  1. We could have done that just by telling them Isak isn't for sale though. If Ekitike is the next best/closest option. I think we really want Ekitike. Isn't this our third attempt to get him?
  2. SMASH THAT RELEASE CLAUSE. Make them pay for taking the piss out of us on Isak.
  3. Yes Dingle. Did you see how I said "I'd love to see.."? Not "he's bound to.." or "I see no reason why he can't..."
  4. Please start making sense at your earliest convenience.
  5. Aye Staveley wasn't doing anything special, we just got lucky in who we were dealing with. Even then there wasn't many that came out of the blue and got done. Botman went on for a bit and weren't we haggling in public for a bit with the club owner when we got Bruno. I think there's been some mythologising of Staveley's transfer business.
  6. This sort of thing is why we're going to fall foul of the Online Safety Act.
  7. I'd love to see him go there and have a mint season scoring the goals that keeps them up.
  8. For the purposes of this place, that would be fine I reckon. Pull up the drawbridge and then just tick us off into our graves.
  9. If he goes, it just means the price for Isak goes up. Same as when everyone thinks we're swimming in Saudi dough. I still think they can be priced out of Ekitike if the will is there on our side.
  10. Let there be light BABY.
  11. Diaz wants to go doesn't he? And I assume Slot doesn't rate Nunez and wants to sell him whilst people can still remember when he looked quite good.
  12. Aye zero margin for error for them on a £250m window, which is why they want Isak and they want him on the cheap (which I think 120m is). I still think we should be dragging them into the deep water here by telling them to get bent on Isak, and then triggering daft lad's release clause. It's the only hope we have of beating them to this signing is just making it too risky for them. If they match our bid, he's gonna pick them. It's obviously a risk for us too, but we've got to start taking risks to make the step up.
  13. Aye thanks Andrew. Next up, close to new members and lock from public view so we can get past the Online Safety Act.
  14. What difference does his relationship with the Liverpool fans make if he's playing for Bayern. They think they're so fucking special.
  15. Doesn't exactly seem like there's much strategy behind it. If we want to have any hope of overtaking these on the pitch, we have to come out on top in situations like this. Second half of the season, we weren't that far off them, and they've got ageing stars. Situations like this will be the difference maker.
  16. Aye I agree. This is a test as you say. I just posted similar above just before you sent this one - we should take this deal beyond a level that Liverpool are comfortable with (assuming they won't go to the release clause, which is excessive) and work out the PSR stuff later. Over a 5 year deal, the gap between current bid and the full whack isn't even that much.
  17. Part of the bullshit from yesterday was the view that "Liverpool have been told no on Isak so they'll just take Ekitike now instead". Well not if we push the price beyond the point that they're comfortable to pay. I'd much sooner we did that than penny pinched and lost out because Liverpool can offer the promise of trophies. Just take a bit of a PSR risk and tell the commercial director he needs to plug the hole.
  18. The boss move would definitely be to just plant our palm in their face when it comes to Isak and use the other hand to trigger Ekitike's release clause.
  19. Anyone else that's looking in and wants on the Discord, drop me a PM while this place is still up... It's gonna go down again soon.
  20. Oh. No we're not. Not to worry! Back to Discord I go.
