  1. No way would fat Sam fit in a Ferrari 365
  2. Anyone daft enough to put a poll online that anyone can access deserve a stupid result.
  3. Notice the difference between Chelsea getting something sorted and Newcastle getting something sorted...
  4. Pud made a good point earlier, and thinking about it how much money has the club made on transfers since Ashley took over? I'd like to know how much has been made against this miraculous amount that Ashley has forked out of his own pocket to pay off previous debts.
  5. If Shepherd returned but got himself someone to work alongside who prevented the stupid 'Souness' type mistakes that'd be great. For all he was despised when he left he really did show the meaning of 'Better the devil you know' and he was a million times better than Ashley.
  6. Indeed, first reaction is one of wariness but still happy that we'd be finally rid of the useless fat prick. IF (and by the way things are going it's a big 'if') a buyout is fairly quick it could be a great thing... however as things never run that smoothly for us and people are going to want to be uber nit-picking on all the books this is likely to take most of the closed season to sort out. If that happens we'll be ill-prepared for our first season in the Championship and I say 'first' because I'd expect to to have to right off this year and hope that whoever comes in can pick things up the following season. Just depends on who (if anyone) comes in and how quickly really. It's morbidly amusing that this is exactly what I predicted Ashley would do the other day, knowing our luck it's probably all a ploy so that he doesn't have to spend anything during the closed season, can turn round at the end of the transfer window and say "I tried to sell up, it's not my fault", then lumber us with an inferior, unprepared squad, a manager such as Joe Kinnear and nothing what-so-ever to look forward to for even longer. I hope and pray that our luck changes this week and everything starts to fall in to place because as things are we're continuing on that downward spiral and it's just gaining speed.
  7. Never liked footy as a kid particularly but it didn't stop my parent's Geordie neighbour buying me excessive amounts of Newcastle United memorabilia every time she went back up to Newcastle to visit her relatives. Then when I had a brief spell in Scotland in my late teens everyone up there spoke about football and not much else so I kind of got in to it from there, the two got added together and here I am. There isn't a club I'd rather support or fans I'd rather be alongside, I might have come in to it a bit later than some but since that moment I've never looked back.
  8. Made up story, they can't say anything about what Shearer will or won't do until he's agreed to stay. Until that point the journos are just guessing, there should be laws about making up stories.
  9. Someone's been winding our club up for ages...
  10. That's pretty much what I'm seeing at the moment, I mean seriously, does it really take this long to iron things out? A takeover's likely to knacker next season up as much as Ashley not doing anything just because it'd mean dragging everything out while it gets sorted as well... with every day that passes a good position in the league gets further from our grasp imo.
  11. Wow, so glad I know that now...
  12. Don't worry mate, the board are more than enough to squash most people's optimism one way or the other.
  13. I think it's bad news, either that or stalling further.
  14. Ditch his sorry scouse ass back in the Mersey with all the other shite
  15. I'm of the opinion that people should be allowed to have the Robocop anti-theft systems fitted to their cars
  16. Damn Stevie, I only caught a brief glimpse of the thread title on my way through and had to come back
  17. I like Oba, just he's he's a luxury we can't afford in the Championship tbh. It'd be great if we could keep him (if he'd even want to stay) but I think for the level of football we're pretty much covered up front, the youngsters should be able to cope without too much problem. Am I right in thinking we have an abundance of strikers/forwards as opposed to other areas of the team? I'd take Ranger and Carroll up front, as well as some of the others.
  18. How attractive are Pompey ffs? These crazy Arabs are fucking mental, talk about picking the most wank, unfashionable teams going, first City, now bloody Pompey! Chuff me
  19. Aye, I have this horrible feeling it's all a smoke screen put in place so that when they can get out of making any financial commitment during the closed season then just as the next transfer window closes they'll say that the potential buyer has pulled out. It's just a ploy so Fat Ash doesn't haven't spend up and can send us even further in to oblivion. Fuck sake, why can't he just fuck off and die? Can't we attract a half decent owner who's willing to do the right things for the club and in good time for the next season? ... cunts, the lot of em.
  20. He can forget ever being associated with us if he does go there, probably thinks it's the nearest he'll get.
  21. Are we hated as much as Leeds? And if so, why???
  22. It's funny, on Sunday I was fed up with footy, didn't want to hear about it any more nor speak to anyone about it - now I find myself actually impatient to see how things are going to pan out during the course of the summer and reasonably excited about playing next season... just doesn't make sense
  23. See, even in the Championship the media love reporting on us - it must be boiling the piss of those Prem teams and supporters who hate us so much
