  1. I'd play Perch right back, and I remember how shit he is at full back but Simpson is a fucking charlatan. Just lacking in the very basics. He was in such good positions but he takes an age to control the ball and he doesn't seem to be able to kick the ball properly.
  2. Fuck me, what are Aguero, Tevez, and Silva going to do against that defence? Tonight, I can handle the fact that the likes of Simpson and Williamson are not footballers (neither of them could trap a bag of cement), but they can at least attack the ball. Our entire defence, including Colo and Santon let them bring it down and gave them so much time and space. Tiote was fucking awful too, so was Jonas and Cisse just looks lost. That said, we could easily have sneaked a point so I can't see us being in any relegation trouble. It really doesn't take much to beat some of the dross around us.
  3. Aye, he's been ok, neat and tidy.
  4. Our defending has been fucking shambolic today, and I include Tiote in that.
  5. Woeful stuff this, no movement off the ball, passing when we do have it has been poor, the players don't really seem arsed. We're still in it though, Fulham don't look like much cop, they have Chris Baird in centre mid FFS.
  6. Leftfield: Leftism Underworld: Dubnobasswithmyheadman Chemical Brothers: Exit Planet Dust Sabres of Paradise: Sabresonic Daft Punk: Homework DJ Shadow: Endtroducing Snoop Dogg: Doggystyle Laurent Garnier: Shot In The Dark Primal Scream: Screamadelica LFO: Frequencies
  7. Exactly. Yet another big 'fuck you' from professional football. It's getting harder and harder to like this sport. I've never been as disinterested in football as I am currently.
  8. They did the essential mix as The Dust Brothers. I taped it off the radio (those were the days) and it was tremendous. The tape sadly perished a few years ago. It was the remix of The Chemical Brothers' Life is Sweet which got me into Daft Punk. I'm so out of touch with music these days, just happy to stay in the 90s!
  9. Bravo, really excellent list. I presume you mean Homework for Daft Punk. Couldn't wait for that album after some of the remixes they had been doing beforehand. Preferred Exit Planet Dust to Dig Your Own Hole though.
  10. The way he prattles on about his articles, you'd think he was Hugh McIlvanney. Are any of his Mag articles online?
  11. Considered too indie, same as Glenn Medeiros.
  12. No Leftism and no Dubnobasswithmyheadman? My two favourite albums of the 90s and also both accessible enough to be included on the list.
  13. Has he fuck, he is always an option and wants the ball, and even put a decent cross in (which I agree isn't his strength).
  14. 2 points above the relegation places, jesus wept.
  15. He was immense. Rose and Garcia too, both winning 17 and 18 to win one up was pretty special too. What a turn around since yesterday.
  16. Just utterly incredible, what a summer of sport.
  17. Just read the last 2 weeks of his nonsense. What a fucking bellend he is, reads like the tweets of a 10 year old boy who has been dropped by his football team. As someone said, he needs to give the internet a rest for a while.
  18. The start to Shallow Grave by Leftfield is a personal fave. Would stick the youtube clip I had a scooby what I was doing.
  19. Went to see the ladies handball last night, it was brilliant. One of the Spain players was a dead ringer for Titus Bramble, she got sent off.
  20. As a matter of interest, have you spent much time there (or even been there)? As for the enthusiasm, it's not just 'pro-plus pill popping twats' (if these people do indeed exist), a lot of them are genuinely warm people without the cynicism that we have. Don't get me wrong, I like our cynicism but some times it's refreshing to meet people with none of that. We're in no position to call any nation a disgrace given our history, they are a new country making some of the same mistakes we made in our past.
  21. Happy 4th of July to all the yanks on here. Belting country the US, some of the friendliest most enthusiatic people you'll ever meet. Not without it's problems (such as the fucked up political system) but spend any decent amount of time there and you can't fail to find some part about it that you love. Some woeful negative chat on here from people who clearly know fuck all about the country.
  22. I really think you are being selective here, I'm pretty sure the majority are happy with the progress we've made and aren't expecting much else. Anyway, that's by the by, anyone who gets wound up or taken in by the media (particularly given the state our media is in at the moment) and/or celebrity no nowts needs to get some perspective.
  23. That's bollocks for Euro 2012. The media has been fairly downbeat on England's chances this time round, nobody expected us to do well and we have already exceeded most people's (including the media) low expectations, whatever happens from here is just a bonus. Using the example of some numpty from the Christian O'Connell is patently nonsense. You need to have a word with yourself for even listening to that in the first place.
