  1. probably more than brentford supporters themselves!
  2. just a personal opinion.... first visit for me to the amex yesterday enjoyed me beers in the lansdown arms in lewes but was weird having to cut it short at 2pm to catch a train to the ground. makes you appreciate even more our own grounds location. the ground is visually quite impressive from the outside, shame about the £10 burgers. once inside I thought the away end was shite, far too flat, was stood half way down the stand but even moving to the back it was too low a viewpoint for me personally. I like to look down on a game more. fucking chaotic afterwards at the station but train delays didn't help so maybe its not always that bad? nice and sunny though!
  3. foolishly stepping up to the plate here for what is likely to be a losing match thread starter for whoever sets the ball rolling! it's hard to be anything other than delighted with 4 points and 4th in table after our 2 games but despite this yesterday's almost total lack of any meaningful supply to wilson is a concern. can see an apprehensive atmosphere next weekend which could quickly go flat if man city start handing out their usual mauling. desperately hoping we make a breakthrough in the transfer window in the next few days, otherwise I think I'd be happy for us just to keep the scoreline to under 3
  4. I would aye. but... I also think not getting the two in would represent a disappointing window overall.
  5. I think it did after the forest game too in fairness.
  6. standing waiting for a train on a packed platform at falmer yesterday and everyone was aware brentford were already 2-0 up. a brighton supporter commented that it was quite sad to see man utds unravelling a little too loudly. he was promptly put in his place by both geordies and his own. poor bloke had no choice but to meekly concede it perhaps wasn't after all. by the time we got off at lewes station it was 4, fucking hilarious!
  7. nice post, cheers for the info. I'd imagine it will be heaving in brighton today being as every fucker who owns a car in the uk is currently on the m25 headed towards the m23 junction. I know, I'm stuck in middle of it. is lewes likely to be as busy? happy with either alternative to be honest, just wanna get out the fucking car! looking forward to what should be game, thought at our place last season you were unlucky to leave with nowt, will gladly take a fortunate win for us again today!
  8. never mind all that, what do you think of xg's? and another thing..... just out mild curiosity, how do you see your neighbours fairing this season? at the risk of getting all deluded geordie here I think they're who we should be targeting out the sooperdooper 6 as the one to claw back first. I think it's achievable this season with two reasonable upgrades in our attack.
  9. as above. (hmhm) I'd rather gouge me eyeballs out with a rusty spoon than give any more than a cursory glance to pie charts, graphs, and a myriad of hotspots, colour zones and a string of numbers that'd have pythagoras scratching his head in confusion. but hey, each to their own!
  10. thank god for that. I would've probably wrote it as jamezuz, but regardless I've been a bit scared of contributing for fear of 30 years of bumpkin having rubbed off on me. it's reassuring to know I wasn't getting it wrong for the entire time I lived at home too. anybody know the words for the blaydon races?
  11. handbags flying in hotel receptions. back doors being smashed in. all getting a bit homoerotic in the brighton thread.
  12. and polarboy with what jeeves told him.
  13. you popping along the coast then pl? my first visit to brighton's new house, I'm hearing terrifying tales of it being miles from anywhere to have a pint?
  14. best of mates with bristol now... https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/outside-the-ground-today.1585652/ I live half an hours drive away and have had countless nights out there, on the whole it's one of the most hippie/new age/inclusive/green cities you could ever visit. I can't think anywhere on the planet that bristol could be more the polar opposite of than than a backward, racist, edl infested hell hole than sunderland. funking mindboggling .
  15. just a little thing here.... my little rag tag bunch of weary, mostly old, fellow renault travellers who were occupied with their painfully cramped conditions or mobile phones fell in to complete silence when howe's post match interview came on 5live. my ashley imposed exile included the benitez era so I can't really comment, but I'd be astonished if his post match interviews commanded as much attention as those since keegan or robson. he's articulate, eloquent, thorough and so very, very obviously knowledgeable about his job. love the bloke.
  16. we were by far and away the better team when we played man utd at our place back end of december when howe had only just got his feet under the table. think there's every chance we could finish above them as it stands but with a couple of upgrades on almiron and wood I'd think it was a certainty.
  17. fries my brain still that man utd wanted £8m to loan this then nearly out of contract twat for a few months last season. I mean, I don't really need many more excuses to hate the manc cunts more than i already did, however I hope ten hag is an unmitigated disaster. they're undoubtedly the club out of the sooperdooper 6 we should be targeting to overhaul first.
  18. think we'll beat brighton by a hole in one, two birdies and an eagle.
  19. just mild curiosity... obviously missed the disappeared wykiki match thread mystery the other day. what happened there then? wasn't he at the match yesterday? hope he enjoyed his day out!
  20. ps.... abundance of saudi 3rd kits on display. this made me smile, really hope there was one or two rtg's out shopping in their regional capital yesterday so word gets back to the sportswashing thread. exile needs his sunday morning apoplectic meltdown.
