  1. Thats the thing, we've not had to tempt some highly paid, world class manager away from Barca or owt. Fuck me, he would have come here for 50k a year and a crack at Nolans missus. Maybe they're worried about him getting poached by Inter when we qualify for the CL this season
  2. I think the club will be very reluctant to spend anything at all on transfers. I'd be surprised if anybody was bought or sold in Jan unless we got an offer that's too good to refuse from a club in Europe on a shopping spree. I could see us bringing in a loan signing however, a striker like Keane makes sense.
  3. The length of the contract is strange though nonetheless, esp given Pardew's track record of failure. It's not as if they're trying to lock in Mourinho, is it?
  4. Watched it on the telly (obviously). Amazing result given the circumstances. Some thoughts: I thought Carroll, Barton and Enrique were class in particular. Krul made a crucial save from Torres at 1-1. Couldn't do much about their goal. Ranger was a big improvement on Shola and swung the momentum our way after their equaliser....I suspect that change was forced on Pardew rather than being tactical. Ranger will overtake Shola soon. Campbell was an embarrassment, difficult to see him playing for us again after that showing. Unbelievable the ball bounced off the back of his head in the run up to their goal. Guti can't cross or shoot, dribbles up blind alleys and falls over, it's incredibly frustrating. Woy Hodgson was hilarious. He looks like an old drag artist who's just taken his make up off. He rubbed his face over and over when we went 2-1 up as if trying to wake up from a nightmare. Overall a fantastic result. Takes the heat off Pardew.
  5. no, you get a hooker in first class Who do you think that is in the picture? she needs a wax, that one
  6. I'm guessing he'd have changed it when it was first posted on the web in 2006 or whatever
  7. We could play Pardew bullshit bingo with that lot in the coming months. "Fair play to Liverpool, they absolutely raped us but I can't fault the lads for effort"
  8. We seem to lean these days to out of work managers of London clubs. I'd plump for Glenn Hoddle or George Graham.
  9. no, you get a hooker in first class
  10. Pardew won't last till the end of the season. Who's next?
  11. The way these things work out, CH will probably manage the team that beats Pardew's toon in the FA cup semifinal.
  12. I wonder if Pardew's working on springing their offside trap?
  13. Amen. And I say that with the heaviest of hearts. x2
  14. What's "a better still"? making their own booze now, further radical cost cutting. Well he's right, that is daft. They should be improving their skills, not brewing their own ale
  15. The idea of the players shouting abuse at a cowering Llambias makes me happy
  16. That's hilarious.....pissing myself here
  17. FYP. We've no idea why he appointed Pardoo, have we? ??? We dont but he obviously thinks he's better, hence the appointment? Better in what sense? His appointment could be for any number of non-footballing reasons - he's a good mate - he's not black - Ashley wants a bastard in charge - Ashley wants a disciplinarian - he won't challenge Ashley - he will allow players to be sold - Ashley likes cocky people - he owes Ashley - he's compliant - he won't make demands for resources etc. We don't know why he's appointed Pardew, we don't know anything about it. What's obvious is that he doesn't have a superior record football wise to Hughton. In fact he's been sacked from his last 3 jobs. So on a footballing level it makes no sense whatsoever, which is all I really care about. I realise you were talking about 'better' from Ashley's perspective, but I don't think that's necessarily a positive thing and we haven't a clue what has motivated this move anyway.
  18. FYP. We've no idea why he appointed Pardoo, have we?
  19. Whereas Hughton is a classy bloke, I reckon Pardoo is a complete twat. So this lack of respect for CH doesn't surprise me.
  20. I can't get my head round the idea that the Board's responsibilities for the strategic direction of the club end at appointing the manager. The manager has a key role to play but there's so much more to it than that. I'd expect that most managers including SAF would expect total autonomy over the footballing side (team selection, tactics, training, treatment of injuries etc) and a significant input to player transfers, but very little else. Is that a naive view?
  21. I've seen it before but it's still very funny. I can't say I wsh Pardew well, even if he is our manager
