Good call, Boyd would deffo be worth a punt, could try and get him and McLean at the same time.

You say it like we have a choice of the top players in the world...
-
I saw that and it reminded me of why I never click on Vital Football!! Indeed, like I said, it was dubious at best - though some of them would be worth a shout for the right money. I wonder if Sidwell would consider a move to us.

Just seen this from a dubious source: But yeah, I'd go for some of those as well as Aaron McLean, Jermaine Beckford maybe even Chops.

Alan Shearer to discuss four-year deal at Newcastle
TheMoog replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
If we get Carver back, Rob Lee in and ditch the high earning wastrels, as well as Shearer and Dowie staying on with a bit of cash to spend I'll feel quite optimistic about our chances. After a couple of days reflection I'm actually looking forward to what should be a more entertaining season for us (providing the right things happen soon). We've been lounging round the bottom end of the Prem for the last few years since Sir Bobby left, not doing much other than disappointing the fans. Hopefully in the Championship we'll kick back in to gear and rebuild the club to being better for everyone, there should be more excitement anyways. -
Nothing to say

I live in hope
-
In my head Alan Shearer walks in to Mike Ashley's office, backed by a potential new owner and says: "March straight back to London stopping at every Geordie home you pass by to beg forgiveness for seven hundred and thirty one days of mockery, theft and destruction. Do that, and you and your men shall live, do it not, and every one of you will die today." "And before we let you leave, you must go out to the middle of St James, present yourself before the Toon army, put your head between your legs, and kiss your own arse."
-
It can only happen with a change in ownership. Which might happen once MA realises the shit he's in now. If he bought the club to have fun/make money he's going to do neither now. I reckon he'll fuck off asap Can but hope, I just don't think we're lucky enough.

this ^ One man and one man only is to blame for Newcastle United being relegated and that is Mike Ashley, the others were just hired by him. The buck stops with that fat cunt and I hope we get rid of him as soon as possible. There's no point in blaming anyone else, Wise was just taking the money, Llambias is the same. The players were brought in or ground down a long time before Shearer came in and Keegan left because others tied his hands. Mike Ashley has single-handedly destroyed Newcastle United's Premiership status and I hope he never sets foot in the ground again and his ties to the club are severed permanently. I hope the fat cunt goes bankrupt, loses everything and suffers for the rest of his hopefully short life. Getting away from all that though I'm already trying to look at the positives, we can now start again and hopefully rebuild, oh, and it'll be easier to start as Newcastle United when the next Football Mananger game comes out. I can't say I'm not gutted, I really am but there's nothing to be done about it now, just need to take it on the chin, pcik ourselves up, dust ourselves off and come back fighting!

Aye, we deserved to go down. Mike Ashley can consider his mission accomplished, I just hope we can clear the deadwood out now and rebuild. We will be back, HOWAY THE TOON!!!

I have faith

I'm not going to watch it, just listen and I won't be wearing my home top either - it's all superstition for me, which itself is odd because it's the only thing I have superstitions with...

I guess I fit in to the category of one of the fans not borne of Newcastle but adopted in the early 90s - until that point I had never been interested in or even liked football. I've stuck with Newcastle United ever since, be it the good times or bad and I have no intention of ever changing - if we go down I see it as WE. I'm proud to be a fan of Newcastle United and I thank you for your post Stevie, it is exactly how I feel.
-
I would genuinely be interested in seeing a graph showing both teams from the beginning, the reason being that I see the two clubs reasonably on par as far as far as what they've won is concerned. The only major difference being fan base and current ground size.

Newcastle defender Bassong stuns Toon: If we go down, I'm off
TheMoog replied to Craig's topic in Newcastle Forum
From the Chron: The last bit amused me, just clarifies Wise's scouting talents for me. -
Just watched it again - there's fuck all wrong with it and Schwarzer used it to his advantage IMO. I agree - perfectly good goal. Shame you can't appeal goals really

Getting away from the 'Soopa-fan' debate, Kev was fooking awesome though
-
I sure do, still, I know when I'm right - regardless of whether I'm at the match or not
-
The club's fucked while Ashley and his cronies have anything to do with it, I'd be gutted if Shearer left but would I expect it? Yes.

Agree totally. I can't believe any of the fans who were around for his fist time as manager (And definitely those who suffered all the shite before him) can think he's anything other than a legend here. No one man has ever made the fans of this city so happy and proud of their club as he did, giving us so much enjoyment, belief and hope along the way and lets not forget saving us from falling into division 3 and possibly going out of existence. And that's not even thinking about his time here as a player! Is exactly how I feel. That Viva La Keegan video 2J did always brings a lump to my throat, I'e never felt so excited or entusiastic about football as I did when Kevin Keegan stepped through our doors - anyone who says differently just isn't a true fan of Newcastle United if they say otherwise. Bollocks. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to suggest you are not a fan of the club if you don't hero-worship Keegan is bullshit imo. For the record I had grave doubts about Keegan's return and his motives, doubts that still remain despite Ashley clearly being a prick. Your suggestion that that somehow makes me less entitled to support our club than yourself is pretty obnoxious tbh. I can live with that, I guess you know where you sit in my eyes then. There was always going to be concerns about Keegan returning but I'd far more trust being under his stewardship than pretty much most managers I can think of, life was good as a Newcastle fan both times when Keegan was manager because I always looked forward to every match. A true fan would understand Keegan's worth imo.

Two things, it's laughable that they have to rely on other teams to mock us and they can only dream they'll ever be as big as us

Yep, it bothers me that there's teams down there who are used to that league and will probably have more money to spend than us as well.

Freddy Shepherd plans Newcastle United return

I'd still go for it, bollocks or not
