Id say performance wise it seems to be on a par with the full retail version of xppro. However, my microxp installation was amazingly fast. Not sure if i should stick with vista and see if the 1st service pack improves things though.......

Had the ultimate version installed for about a week or so and its 'very fancy'. Bit concerned that my ram usage sometimes hovers around the 50% mark but its pretty good. The beta version of peerguardian appears to be working correctly, avg, football manager 2007 all seem to work fine. desktopx refuses to work though. everything appears to be ok with 2 exceptions: 1) rapget loads but doesnt download anything (i currently have 454 pending downloads ) 2) i had to manually download my onboard soundcard drivers and install them myself as vista wouldnt install them from the cd. Even though ive crashed it twice it seems pretty stable - theres supposedly a service pack due out shortly as well that may improve things further. Still tempted to go back to my microxp installation though.......

A little sour grapes eh Stevieintoon, they certainly fucked us up in our first World Cup in 1950 but that's probably before you were born or old enough to remember. I agree that their approach to most things is to try and change it to suit them and television but I think when it comes to football they have realised it's on a World stage and have conformed to playing it the way the rest of the world does. When they tried professional leagues before (which all failed) they tried different points systems, shoot-outs because they had to have a winner as they do in their other sports with OT's and extra-innings, but now the MSL which has been going for 12 years plays it the way we do and a draw is acceptable, sometimes hailed. Inccidently, there are more kids today, boys & girls, playing "soccer" in organized leagues than there are playing Baseball, Basketball, and American Football. Most high schools and colleges have boys & girls/men & women teams. More and more is getting on TV but the problem seems to be that they can't, as yet, get a big enough spectator following at games. I think the number of Yanks playing overseas in Britain and other nations is indicative that the sport has shown massive growth in recent years among its youth. Once todays school kids become tomorrows couch potatoes then its just a matter of time before theres a huge tv audience for it.

Before i got my pass to park on site i used to park on whitley road. as i parked up one time i was immediately 'accosted' by two blokes telling me to shift - so i politely told them that i was perfectly entitled to park there as there were no restrictions. (Three was one small part of the road without yellow lines). this went on for a few months until the council put yellow lines this bit of road. Now even the residents cant park in front of their own houses. Fucking spackas.
