To be fair, unlike Woodgate he was pretty much alwasy fit and in top form until the world cup injury after which he's had a disasterous run. Because it's not one long term thing happening over and over and is just a freakish run of incredibly bad luck with injuries, illness and the like i think he has to keep trying because if he can get a run of games going he will soon be back to fitness and form and can then hopefully avoid such a random collection of mishaps. But if it does just keep happenign then he will know himself when to decide to say that's it and give up, but i really hope that doesn't happen. The Falcons need him and England certainly do, when it comes to pressure kicking to win games when it counts Charlie Hodgson isn't even close to good enough and England always need that level of kicking.

He's a complete tit who would ahve been locked up if he wasn't " a celebrity" since he alwayss eems to be getting done for drugs, assaulting the press and indeed spraying syringes of blood at people. The fact that some people think his music somehow saves him from being a complete twat is worrying since i heard two of them and to call them medicore would be kind. If thats's the stuff he gets heralded for then he'd be a legend and hero to the country if he'd produced some actually decent music.

I'm hoping i'm wrong but i think the aussies will win it, ranging from close to a bit of a beating, but you never know. The worry is we have lost Vaughan as captain and batsman who has done it before against the aussies. We've lost Jones who was a vital part of winning the ashes and ended up with the best bowling average for England, he'll be a big loss. Throw in Flintoff's fitness and lack of matches/bowling which is a worry and Harmison's form and we have some problems. Also the aussies are almost invincible at home, we gave them a kick up the arse and they want revenge, so it will take an almighty effort from England, but here's hoping they do it! If they manage a win or even a drawn series they deserve to be legends after winning the last one as well!

I can't believe we just won a competitive penalty shoot out and yet i felt we would for some reason. I think one reason is that its away from home, when we're at St. James the pressure is really all on our players and i think you often find away teams win the shootouts.

There's definitely a curse at this club! We know some of our injuries are down to piss poor coaching and fitness work from the people who run this club, combined with rushing back players who aren't ready and playing people with injuries instead of having them operated on...but the number of freak injuries we get and injuries out of nowhere to players who invariably have never had anything like it at previous clubs is frightening!

The Sib strikes again!!! I think he's looking like finishing top scorer this season which says everything...but fair play to him for his efforts so far in his time here. I know that getting through this round of the cup means yet more games to play when we are struglling as it is, bit i think we really need a win for our confidence and so would like to win this one tonight.

Totally agree. It is sad enough for a grown man to make the complaint to the club, but you can accept that if that's how he genuinely feels. But the appearance in the press shows he's just yet another attentions eeking whore who's happy to expose the club to further embarassing press to get his face in the papers and act like a distressed superfan who doesn't take shit from any of the players!

Agree with that. The thing i liked about Gates was he said what he thought and had a go at the club and chairman regularly. If Macdonald genuinely doesn't know why people are having a go at the chairman then he shouldn't be any where near a footballing discussion!

He'll get stick but not as much as Souness for the simple reason that whilst he's nowhere near good enough, he is believed to be a decent bloke and Souness was a complete cockend. And secondly as somebody said fans are now directing more anger at Fat Fred than the manager so that takes some of it away from him.

The way he went about it was embarassing as is the norm with Fat Fred, but the sentiment was correct and Barwick needed a slap...as does Shepherd!

Its typical Arsenal and typical Wenger, ever since he's been there they've been a bunch of spoilt brats who behave appallingly when things don't go there way and whinge like bairns when they lose. As Sir Bobby Robson said after yet more of their spoilt bastard antics when we beat them, they need to learn how to lose with dignity, not like the shower of tossers they are. I may have paraphrased Sir Bobby there a bit!

Apart from maybe Gullit, the rest of us wouldnt have even appointed those managers in the first place. To be fair to me at the time Dalglish seemed like a sound appointment. That's why i left him out. Dalglish seemed to everyone to be the right appointment and you can't knock Fat Fred for that decision as it was a good decision which just didn't work out as planned. Gullit with a bit of thought wouldn't have been his choice but isn't Fred's worst choice by far, that honour goes to Souness and he's followed that with Roeder!

With Fat Fred the one thing his defenders will always say is that he always "Backs his managers with money" This is true, but it isn't his money, its the clubs and anyone of us could sit there taking out dividends and handing out the clubs money to managers. The difference is that the rest of us wouldn't have been hadinng it out to Gullit, Souness and Roeder at various points in our chairmanship, because we're not fat imbeciles!

When they ask Wenger about it after the match, he'll say he didn't see it!

If its true (and i'll wait to see first) then it shows just how poor our coaching staff are. Because when he was here Bernard was rarely injured, gave everything for 90 mins and always took a right battering, there was never a fitness problem and if they can't get him fit in 2 months they are a bunch of morons! You can get a non-footballer fit with 2 months of intensive training, weights, diet and other regimens to get you in shape, to get a footballer in shape in 2 months is easy. And if they say he's still not "Match fit" then play him in some fecking matches!

Fair play to them all then! Somebody said the same at the match, suggesting Curbishley and it has some logic behind it. He's used to this end of the table and what's needed to stay up, he'd be better than what we have, is out of work and i think would come. But you'd really want to just give hima contract to the end of this season and see what happens and i don't know what he'd think of that.

If he could have sorted out the defence and got us scoring i'd have taken him over what we have now!

The major worry is that NUFC have always been saved by their home form, we could always rely on picking up points at St. James to cover us, this season i have yet to see us play a single team at home that i would even rate as high as average and yet we have failed to beat all but one of them. Under Roeder now we are pretty much the same as under Souness but for one difference. And that is that we were complete an utter shite under Souness but he kept getting bailed out by individuals like Shearer, Robert or whoever pulling a goal or assist out of nowhere despite his piss poor management, he had a short run of games where Owen saved his arse with goals and he had incidents like Barry missing the pen against us, Clark's last minute equaliser vs the Smogs etc. Roeder has us in as big a mess as Souness but will get the bullet earlier because he lacks Souness luck, and thats ironic since all Souness ever did was whinge about him having no luck!

I suppose if it was one going on dvd then you'd be on TV and you know how much people will do to get on TV these days! Speaking of Ross Noble him and Paul Merton were on cracking form on Have I got news for you on friday as ever, always works well with those two in tandem!

It is so obvious, the number of different players that take them, the lack of ideas and the shit delivery tell you there is little or no work on them, and the same goes for defending them! People are now seeing exactly what happens with players when your club has the very worst coaching staff going. You see them disorganised, clueless, lacking any sort of gameplan and knowledge of what they should be doing and the players get steadilly worse instead of improving. And i don't even want to start on throw-ins because our are beyond a joke!

To be fair its not unexpected, i'm just waiting for Fat Fred to come out with somethign sayign Roeder was the fans choice and the one we all wanted, because when he hired him fulltime he said that to get his excuses in early! The fans wanted Hitzfeld, O'Neil and a few other managers you could name, they thought Roeder had done a great job saving the season and was a great bloke but he was never any toon fans first choice that i've spoken to.

He wasn't having a great game but we all know exactly where the game was goign to go 2nd half and how much we'd struggle and even off form he's about our only chance! He came the closest we managed to scoring, either by mis-hit cross or as some peopel thought from the replay, deliberately trying to sneak one past the keeper. With Milner i didn't have a big problem with him being subbed as his crossing when under no pressure at all actually defied belief with how shite it was, he did 3 within about 30 seconds at one point. If Milner only got paid if he managed to clear the first man more than once a game he'd be broke! As usual he worked hard and got into some great positions but his end product was woefull! What everyone wants to know is what has Carr got over Roeder, some dirty pics or something because no matter how he or other people play at RB you know he'll be straight back in the team asap!
