  1. I'd take Ledley but certainly not Doyle, sidestep at best from the Shola class of players.
  2. 5 million for one of the best keepers in the Premier League and 15 million for Bellamy and Scott Parker - I doubt he's going though.
  3. Don't get cheesed off because your precious Taylor isn't good enough to displace that lad with about 4 games under his belt. And I admit to mentioning Guthrie twice but I'm not the one who claimed half our starting eleven today are full internationals. Butt had one poor game against Wigan and people want him taken out and shot - short memories tbh. Yes, I did put N'Zogbia and Enrique in my strongest XI. There's no contradiction there. All I said is that they aren't full internationals, which they aren't. It shocks me that some of you are honestly trying to argue we could ever have got a result here considering the squad we put out, but it takes all kinds I suppose.
  4. Taylor, Guthrie, Edgar, Enrique, N'Zogbia, Guthrie - none of these are full internationals. Edgar is a reserve player and Taylor hasn't started in some time. So no, I don't agree with you, and I maintain that this was a subpar starting XI that is a substantial step down from something like Given/Enrique/Beye/Bassong/Colloccini/Jonas/Barton/Butt/N'Zogbia/Owen/Martins.
  5. I am sorry if you are prepared to laugh at a scoreline of 5 fkn 1, but I am not. It is shocking and unlike you I am thinking ahead. This is not only a loss but a catalyst for further losses, demoralised team. What else is there to do but laugh? Did you just watch the same game as me? It could have been 10! If you have any sense you'll write this game off because we were never going to get anything out of it and start looking ahead to our next league game which is a winnable one at home to West Ham. We got a point from Chelsea (A) and Man. U (A). Write the game off before it starts, feck off. If people adopted your philosophy the so called 'untouchables' will all be around 90points a season. AND DO YOU FKN don't understand, the 5-1 probably means we are too demoralised to turn up against West Ham either. No wonder the team do not seem to be interested. No, since the team aren't borderline monkeys like you, they'll know we were always going to get pummelled by the league leaders considering the depleted state of our team. And yes, we did write off the Chelsea and Man U games and got points from them - but think about the games we believe are nailed on wins that turn out to be dropped points and it evens out.

  7. Decent cross from Kazenga there, would be nice to see him get a game every now and then instead of some of the dross we have appearing for us in midfield. You know, in games we aren't losing 5-1.
  8. And Attain has got to be the dumbest poster on this board. Not to lash out or anything but you come across thicker than mince sometimes.
  9. Taylor shouldn't still be on the pitch. What a joker. Geremi's set pieces have been good today - trying to take whatever positive I can from this. Jonas has looked decent? I thought.
  10. Surely a backpass from Carra, what are these bastards in yellow playing at today?
  11. Pathetic goal. And Benitez is taking pictures with the fans, goes to show how little he has to do to beat a rabble like ours.
  12. GET IN EDGAR! Taylor should've scored on his header and Duff was surely not even remotely close to being offside, that's a poor decision. We could well have been equal in this game which would be undeserved but it could have happened. It's not hopeless, stranger things have happened, we need the Kinnear team talk now. Holding out for 2-2.
  13. Dear me, if Given lets in 8 after this he'll have already done more than could ever be asked of any keeper. Some of those saves were nothing short of fantastic.
  14. Carragher looks vulnerable this afternoon. Given's been immense so far but I fear there are many more saves to be made.
  15. Was there anyone who didn't see this coming? Disgraceful.
  16. "Average" - we could do with a few more players as "average" as him. When we win a couple, we're heading to Europe and Jonas is a legend, but we lose against a bogey opponent in a bogey fixture to a bogey player and suddenly the knives are out for one of our better performers this season? If you need a scapegoat, there are plenty better.
  17. There's no way that Ryan sodding Taylor has just scored against us again. EDIT: I'm way behind obviously as I'm at work and don't have a stream, it's halftime right? And we sound dire, well no surprise there.
  18. If the club doesn't get sold, I'd have him. "IF" it does, I would think we'd be looking for better.
  19. Have to agree Berbatov must belong on this list, I think Tevez is by far a more complete player and the astronomical price Man U bought him for has left him with a lot to answer for. Nacho shouldn't be on this list - he was a loan signing man, we're not lumbered with him if he doesn't work out. I think this list is missing the catastrophic flops that are Chimbonda and Diouf.
  20. We're shockingly shit against Wigan and shockingly shit on Boxing Day, I don't think these omens are good. Nevertheless they are a poor side and on paper we should be beating them. I'll hold out for a 2-1.
  21. President Ahmadinejad? Silly Fop, there are no gays in his country
  22. Some Villa lulus on Soccernet were claiming that Milner's better than every player we have and that he's the future of England. Nice to see our guests have a better idea of his qualities. I'd rather not let N'Zogbia go without knowing we'd replace him as Duff really isn't very good - sorry Damien, thanks for the goal on Sunday - but if he's actually coming out and saying he wants to go, we should let him and try to get some decent wedge (which will go into Fat Mike's pocket of course... )
