  1. Craig

    Fathers Day

Same here - he never has. Unlike Mothering Sunday, there's no religious connection it's purely commercialised. I'm the same with my kids too - I've asked that they don't buy me anything, instead I like to do something with them that they'd enjoy. Being a father is about enjoying time with your kids IMO, not getting a present or card once a year.
  2. HF, we all know that Allardyce was not your choice of manager but are you seriously going to to knock every signing he makes? Combine the signings (serious improvements on what we have) with the fact that the club has been sold to a billionaire and the shambolic Shepherd era has come to an end and things are look a damned sight brighter than they did a month ago. Just 4 weeks ago we had Shepherd as owner, Roeder as manager, and no-one was looking forward to the summer, let alone next season. We've been given the 'golden ticket' we've all wanted for so long. We HAVE to be happy about it.
  3. You can just imagine Brock quickly throwing his Newcastle shirt on prior to taking that photo to try and detract from his true allegiances...
  4. Jesus christ and they say the law isn't corrupt! Meanwhile in other news, LA County Sheriff's office announce that the July 4th celebrations, previously cancelled due to lack of funds, are going ahead after all!
  5. Am liking this one - very effective...
  6. Sadly, it's rumoured to be just that! I'm beginning to wonder if that was the bargaining chip that Ashley had to use to get Fred to sell.
  7. Talksport were reporting the same this morning but stated that Shepherd is likely to stay and remain the person doing the day to day running of the club. I..........FUCKING.............HOPE............NOT!
  8. That hideous witch was a ringer all along IMO!
  9. 3 to be fired? Final next week then?
  10. Definitely not Given. Great leader of the defence, but he can't do fuck all further up the field. Nicky Butt IMO but it depends on who else comes in.
  11. He's a serious improvement to the squad. I'm pleased and so should the rest of you be.
  12. Yep, the benefit of a buying a Dell is you throw in the Service Tag on their website and it gives you all the standard drivers for your specification. I'm with the last two though, re-format should be the very, very last resort.
  13. There's no way you can even talk about Sibierski in the same sentence as Viduka - Sib is a midfielder, Viduka is definitely a striker and can compliment both Owen and Martins. A three-pronged attack with them is very appealing...
  14. Dyer played quite a bit of his Ipswich career (where he made a name for himself) at right-back. Was pretty good from all accounts.
  15. Whilst the theory is there, I think it'd be more credible if we'd been the ones doing the invading rather than the defending. I agree that I think she won the election in '83 on the back of the war, but I don't think she 'engineered' it. There's very few people who despise Thatcher more than I do, but even I can't blame her of that one. Then again, some have accused Blair of pushing ahead with the invasion of Iraq with elections in mind. The intelligence was there for her to put a smaller force on the island to deter them. But then the airport would never have been built by the company with a certain Dennis Thatcher as its director. Even if that is true, you make it out as though she's the only politician in history who's used her position to 'gain' in other places. They're all as bad as each other.
  16. Looks like it's a done deal then...
  17. as a base idea, i like the way the olympic rings were encorporated into the word London on this design - shame they couldn't have worked from that - it's simple, but effective
