  1. Going to Tunisia for a week. Probably will get bored but I've never been to Africa before so should be a decent enough experience.
  2. Rumours are also circling that Alan Shearer is set to come out of retirement to play for Sunderland while also being Roy Keane's right hand man.
  3. You've got your finger on the pulse mind! Sorry.
  4. Hasn't Tyneside had a few murders this year? And Gateshead is part of Tyneside last time I heard.
  5. I have to take my hat off to David Moyes for making a mid-table team with the odd great player into a top six team. When Arteta arrived there he didn't have a huge reputation but I reckon he's been a superb player for them and is one of the best wingers in the league. If he were English he'd be first-choice for left-wing and would be worth £15m+ I reckon. As it stands, he's Spanish and can't get into the Spanish national side.
  6. What are the necessary qualifications for surveyors? Do you need degrees these days?
  7. What did you need? I couldn't be arsed with A-levels and just played football for 2 years rather than going to lectures. Luckily they were easy enough to pass (even 12 years ago). Well done to everyone on here who got what they wanted/needed. Well done to those who didn't too, it's not exactly the end of the world. My lass has just got a law degree and she's struggling to find work, so eduction isn't the be all and end all anyway. Oh yeah forgot to add they were just AS level results, so I'm applying to uni next year. I should have probably worked harder also but it's partly the fact I'm not as smart as I thought.
  8. I screwed up a little bit... R.S/Philosophy - A Geography - B Eng Lit. - C (1 mark off a B ) Maths - C (4 marks off a B ) Resits will be my friend.
  9. What is it with there being more guncrime in deprived areas of big cities where there are lots of black people, than any other deprived areas? In London for example there's plenty of poor areas (it's a big city after all) but we the areas we hear of most about gun crime tend to be Peckham, Brixton etc where there are lots of black people. Black people, in particular West Indians tend to come from very poor backgrounds, and I'm told the latter tend to be the least well educated of foreigners and don't have stable families - maybe wrong. Is it merely the influence of rappers and gangsta culture that tends to cause there to be more guncrime with black people or is there something else?
  10. I listened to a bit of the game on the radio and heard them say he kept the fewest clean sheets in the league last season. Pretty poor for an England's number one playing in a team who finished fifth.
  11. Obviously not - they'll just say it's a slow start to the season but Jol's a great manager and Champions League is still realistic.
  12. Awesome. Listening to it now - crazy album.
  13. Magma mate when's the next update on your life going to be? I look forward to it with excitement - going to be in the traditional "five facts" form?
  14. Arteta's quality yet he hardly cost anything and doesn't have international recognition. Don't think Everton mind though as he won't attract Spanish attention and can churn out consistently very good performances for them. Johnson had a great game too. Everton will need another striker though.
  15. Would have loved to have seen both of them go, but for two completely different reasons. Andy Carroll because he needs game time to improve on his massive potential. Shola Ameobi so he can fuck off and not play for NUFC again. MattM4...is that you???? Good to see Shola being treated nicely as always.
  16. Funnily enough, Everton have still been the better team in the second-half, while 3-1 up.
  17. It's fair enough - if hardly any fans can be bothered to turn up the players might as well not bother to please the fans.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Abdoulaye Faye replaced by Amdy Faye to go with their other quality signings of Gavin McCann and Andy O'Brien. Abdoulaye Faye would be a very good signing for £1.5m and could be excellent cover in defence and midfield.
  19. I agree with you that it's meaningless and shouldn't be criminalised however I don't see why people are getting all fussed at the issue as they probably wouldn't be if another t-shirt had a slogan in an attempt to cause offence but without anything to do with religion. I don't get all the uproar - do people feel threatened by religion? I think its censorship involving religion that gets some people annoyed, because its something that is totally unproven and shouldn't be allowed to govern the lives or choices of individuals who don't believe any of it, yet it does. It wouldn't be accepted for anything else, for example you couldn't get things banned on tv/film/theater/t-shirts etc. because it offended people who believe in ufo's or who believe like David Ike that we're being ruled by giant lizard creatures in the guise of humans! Religion plays a strong role in people's life though and it some cases it defines them. I think there's a big difference between someone's religious beliefs and the belief that somebody is a lizard. A secular person's perspective on religion is that it's irrelevant and has nothing to do with them, but it's a whole different issue if you are a religious follower. Like I said I'm not here to argue for any abusvie messages about Jesus on a t-shirt (as I really couldn't care less and I doubt most Christians do in fairness) - just saying why people think it's an issue worth dealing with.

  21. A little bit of over-simplifying here don't you think?, It may well only take 3 hours from Newcastle to Kings Cross by train but what about the time taken to get to the Central Station and the time taken to get to wherever his kids are in London. If you know London and how big it is then you know that 3 hour journey could turn into 6. I agree it's his own fault but you can't fault him for wanting to be closer to his kids under any circumstance if it's at all possible. Well to be fair it won't be nearly as long if he went via the Tube as you can get to most places in under an hour from King's Cross or wherever he'd be. However I can understand him wanting to see his kids as much as often as he'd feel very upset. At least it would only be for a year.
  22. I don't see why deliberate attempts to cause offence to religious people should be supported, but then again some people are a bit mixed up.
  23. I agree actually - shouldn't just walk into the tea ahead of Martins/Viduka and the formation will probably need to be different to suit him.
  24. I hope not, seeing as he only played 60 minutes. A place on the bench I reckon would be best for now.
