  1. Win the FA Cup and doesn't matter where we finish, a trophy at long last and another European adventure albeit in the Europa league, which is probably the best we can get anyway with a league position.
  2. He would have played the Waughs considering his age and where he grew up.
  3. Edit, realise you knew all this and was totally whooshed but here's what i wrote for others like Gemmill who didn't know: I wasn't joking, CV was born in Italy but raised in 'stralia mate. His old man was manager of Marconi, an Australian national league team with Italian association, so from aged 4 to 15 he lived and was schooled in the west of Sydney. The family migrated back Italy when CV was signed by AC Santa Luca. His shite younger brother, Max (Massimiliano) who was born here, played for 'stralia, as he was never going to make the Italian team. And CV owns heaps of property around Sydney. BTW Viduka has gone the same way but now speaks English with a Croatian accent.
  4. Take away that hole in front of the backline and once our sweeper keeper is back in the team, BDB isn't as much of a problem. Have a look at where most of the balls come from that give him problems and allow pacey wingers to target him? They don't come down the line/over his head, as he can usually intercept those, they come from the space between our midfield and defence and they are hit in behind so his height advantage is lost. Control that space and you start to control the problem.
  5. You can't have Vieri, he's Australian! 😉 Considering how bad Del Piero's injuries were, a bit like Shearer, the fact he still went on to play so many games and score so many goals is incredible.
  6. The 1970 runners-up and 1982 WC Champions enter the chat.
  7. @Howmanheyman Ciaomanheyman, thoughts on this bullshite?
  8. Bastard! Where's Del Piero on that list? Wasn't Maldini a LCB and not a LB for most of his career?
  9. Easter Sunday, he's holed up until then!
  10. FFS Rob, you just had too, didn't you?
  11. Unlike their football team, there are a couple of decent MLF bands, Leatherface and Retriever. come to mind. Although I think Neil Tennant comes from the SMB side of North Shields, no?
  12. I played U18 rep football for an Australian Italian club in the 80s and the first thing they taught us was all the swear words, they served me well at the 2006 World Cup in the streets of Hanover after Italy knocked Australia out the round of 16 with that shitty dive. An Italian telling you to fuck off, just doesn't have the same ring to it! 🤦🏾‍♂️
  13. I was digging around in the North American section of my vinyl collection, yes alphabetical by continent, fuck knows why? And I found this gem, pre grunge grunge, my version is a 12"EP on wax trax, so pre this album, recorded by Steve Albinil
  14. Black Keys are a funny one for me, the early stuff was great and they still come out with the occasional bit of gold but most of their stuff for the last 10/15 years is a boring version of their earlier selves, imho. Anyway Fist, here's your new favourite track featuring R.L, this is my ringtone for my missus!
  15. @Monkeys Fist you ever get into R.L. Burnside? He did this great album with the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.
  16. There will be an AVO out on the little stalker soon.
  17. Get your money on Kiwi Chris scoring, when we put 3 past them to win 1-3.
  18. Five across the back, at home, against relegation fodder Luton - Big Sam Alladyce has joined the conversation. BTW you obviously missed the Villa game, there was nothing wrong with the midfield three. Bruno just needed not to be running around like a "headless chook" and hold his position.
  19. Aston Barret from the Wailers also died, the house band in the afterlife got a few more members today.
