Agreed. And the potential impatience of the owners concerns me. If Howe goes, who comes in?! There’s a fuckload of work to do with an existing squad of players - something we know Howe is exceptional at. If he can’t get a tune out of this lot, who can? The players really need to be looking at themselves. They looked disinterested second half. That’s not good enough.

Nope

I think it's the going rate for one of the stand out attacking performers of the season before. We're questioning the value because we've not seen any fruit being borne as yet. In the same way Liverpool fans feel they've overpaid for Isak and Wirtz. Ironically a lot of people think Arsenal overpaid for Gyokeres yet think Mbeumo represents good value despite them costing the same and having scored the same.

One of the saddest aspects is that kid is representative of the future of the United States and Trump will no doubt try to eviscerate him for daring to speak ill of him. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Trump sets his goons off to root out his parents and get them deported as a direct consequence of him speaking out. What a tragically sad state of affairs.

This one is a robot. The real one was killed by the Republicans

Evidenced more than once in the Trent over the years, no doubt

Tis but a flesh wound. Glad you both came out of that relatively unharmed. Nasty accident by the looks of it.

I don't think we've overpaid for him, I just don't think we've found how to get the best out of him yet. It'll take time, and patience from us. Gordon is a different issue for me - we know he can do it for us, he's gone off the boil though and in some respects for his sake I hope he is injured because that would at least explain why. Barnes should be starting for me, and at the moment I'd persevere with Elanga to give him more time on the pitch. I'm fairly certain unlocking the potential is high on Eddie's match/training notes

This for me. I think he'll drop Joelinton or Bruno at times to allow Nick to fall in behind Wissa.

The biggest risk of with Elanga is the potential that sections of the supporter base could turn on him to a point where there is no return. At that point it's a complete waste of £55m. The bloke had an intrinsic link with Aina much like Salah did with Trent at the dippers. There is work to do, evidently, but not all by him. We know he's got it in his locker, we need him to be working with Tripps & Livramento when fit and we need to be starting him.

Right back and central midfield. Wingers aren't a priority at all. Gordon is clearly fucked and needs some time on the sidelines which accounts for him being shit - I don't think he's been right since he pulled up playing for England not long after the Cup Final win. Elanga is better than we're seeing, it's a crisis of confidence for me. Weirdly I think he'd benefit from others being unavailable - I think it's all too easy to hook him if it's not going to plan at the moment. I think, also he'll benefit more once Hall & Livramento are back.

I'd see Noah Levenstein as aspirational if I were you.

I used to use the handlebars on my racer bike as makeshift rocket launchers when I was a kid as well

Will remember it for 2 things: 1. Our CL game there in 2002 2. The massacre of Claudio Caniggia
