  1. Was more student central when I was a regular there. Not a criticism as I was a student too back then. Out of interest - if anyone knows - which board gets the most traffic? Am I right in thinking that it's NUFC-Forum? Newcastle Online will be getting the most hits, but its quality that counts. Aye, this is the niche board.
  2. Jon the average age of poster is about 34 on here I'd say, it's a teeny bopper NO thing to do. I think most of us make our opinions plain on who we think the mugs are, and who the good lads are, who the knowledgable people are and who the clueless people are, we don't need a poll to sort it out. I didn't even know NO existed or TT for that matter, till I read a thread about Newcastle v Olympiakos on youtube of all places. All these plate chuckers saying they were going to hammer us silly, and we ended up winning 7-1 on agg, the board in question ended up stuck with more Greek cunts than Jennifer Aniston's wedding. I didn't really post much on toon boards till that point, used to post on football forums, just not Newcastle ones. I got banned off Talk of the Tyne the rivals site twice for calling Liverpool murderers that sickened me so I thought fuck it, in fact the only toon board I haven't been banned off is LM's site. The NO TT second split must be what is refered to as "board wars". I remember that greek invasion, they were properly wound-up. Yes, the split has been referred to as board wars. I know I'm biased, but I reckon most of the clued up ended up here (with a few notable exceptions), whereas most of the kids and out-of-towners stayed over there (again, with exceptions). It's funny that RobW is a figure of ridicule on here, but seen as a revered, wise sage over there, as Alex has pointed out before.
  3. Toon-chat's server kept falling over, so the merger looked like it would give us one bigger, stronger board. However, it was like a bad marriage. The two sets of members were too different and had different ideas for what they wanted. The battle-lines were drawn fairly quickly and in the longer term 'the split' has been better for both boards.
  4. I was Redcar Mag on that board, can't even remember what I used on the one before that.
  5. The cracks were showing before the merger was even complete : http://z7.invisionfree.com/toonchat/index....c=2527&st=0
  6. Was this the temporary board: http://s7.invisionfree.com/toonchat/index.php?act=idx
  7. That's when the split from Newcastle-Online happened, and this place was set up. N-O was an amalgamation of toonchat and something else (Howay the Toon possibly? Someone will know). Most of the regulars on here were originally from toonchat. We were called toontastic before toonchat iirc. You're right thinking back. Who ran that board, Philip someone?

  9. I know what you’re thinking: “Did Newcastle score six goals, or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I’ve kinda lost track myself. But this being the Tyne-Wear derby, the most fierce derby in the world, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Do I feel lucky?” Well do ya, punk?
  10. Boring toon-hater, almost as bad as Jim Beglin. They've got no right to complain about being sacked. If they'd questioned a lino's ability to do the job because they were black or jewish or wore a turban, it would've been instant dismissal. This is no different really.
  11. What's the Latin for 'wheeys keys are theese keys'?
  12. And they could use this to advertise the greyhounds:
  13. Aye, good word Stevie, all the best with it.
  14. Another example of micky fuckwitt's hilarious comedy writing?
  15. Might as well get out now, unless he fancies a lifetime of kowtowing to Churchy & The Sisters. EDIT: good name for a band that.
  16. Forster had a tremendous season at Norwich last year when they got promoted, now he's been playing for one of the scottish big two for a season. It's going to be hard to take, going on the bench / reserves after that. I'd love to keep him and Krul, give them both a crack at it and see who comes out on top.
