Toontastic Piss Up - Birmingham (h) 17th West Ham (h) 20th
Matt replied to Scottish Mag's topic in General Chat
Same here, not around for Brum game but will be around for WHU- same as usual- will be around 1ish. -
Given 9 Pulled us out of the shit today. Nobby 7 Did OK overall, but got caught out of positions a bit too often. Taylor 6 Not as dominant as in recent weeks. Ramage 6 Shaky opening but recovered well. Hunty 7 Got the goal, fairly solid. Milner 5 Final ball was very poor. Butt 7- Good goal- didn't get a hold of the game but given no assistance. Pattison 5- Not in the game at all. Dyer 6- Good running, first touch really let him down. Le Sib 5- Zero impact. Lack of quality laid bare for all to see. Martins 8- Thought he did well given that he had no support at all. Goal was class, of course.

As pointed out, what benefit does this have over fuel duty? Oh, hang on. Such a system would require huge technological developments. Big, big contracts for IT and management consultants (see iSoft, Accenture etc). Now what is one of the most popular destinations for ageing politicians and their mates? Ah, consulting! I'm massively in favour of keeping taxes as simple as possible, otherwise they are self-defeating. This is a stupid idea that will never get off the ground. Once these 'transponders' are released, they'll be chipped within a week. You cant forge petrol.

Not quite- they've played before on numerous occasions. Taylor hammered him at a 'Champion of Champions' game a few years back- equally Barney beat Taylor on one of the main PDC tour events this year. He's a better player now than he was in losing to Klaasen in the BDO last year. Apparently all the Dutch players are going to the PDC who are about to sign a big deal with the Dutch broadcaster who currently gives the BDO main coverage.
-
Would be interesting to see what the tournament averages are. A number of the BDO's best players are set to join the PDC this year. It's no real surprise- there are 6 or 7 live televised PDC tournaments with only a couple of BDO ones shown in bits on the beeb.

I found a copy in a small Vauxhall. Took a couple of overnight downloads but the quality is spot on.

Looks like Lauren will be available for next-to-nothing. Given our lack of full backs I think he's definitely worth a punt. While he's prone to diving into tackles, he's a solid athlete and technically sound. He badly needs games though, having been out for so long.
-
If he is charged, then the club's obvious option (unless they can find a buyer straight away) is to terminate his contract and seek compensation- in the same way that Chelsea did with Mutu. On his wages, we could expect a similar amount to what we'd get in the market for him. I'd be very surprised if this is not stipulated in the contract as gross misconduct. It's a route we could easily have taken with Bowyer.

I've had this problem before. I assume you have tried pressing a few keys to see if that has any effect on it. I did get it to work eventually, but I think it took a few goes before it finally realised the disc was in.

I guess she just likes talking about it.

Begging on the street is one thing, but going up to people and demanding money should be a jailable offence if it isn't already. Most people who do it are just filthy charvers anyway. I usually end up losing 20p or something. I usually hear "is that all you've got?". "It's all you're getting".

When you say your ethernet port will not work- do you mean it doesn't work with the router or doesn't work full stop? There are any number of minor things that could be preventing your port from working. Make sure you have automatic IP enabled and DHCP enabled on the router- this will ensure correct assignment of IP address. USB connections are nothing but trouble.

The problem when dealing with issues in the Middle East is that you can divide most countries into religious denominations- it's the way the country has developed. You could equally say a lot of conflict is down to ethnic divisions- Kurds in Iraq and Turkey for example. My problem is that too often every conflict is linked with religion therefore the argument follows that getting rid of religion would solve this problem- when of course it wouldn't. Right now the Sunnis and Shias are blowing seven shades out of each other in Iraq- they all beleive in the same God, Prohpet and so on- but do so in a very slightly different way. But it's not religious- it's tribal. Religions, like languages, evolve and develop their own nuances within an enclosed group of people. That is why in an increasingly globalised society those differences will be laid bare and will form the source of many conflicts for the forseeable future. The Israel question however- is fundamentally a religious one- though there is obviously also a great deal of politics involved with regards to western control over oil-rich areas. The "religion is all at fault" argument is way too simplistic, and it's implementation in policy would only serve to create even greater problems.
-
Surely that is primarily a land conflict- they are fighting over Kashmir and terroitorial supremacy- not who is the 'true God'.
-
I think we could squeeze them for more than £10m, not much more- but when people are talking about Hargreaves for £17m then I think we could nudge a desperate but wealthy chairman up to £12m.

I went to a Catholic school and several of our RE teachers said 'look, a lot of this is clearly bollocks'. One female RE teacher even explained that there's nothing wrong with soft porn and couldn't understand the fuss over images of the human body. Bridget is right with the funding info. Faith schools, Catholic ones in particular, face a bleak future as there simply isnt enough diocesean cash to keep the upkeep- which is why many are now becoming specialist 'colleges' (technology college, science college etc) as it opens up a new route of funding from the govt. I'm in agreement that state schools should not teach a religion, but it's important that the concepts are understood. We want children to make decisions for themselves, but make sure they are informed decisions. The only thing going for faith schools is that they tend to get slightly better results- though this is now pretty much eroded- a long-term decay from the days when they were the last to go fully comprehensive. Of course proper education reform would render them obsolete but don't expect any of that in this 'one for all and all for one' shambles we have at the moment!

I hope your joking ? So do I- the London Boys are dead, and have been for several years!

All eggs in one basket? Might be your way of doing it but not mine. After all, if you work out the numbers there must be muggers, burglars, fraudsters, rapists and murderers who could in some way be deemed to be a 'supporter' of Newcastle, or any other club with any sort of significant support. I look around where I sit and can point out any number of nefarious types who I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire. Doesn't make me one of them becuase I happen to support the same team. What exactly are you expecting to prove by posting the link? Fishing for an apology because of the staggering stupidity of some of the N-O mob? Like there's some sort of massive conspiracy? I mean look at the wonderful and reasoned reaction of the Liverpool fans on there... What a level-headed bunch. Thank God one poster had the sense to suggest it was hardly likely to be a majority verdict. All you are doing is proving that both sets of fans are not short of those who like making sweeping statements with no understanding of the underlying reality.

While asking £20m for Hargreaves? They're being very hopeful.
-
I think he's a fantastic player, but would cash in should Bayern come knocking.
-
fuck you fat man I'm down to 13 and 1/4 stone at my worst I was 14 and a half! lose anymore weight and people would mistake me for a flagpole! 13¼ stone for someone 5ft 10 is waaaaaaaay to much tbh... What about 15 and a half?

I just couldn't be arsed, getting in and out of town was a nightmare.
