Owen's pregnant with Shearer's child.
-
I don't think this is good news like.
-
I am personally responsible for Newcastle United's current plight.
-
I've come to realise. It is the fans fault.
Gemmill replied to Kevin Carr's Gloves's topic in Newcastle Forum
Aye. Nice one. -
In that case, I don't want to hear even a word of complaint out of you if we get relegated.

"Following the talks Owen was whisked away in a vehicle with darkened out windows to be entertained at Alan Shearer's residence this evening" Shearer's pulling out all the stops here: "Pleeeeeeease sign for us. I'll be your best mate. Pleeeeease. You can stop at mine tonight." My source tells me that Shearer then let Owen beat him on FIFA before giving him the top bunk. It's felt that this could well have clinched the deal.

According to the Chronicle he's already been to Liverpool and had talks with him. If so, that in itself is encouraging - the fact that he's even bothering with us having spoken with Liverpool.

I don't think we'll be getting rid of Sourness yet, even if we did there are still managers that would come to us even if we did. 21186 Good ones that would stay the course though? We'd always be able to attract a new manager but we need more than that. 21192 Le Guen or Hitzfield? 21193 Depends whether they would back themselves to get things right in less than a season, because unfortunately that's what we're marketing the job as if we're prepared to sack another manager a month into the season. EDIT - A manager with a good reputation will be far less inclined to put his reputation on the line under those circumstances. A manager with nothing to lose would though, and it's more likely that that's what we'd end up with IMO.

Papa, I've just made the point in the other thread - "anything else" is not what we need. We need lengthy enquiries and discussions about who the right man is, and then we need to target them over a period of time and make sure we have a shortlist of one or two, not five or six. I don't believe that can be done in the middle of a season. Robson was a one-off - a local that wanted to manage us. "Anything else" is short termist and will land us in even worse shit when we're having to make another change a year or 18 months down the line. We need a long term plan that sets us on the right tracks over a period of time, not a short term fix that appeases the fans for a little while..
-
Sacking another manager at around the same time in successive seasons is not going to make us attractive to ANY manager, let alone the good ones. We'll be left in a situation where we have to make another rash appointment (similar to the one where Souness got the job). And before anyone says "Anything's better than Souness"....maybe, maybe not, but "anything" is hardly the long term plan that we're all hoping for, is it?
-
I didn't clap them off yesterday. But I don't know quite what reaction the fans should have given to effect any change. They were well booed off after West Ham and nothing happened.
-
Agree. If he loses a match in the next 6 games, he'll be out. If he wins all 6 however, we're right up the table and then see what happens. 21154 Aye, we're 3 points off 9th place. Although to be fair the 3 points looks even further away than 9th place at the minute.

How about Hirtzfeld ? He was available - but Shepherd wanted a "British" manager. And what a wonderful job he's done, eh ? Sold our better players on the cheap and is willing to pay DOUBLE the going rate to patch up the gaps. Fabulous. 21144 The Hitzfeld that turned down Real Madrid because he wanted some time away from football? Never gonna happen.

why not ? I'm not making judgements, but lacking heart is a serious flaw, of course you support the manager selling the player with the most desire and one of the biggest hearts at the club. You are so blinded by Souness's fuckwit lies propaganda you can't the nose in front of your face probably. Are you not still wittering on about giving Souness a chance ? If you have low expectations for this football, thats your problem. 21115 Try addressing the issue at hand instead of wittering on about Bellamy and Robert for once. Is it right to judge Luque on 90 minutes of Premiership football? You apparently think so, I don't. 21117 I'm not making a judgement. The best player I have ever seen play for Newcastle had a quiet debut. I do however think it's about time you got off your high horse and found it in yourself to admit that Souness is a shit manager, and one or two good signings won't change that. If you can't do that then that is pathetic. 21121 I'm not on a horse of any description. I'm discussing Luque's debut and whether it's right to condemn him following his debut. And I'm not the only one that's noticed that his harshest criticism is coming from those whose every post contains some reference to how shite Souness is, whether that is the topic at hand or not. 21125 I have edited the post after you replied. Anyway I don't give a shit if someone agrees with you. It's my opinion, but I'll give him a few more games. You said I was pathetic for disagreeing with you - pathetic - and I say you are pathetic for still not having it in you to admit you are wrong about the manager. 21133 I didn't say you were pathetic for disagreeing with me. I said it was pathetic to judge a player on his debut, especially when that judgement is heavily influenced by a dislike for the manager. 21135 I dislike Souness because is an arrogant bully who is destroying and bankrupting this football club, by underselling players who hurt his ego and needing millions to replace them because he's such a fuckwit. Period. 21140 Funnily enough I'd already got that message. I think you must have mentioned it before.

If anyone needs blaming it's the cockends at Sky TV for putting microphones by a pitch and expecting not to pick up anyone swearing. Tossers.

Sorry can't make it. I'm at work on Thursday morning.

I honestly do find it hard to consider the likes of Heinze and Ronaldo as "men". A pathetic pair of arseholes. 21079 Much though football will remain rightly as the no.1 sport i find it embrassing to compare some of the wankers, cheats, divers and inujury feigning fuckwitts in this sport with players of most other sports. In rigby if anybody even dares to come close to feignign injury their own team mates would batter them never mind the opposition, in hockey peopel get twatted with wooden sticks in the head and play on. In cricket imagine a batsman being hit by a bouncer and then hitting the deck and rolling around like a tart, it just wouldn't happen. Football is a great sport, but some of the "men" who play it are a embrassing little fuckwitts who woudl shame every other sport in the land. 21089 This post has given me a desperate desire to see Cristiano Ronaldo padded up facing a 90 mph bouncer from Harmison that's heading straight for his face. At least it might save him squeezing his spots that day.

He was tripe yesterday.

The papers have been saying since Saturday that he's coming over for the first few days of this week to talk to both Liverpool and us. Still expect him to go to Liverpool though, assuming they can agree a fee. The promising thing is that if they CAN'T agree a fee, at least we've spoken to the player and can have provisional terms agreed and a contract drafted, to avoid running out of time as Wednesday approaches.

Jesus Christ, the lad makes his debut against Man Utd having been in the country two days. Sorry like, but now is not the time to be making judgements of him. Unless that is you're so blinded by your hatred of the manager that this just gives you something else to witter on about. Pathetic.
