He did, but he's a truly awful man, virtually destroyed 2 clubs with transfer deals for some absolutely gash players... going to get found out in the champions league btw tonight i reckon. Should technically be in jail as well. I don't think getting beat by last years winners is being found out to be fair.

Anyone thinking that things are getting good under MA need to take a step back imo. CH deserves all the credit he is getting. MA has done one thing right and thats shut the fuck up. Then again, when I sat in my seat before the Sunderland game and looked back across the pitch I was faced with that butt ugly fucking sign plastered the full size on the gallowgate end roof. Hideous. I'm not giving Ashley credit for anything except putting an end to the constant wasting of money. No chairman knows what'll happen when he appoints a manger. They have to hope for the best. Backing Souness to the hilt didn't exactly do us many favours. Like I said, Ashley's got lucky with Hughton. He's a find, he really is. I don't especially care about the Sports Direct signs so long as it means he invests in the club. It's not pretty but if we start solidifying our position and pushing on I can live with it.

It's all down to Hughton IMO. Ashley has the easiest decision he'll ever have to make. Let's see if he's able to.

All Ashley has to do is give Hughton the contract he deserves, keep looking for deals that suit the club rather than the player's agent and spend a bit of money in the next two transfer windows. We've got lucky with Carroll and Hughton especially, we really do have a chance of building something good here. Something tells me he'll blow it though.

Williamson 8/8 Barton's corners were great. All right into the danger area, and the vast majority to a Newcastle player. Always been a bugbear of mine since the Robson days our poor corners, wasted on hitting the first man. Sad but true.

I'd give him a 5 year contract and get Nolan lined up to be his assistant when he stops playing. Stability is what we've been missing for years.
