Physical Memory is the actual sticks of RAM that are slotted into the motherboard. Virtual Memory is also known as the 'page file' and is literally a special file stored on the computers hard drive. The OS uses a combination of physical and virtual memory to help manage the running of any programs (including the OS itself) on the pc. Lets say you have 256mb of ram installed - you start up your pc and the programs that are loaded are the OS (150mb), anti virus (25mb) and you then go online with your browser (25mb). Simply by doing that your already using 200mb of your ram. if you then want to watch a dvd on your pc or burn a cd or pretty much do anything else your pc is gonna struggle as it only has 56mb to play with. Those quoted figures are saying that because theres not enough RAM, its having to use 'virtual' memory in order to run the programs. the way to increase performance is to buy extra RAM (making sure you get the right kind) for the motherboard. i personally have 2gb (or 2000mb's). The new windows OS called vista reportedly needs a recommended 1gb of ram simply to function. never mind run any other tasks like anti virus, cd burning etc etc

Nah, it's not an undeveloped foetus, it's basically part of the muscle inside the uterus which develops into a benign tumour. They're really common and can be removed individually or if they're causing bad symptoms or are really large, then a hysterectomy is usually the best way to get rid of them. How old is she and has she had children? early 40's and has 3 bairns. and according to a scan this fibroid thing is huge. she filled a 2 litre bag after being catheterised. I've seen a few fibroids removed in theatre and I'm not joking, there was one that was the size of a football. If she's had her bairns and it's causing her loads of bother then they'll probably list her for a hysterectomy. If she has it done at Rake Lane they've got some some lovely theatre staff so tell her not to worry aye - the gyne ward at rake lane is pretty good - me mam had a hysterectomy about 6 months ago and they were great. me mother also works at rake lane and me next door neighbours wife is a theatre nurse there too. bloody small world.

ive just thought - your the perfect person to ask about this. my aunties took bad (been having problems with her waterworks and been in pain every now and again) and was admitted into mistake lane on sat night. docs have done tests and a few scans and have diagnosed a 'fibroid' (sp?) and its looking like a hysterectomy type thing is the cure. now - is a 'fibroid' an undeveloped foetus or a regular tumour? or are they both the same?

Bramble had his fair share of first team football, he's been at the club a while and he hasnt really progressed as a centre back. either consider a switch of position (maybe to defensive midfield) or actively look for another club for him.

California sues car firms over global warming.
Lazarus replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in General Chat
Electric cars are no better for the environment then normal cars, they just shift the point of emissions from the car to the power station where they generate the electricity. its a start though and electricity can be generated by other means. -
