1. It's a shame Bobby Robson hadn't been younger, because when he started out at Ipswich he says he wacked one or two players who thought they would challenge his authority, because he was new and young, so he certainly wasn't a soft touch then. The vast majority of managers would have saw Bellamy as difficult, sure, but they would have managed him and got him on their side I reckon. 136018 Whilst I agree that a better manager than Souness could have handled Bellamy better, why did none of the so called top clubs (with top managers) actually take a chance on him? He played pub football for 6 months before going to Blackburn. That says to me that the rest thought that he was complete and utter cock and not worth gambling their dressing room over.
2. 135444 It's not quite reached that point yet, but no doubt it will soon. Went to a place on the outskirts of Reading, they wanted to charge me £3250 to hire a lawn. No food, no booze, no chairs, tables, nowt. 3k for a strip of grass. 135449 Fuck me sideways! That's steep. The worst is still to come I'm afraid. You'll be quizzed about what colour napkins you want, which flowers, how big the cake is etc, all the while muttering I DON'T GIVE A FUCK. 135455 Aye, but as she tolds me last night. "It's not about you, this is my day"
3. If I remember correctly weren't the club critisised for not erecting a Milburn statute until after he was brown bred. Shearers a legend, the statute is gonna happen anyway, why not now? It's not that big a deal, thing will be covered in pidgeon poo within a week.

5. My breath hums all the time, something to do with bad sinuses. I really fancy going back to bed but i'm sick of the sight of the ceiling 135433 Think yourself lucky, I'm bed-ridden at the moment too, I've just had my gall-bladder removed, not very pleasant, they operate via your bellybutton, lets just say things are rather painful at the moment to say the least ! 135443 Well I'm in prime health (if a little hungover) and intend to go out tonight and get lashed..
6. I got engaged recently, so every weekend since has been taken up with looking round potential wedding venues. Two weekends later and I'm already properly pissed-off.
7. www.swiftcover.com You have to print your own documents but they were bloody cheap.
8. I had Glandular Fever during my A-Levels, I had to sit in a seperate room and got 15 minutes extra. Felt like shite and ended up with D-E-E (obviously that was when examinations were a challenge, not like the doss ones you lot do now) I have sympathy with you. I think drinks are out of the question. Doctor told me it was the worst case he'd ever seen. Try acupuncture it got me back on my feet within about 3 weeks. P.S. You may not be aware but your breath hums right now...
9. Not my headline, stolen from Skysports. http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=38...+Given+new+deal 5 year deal.
10. What a load of nonesense from John Gibson. "Shearer can fly without wings and walk on a river of emotional tears without wetting the soles of his shoes."
11. I don't think that we should be under any illusions that this season was all about the world cup for Mr Owen though. Clearly it hasn't panned out how he, or indeed NUFC, had planned.
12. Johnson was the top English goal scorer last year & wasn't picked, remember that was in a relegated side. Bent has been in awful form so i wouldn't call it 'beyond baffling'. Interesting choices, I agree Reo-Coker should go ahead of Jenas or Hargreaves (Though he's meant to have been in good form at Munich). 133515 The difference for me is that Andy Johnson looked like a one-season wonder (in the same way Marcus Stewart did) but Bent looks like he'll score goals for a few more seasons yet. I could be proved wrong (on both counts)
13. Lennon is the same too, hes played class these last 10 games. 133508 I'm just not sure that 10 good games is enough. Perhaps it's irrelevant given that Golden knackers would have entirely immobilised before Sven would drop him.
14. Superb choice to take Lennon instead of SWP in my opinion. Walcott is a very strange choice though. 133491 Why does it have to be Lennon ahead of SWP!? How about why SWP's hasn't been picked ahead of Heargreaves or Jenas? & not even there in stand-by? 133496 Because they are centre-mids, and SWP is a winger. 133499 Central midfielders who can offer what exactly in regards to Hearvgreaves & Jenas? It doesn't have to be tit for tat, all thou that is the case...! We have a strong enough midfield, but SWP's is very versatile as he can play off the front two as well as in midfield. He can offer a hell of a lot more than both Jenas & Hearvgreavs put together.... 133503 I agree I would have taken him purely because he can play upfront if necessary (where he actually look more dangerous imo)
15. Walcott must be something special, I hope that the gamble pays off. But, Darren Bent has scored 18 league goals this season in a very very average Charlton side. To have him behind Defoe (9 goals all season) and Andy Johnson (15 goals in the championship) is beyond baffling...
16. Andy Johnson ahead of Darren Bent seems a very strange decision. After 5 years of conservative decisions, Sven has finally shown a little imagination however SWP should have gone ahead of Lennon imho
17. Have we seen the last of Bowyer in the black and white?
18. They have the ability to broadcast on Magic (MW) but not on Metro (FM) I've been told that want the FM rights back. That way they are the sole commercial station. Therefore the advertising/sponsorship costs more.
19. I bet that apology has absolutely nothing to do with Metro being desperate to win the comentary back next season.
20. I have a sneaky suspision that if all of the players knew and Freddy Sheperd knew and that manager was anywhere near 33/1 then he wouldn't be at that price for very long....
21. I'll take a PM and wonder for myself!!!
22. http://www.electraisd.net/alumni/display_class.aspx?y=1998 Third Row 6th Down... Pucker
23. I'm away for a week and a half. Will come back to a 800 pages of GOLD. Perhaps a summary thread for those who have restricted access.
