  1. I mean I'm obviously delighted the sports direct shite came down and it's a shame it wasn't sooner. but wasn't it rumoured that it was to stay there until new sponsorship was in place? similarly, wasn't there a rumour that the signs being taken down before a new sponsor was found was the reason for ashley's case? been over a month now since his tat disappeared, is that too short a period to have something else in place? no marketing expert me as I'm sure that's obvious!
  2. just wondering as I might've missed it amongst all the transfer comings and goings this week, but... has there been any updates on either the sponsorship of the ground etc or for that matter fat mikey taking stavely to court and why?
  3. it's to be hoped mr logic isn't lurking....
  4. bit of a waste of time letting the met know.
  5. I'm feeling quite smug now that nobody responded to my plea for a spare ticket last week.
  6. I might try our approach in tesco later. I'll give you £2 for this pack of chicken thighs now, another £1 later if they don't make me barf up and a further £2 if the curry I make wins masterchef. see if they're agreeable?
  7. get quite nostalgic for the mid '70s early '80s era I do. very defining musically. was split as a kid between the beer and pogo of punk and head between the speakers with a joint of red leb/squidgy black listening to pink floyd/mike oldfield/tangerine dream. was blown away by gary numan's cars in particular and that track probably sent me down a route of electronica rather than the 2nd wave of punk stuff. was like being primed for the advent of acid house and ecstasy! anyway.... I consider meself very fortunate to have been both old enough to appreciate the punk movement and young enough still to take on the chin the misery of terrible tuesdays after a weekend of raving!
  8. aye, great album, with a superb opening track!
  9. and villa will line up with a team of every fucker we've been linked with.
  10. @PaddockLad new gold dream is a stunning album, the title track in particular, although I think the version from live at the city of light possibly even betters it. saw simple minds at the milton keynes bowl in '86, fucking superb! (as were big audio dynamite) a year later saw u2 at elland road during the joshua tree tour. remember at the time it was quite often discussed who were the better band between the two. no comparison in my humble opinion.
  11. I've just bought a ticket for the villa game, if the line up even closely resembles the one that started against watford, I'm holding you personally responsible!
  12. im starting to think we're missing charnley's incredible negotiating skills.
  13. only a very sporadic visitor to truefaith these days however I really quite enjoyed this article... https://true-faith.co.uk/fanfare-for-the-common-mag-a-new-anthem-for-newcastle-united/ any ideas for a tune which could used or adapted as an anthem? I can't help but feel us lads on here have an advantage on coming up with something bearing in mind we have a lyrical genius in our midst.
  14. 6 of the players in that starting line up need to be upgraded on. wood needs to hit 7 or 8 goals to match his usual haul, saint maximan has to show more consistency, because he was poor before his goal and we need the joelinton of the man utd game for the next three and half months. it's not looking very promising.
  15. massively disappointed, sombre drive home. we've thrown so many points away now but those 2 to me felt the worst as we offered nothing after going ahead and you knew they would score. massive investment and upgrades in the next 2 weeks are we're fucked, sadly.
  16. it's time to start the music, it's time to light the lights......
  17. ah, cheers mate. pitbull injury, sort of. they've had a tree harvester thinning the woods where we walk the dogs and it's turned parts of it into a quagmire and obstacle course. fucker spotted a squirrel before I did and went for it, pulled like an ox and I slipped and fell collar bone first on to the edge of a log pile, to much hilarity initially anyway from the wife!
  18. like a twat I went and broke me collar bone on tuesday. I'm still travelling up though and expect to be rewarded for being a brave little soldier with nothing less than a wood debut hat trick.
  19. who cares? when I looked on here at lunchtime the most recent post was 3 days old. I honestly feared we'd lost ct's legendary terrace chants forever.
  20. the best yet. I'm in fucking awe!
  21. oy.... @Christmas Tree song please, I need to limber up the vocal cords ready for the weekend.
  22. I'm.quite relieved we're a bit slow at medicals and stuff. at least I'll recognise most of the team on saturday.
