  1. Shepherd would have sold Carroll ffs. Nearly every buisness man would have. The mistake though was not anticipating the market and buying back up. As it stands though, we may still finish in a higher place then under Shepherd for may years of his tenure, and it's been a fuck of a lot more exciting than most these years too. So are you going to answer why you still go to football matches when you clearly don't enjoy it or not then? A very comparable situation there was when he turned down reported bids of £15-£20m for Dyer. I wouldn't be so sure that he'd sell him. They knew Woodgate was fucked, so you can't use that as an example as well. I thought that was just paper rumours and never confirmed. Shepherd did say he would have accepted the bid for Carroll though.
  2. Not hungover but very, very tired.
  3. Hughton doesn't really have much chance to stop him does he?
  4. He no doubt loves it, any excuse to wheel out the same old lines. aye, next season is gonna be just greeeeaaaat Why do you bother supporting Newcastle any more? You admitted after our great come back against Arsenal that you had seen it all before (despite it never having been done before) so it didn't excite you. All you do is moan about how shit we are and how shit we will be in future (despite us having a pretty good season), if you are going to constantly live in those few years where were in the champions league then you will be bitterly disappointed for many years to come (and this started before Ashley came in btw, the billionaire owners at City haven't helped this either). If following Newcastle is such an obvious chore why do you bother? It just seems like self harm to you. You are unable to accept where we are now (see "lower expectations") so you refuse to accept any joy that may come about because it doesn't match to what we were doing for a spell under the old board. Seriously is there any point? I know I would struggle to keep interest in something that never, ever gives me any positive moments. Daft arse. Negative fuckers like you, who don't realise where the club ought to be, no wonder you spend more time on NO than here. Mike Ashley loves supporters like you, accepting what he is doing to it, if you went to games like. Brilliant What have you done to stick it to Ashley btw?
  5. Not that I am advocating it happen because if it doesn't it's a fucking joke but if we didn't reinvest the Carroll money I am not sure we will struggle. We already have 'like two new signings' in Ben Arfa and Gosling. Best Hopefully comes back like he left off and we are probably already in a better position that we ended the season in. I do hope we add a decent (Demba Ba) and real quality striker (no idea) as well as cover for Tiote, a versatile winger and a centre back then I think we are looking good to push on next season
  6. Yep agree with that, he is a bargain hunter by nature which can be good at times (Ben Arfa, Tiote) but some times you need to throw caution to the wind and that's my real concern with him.
  7. Denial isnt a river in Africa...he's wanted at other clubs, so he'll be sold if you ask me. Its how our leaders are doing things, rightly or wrongly. Whether its a success or not depends entirely on the replacements for the likes of him and Enrique. There are clubs out there who have been very successful (by most measures) with this sort of model e.g. Lyon have sold almost all their best players regularly over the last decade and have only recently slipped from the pinnacle of the game in France. But when a player is sold there (and every player has his price) his replacement is usually already at the club. The chairman at Lyon Jean Michel Aulas runs his club in this way and its been a huge success for him....not sure if Deek n Meek have been picking up too many tips from him though...tbh I'd be surprised if they could point to France on a map As is the case with 98% of clubs. The Carroll sale (the 8th most expensive player ever) has 'confirmed' a few beliefs. If we get silly bids for players we will sell, as said, that is the case for the majority of clubs, even Manchester United.

  9. You would hope professional footballers wouldn't instantly take the foot off the gas rather than trying to finish as high as possible.
