  1. He'll never outlay money to a manager, ever. JFK, GOD take his soul, came out of the blue, totally unexpected appointment (not the one at the clinic) so it'll not be anyone we're expecting. ... Juande Ramos waiting in the wings, I hear. Piad a pittance, no transfer budget and the opportunity to work with the likes of Perch and Best. Ramos would have spunked his trousers at the prospect.
  2. Sacking Hughton only makes sense if you're going to bring in a serious upgrade and back him with money, with a view to mounting an assault on the upper part of the table. Anything else isn't just stupid, it's ridiculously stupid on so many levels.
  3. Rather than being complacent, I hope this spurs us on to really go for the jugular. Keep 'em whilst they're down, I say. By the way, Glenn Mcgrath's 2010 Ashes prediction: 'I couldn't have more faith in the boys. I think we'll bounce back and win all the Tests. They'll be close, but I'm tipping a 5-0 whitewash.'
  4. Whichever way you look at it, it makes absolutely no sense to appoint Pardew. He's achieved next to nothing as a manager, and nothing suggests he has the wherewithal to manage NUFC, or indeed has any potential to succeed.
  5. makes him sound like a journeyman
  6. Be interesting to see how this goes. England didn't just win, they obliterated and thrashed the Aussies.......this is uncharted territory for a side used to winning comfortably on their home patch. The Aussie public and press are on the players' backs so will they crumble under the pressure or step up their game? Losing Katich is a big blow. The Aussies have got to pull together now and show the same unity of purpose as England....I wonder whether Ponting is the man to inspire them? They need to improve across the board but most of all their bowling attack......if they can't skittle out the top order cheaply, they've no hope of winning twice in the next 3 matches.
  7. Stupidity is their calling card Sack manager part way into season + appoint useless replacement + instability + no player investment in Jan = relegation Sounds familiar?
  8. And Melbourne Knights according to wikipedia. For an impressive two games. He also helped out at Notre Dame for a while
  9. Great team effort all round. This has got to hurt, a few glum Aussies in the office today....!
  10. 295-9, Swanny takes Doherty. Nearly over.
  11. Just noticed Ryan Harris got a king pair. Only second Aussie ever to get one, hee hee
  12. That Simon Bird article makes depressing reading. They're so utterly clueless, it'd be funny if it was another club...
  13. Wonder what Big Ron's assessment of Shola is? I'm saying nothing
  14. Thanks Chris. Shame you did your best work for a joke regime.
  15. Pardew is exactly the low rent yes man that they're looking for. Never mind that he's dog shit as a manager, why should that matter?
  16. It all points to Big Ron Atkinson
  17. At this moment and it fucking pains me to say it but.... Ouch!
  18. Scratching my head on this one. Can't see O'Neill working under the current regime. Anybody's who's any good already has a job.
  19. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the back of Ashley and his regime. Difficult to imagine a more useless owner.
  20. But why would he? An appointment a la Kinnear would make more sense. Someone washed up and desperate ("expereinced"), like Hoddle or George Graham.
  21. Just got this news. Speechless....I really can't believe it, absolutely ridiculous decision. I can only assume they fell out over transfer funds......it really makes no sense if this has been instigated by the club. Anybody half decent won't touch the club with a shitty stick, and rightly so. Ashley and LLambias are utterly clueless.

    Llambias

Because he's an invisible anonymous little bureaucrat, whereas Shepherd was an attention seeker?
