  1. It was his worst game for the toon today like. And great stuff from tactical mastermind Roeder to start at home to shit opposition with Butt AND Parker in the middle, we weren't away to Madrid and it may just be me but i'd try and attack shite teams at St. James! Then when he makes changes to alter his initial fuckup he takes of Nzogbia who we needed to stay on and Butt who'd played alright compared to Parker and needless to say we got worse. Liked the people who award man of the match giving it to Milner who'd been subbed, people had a good laugh at that! Personally since he was half time hero i'd have named Scott Sellars man of the match!
  2. Its true, the end product from our wingers (plus fullbacks when they have been attacking) and the final balls from our other midfielders have been mostly appalling so the strikers have had nothing to feed off. Well played Millner but we need alot more of it and well done Luque for beign in the right place and before that he'd actually held up the ball well on several occasions which is far from his best role in the team.
  3. He has the look and build of Van Der Saar about him and seemingly the ability albeit it on one games evidence. Class debut, he's big, dominates his area, gets out quick and cuts down the options for strikers and has the reactions for a big lad as well. He's young enough at the moment that he won't panic about not being a first team regular so we don't need to worry too much and as somebody said when Given is fit again he could go out on loan somewhwre if we want him to get games under his belt. I'd pick him vs Sheff utd. tbh, if you show you're good enough you should keep your place but i don't see Roeder keeping a young lad in the team when somebody older is available.
  4. If you want the success and trophies you will 9 times out of 10 have a twat as a manager like Mourinho, Fergie or Wenger and your team will contain some right arseholes as well. Benitez and Liverpool are about the only recent English club to win a major trophy with a decent bloke as manager and players who by and large didn't irritate me at all. But i'd take any of the above managers i hate if they brought us some trophies!
  5. For confidence (when you have none like us) its always good to win and play well, for strikers to get a goal and the defence to get a clean sheet, so i'm hoping we do well. We always play better in europe these days anyway, and lets be honest how could we not play better than we are in the prem! But the most important game is obviously Sheff Utd, we have to win that one as anything less is a frightening thought. And it will be a far tougher game than Charlton which we failed to win.
  6. Yeah, i've been to see Ross Noble a couple of times and the people he uses from the crowd he's pretty gentle with tbh, unless they bring it upon themselves, whereas Jimmy Carr would really rip the piss out of you! Fan of both of them though have only seen Noble live.
  7. Why, has he been touching you where he shouldn't again?
  8. Should have taken a leaf from Gemmill's book and went home to ABUSE some junior board members. You agreed with me, mong boy. And...ahem...am I talking to myself here? "Did yous stay in the Trent til closing then?" Respondez! Pretty much i think, we were asked to move downstairs and as we'd finished our drinks we left, not sure of the exact time.
  9. Its all kicking off in here isn't it!!! I think there is two seperate issues here. One that people are entitled to be pissed off when somebody who doesn't go to the match criticises those who do go and suffer the shite we're being served up these days. Two that what he actually said is right in the sense that the piss poor atmosphere, moaning, getting on players backs, booing and generally offering little or no support does indeed help the opposition and when we are struggling the crowd gets worse, then the team gets worse and so on. Obviously the team themselves have the major part to play in the results we achieve but the atmosphere of old would certainly help them out, but those days are long gone. I mean it was only a very small minority but i heard people booing the team off at half time yetsreday FFS. We'd played some good football, had no luck and were doing well, but the fact we weren't already 4 or 5-0 up and playing like Barcelona meant they felt the need to boo the players by half time. Still look at the storming second half performances we've seen this season to show exactly how much booing players before the end inspires them!
  10. "I'm just stopping for the one...." How many "just the ones" did we end up having?
  11. Thats what i said at the time. Their player started what fouling there was, then Taylor went past him easilly and as soon as he realised Taylor was away and heading into for the box he took a dive, clutched his face and hit the deck like a little twat. The linesman who was a yard away and saw it said play on, but the ref felt that he knew better from yards away than the bloke right next to it!!! Taylor (their's not ours) then dived again when he was beaten by a player, then fell over/dived a third time, then committed a bad foul and was generally comical all night!
  12. He's been out of form this season though. He's been more use than Emre. i reckon there's a shout for playing le zog inside. he did well there under souness and it is his prefered position. Gotta be better than Emre, plus he wont need to cross as much as he did on the wing which has been his weak point this season... He's a better option than Emre in the middle this season and Dyer would be as well. One of our problems this season is we have no playmaker with Emre usually losing possession, taking terrible set pieces and then losing his temper in the 2nd half of matches and creating nothing. If Zog or Dyer plays in the middle then you have smebody with energy, movement, direct running and attacking who (as shown against Portsmouth) will offer us more going forward and then Nobby has more options to pick out with passes. Its not ideal for the nearest thing we have to a playmaker to be outwide but Nobby is the nearest we have and so we need somethign else in the middle like Zog or Dyer with Parker/Butt. The Portsmouth game is the first time this season we really played soem good football (especially taking into account the weather) and part of that was the likes of Zog, Milner, Dyer and Rossie giving us that energy, movement and attackign play we've lacked. And speaking of Rossi, its embarassing that Roeder has pissed about this long to play the lad. He looked sharp, had a good touch and intelligent use of the ball, movement and times his runs perfectly so we actually had a striker where he needed to be! He looks like a good finisher, has pace and worked hard for 90 mins as well. So well done Glenn for keeping him out the team!!!
  13. NO, just I doubt Shearer would be mates with an alchy psycho like some people are making out. I don't trust people from Hartlepool anyway, period. Did you used to have a pet monkey that went missing or something?
  14. For fuck's sake, when are they going to open their fucking eyes and realise that what is being written IS the popular belief of the fans. Surely they've got people trawling the forums on the web to gauge supporter opinion or are they seriously displaying blind belief? Never really thought forums did anything but gauge the opinion of specific groups of fans. As a sample I dont think they reflect general opinion particularly well tbh. Some seems like the mongs you get on 606. Others are those that enjoy each others company cos they agree with each other. Nice comfy communities and thats why they go there. There are exceptions of course. Having said that I agree with the sentiment Craig that a good many people want FS out. He is a thick skinned fucker though as can be seen after the 'dogs' comment. Fans wont get shot of him. The right money will though. Why sell a cash cow? Well, speaking from personal experience I don't know anyone who supports Sheherd any more. It's not just forums - listen to the 3 legends, read the Mag or tf, read the comments on Winter's article. Only 2 years ago if I couldn't get to a match I'd have a dilemma whether to sell my tickets (always plenty of takers) or give them to friends or family. Now I literally can't give them away - if I'm not there the seat remains empty. I think that says it all really, and as far as I can tell this forum represents the fans anger and apathy with the board quite well. The difference is very noticable these days. Nobody wants to go to the match but feels they have to and then sits through 90 mins of shite, you can't sell spare tickets, everybody is talking about NUFC and footy less as its so depressing and not one person, magazine, paper or anything else is defending Fat Fred other than his personal bitch, Anal Oliver.
  15. You wouldn't be fishing for a reply from anybody in particular there now would you? Tbh though whether it be message boards, in the pub, at the match, at work or talking to friends i haven't heard from anyone who defends Fat Fred now, there is literally nobody left who can't see him for what he is and how he is fucking this club up from top to bottom.
  16. We are a much better team with him in it. Hes one of the few who can create space for others, take a man on and carry a ball. He also allows us to break, push teams back when we are being pressed. He has his faults but he provides an awful lot that isnt obvious. Of course if hes spilled your pint then hes nowt but a diseased little prick..... Agree with al that. He has most of the things the current team seem to lack in pace, movement, energy, us direct at attacking and likes to run at people. We are absolutely desperate for him to play. The only problem is we're all waiting for him to do his hamstring after about a game and a half!!!
  17. I've bought the DVD and notice the commentary is done in character by Garth, Dean et al! Also on fridays is "Man to man with Dean Learner" which featured Garth as the guest in the first show.
  18. Yeah, i'll be out for drinks afterwards, its about time we had a few people out for a while after a match.
  19. we ended that season playing relatively bad football and it was looking bad. hindsight is wonderful but it was time for Robson to go. He should have gone before he actually did. The fact that since robson we've had a load of muppets has not helped. yeah lets blame a half-fit striker for martins etc going missing. good one. Martins was one of the brightest players on the pitch today for us. He wasnt great, but that tells you how pathetic the others were. And you speak as if Ameobi would have set the world on fire if he was fit, sorry but he just isnt a good player. In fact, he's rubbish. so rubbish he's scored 5 in a team that is doing NOTHING. but there is very little point in re-hashing the whole ameobi shit or not argument. He's practically crippled and playing through the pain barrier and runnign himself into the ground, in a team creating less than nothing yet has 5 goals. I'm one of the fans who don't think he should be a first choice striker for us at all, but christ he deserves some credit this season for what he's done and what he's put up with.
  20. we ended that season playing relatively bad football and it was looking bad. hindsight is wonderful but it was time for Robson to go. He should have gone before he actually did. The fact that since robson we've had a load of muppets has not helped. Correct. The chain of truly disgraceful mistakes Fat fred has made began there. At the end of that season it was clear Bobby was starting to lose it and should have been moved on (or upstairs) at the end of that season so he could go with a bit of dignity. Then we could have had the close season to scour europe for a top class manager and coaches, give them a pre-season and the chance to buy their own players and take it from there. But instead fat fuckwitt kept Bobby on too long, then fucked him and the club up by saying he was going at the end of the season, he then sacked him at a stupid time, went and made the worst appointment in history AND paid Blackburn for soembody theyr were about to sack. He then kept Souness on after a shite season, gave him loads of money, then kept him on again way too long in his 2nd season, gave him millions in january and still kept him on when even David Blunkett could have seen he had to go. Then he sacked him and cost us millions in compensation as he'd given him a ludicrous contract. Got Roeder and Shearer in (woohoo one decent decision from the fat man), then back to being a prick as he yet again turned down the chance to go for top class management and coaches in the pre-season prefering the cheap Roeder option and the worlds worst coaching set up. Now will he sack Roder with no plan other than "Operation get Shearer at all costs, even if the worlds best managers went mad and offered their services". Have i missed any of the absolute fuck ups Shepherd has been responsible for???
  21. Depends on how quickly he can get Shearer to give up match of the day to take on this mess!!!
  22. We will never get anywhere until we have a top class manager AND a top class coaching/backroom staff set up from top to bottom. This will never happen with fat fuckwitt in charge of the club as his idea of the ideal set up consists of: Shit hardman brit manager or cheap manager who played for NUFC Coaches: A geordie with no coaching experience at all and a bloke who does nothing whatsoever but permanently remains on our staff
  23. But look beyond the results and at least think of all the entertainment we've had this season... Its a good job fat fred decided (yet again!) that a top class manager and a genuine experienced and class coaching set up is pointless when you can have people who are geordies, understand the club or are a good laugh to have around!!!
  24. The club have treat Shola like shit this season, leaving him with an injury that should have been sorted and then running him into the ground when he's clearly getting steadilly worse with the injury, yet he's still scored 5 or 6 goals in a team creating nowt despite his injury and he'll get no credit for it.
  25. I seem to remember he did Glass again on another occasion as well as several other dangerous tackles in the times we've played them. He's a good player (as show by the smogs being even worse when he's injured) but the bloke is a complete twat who has tried to end a few careers in his time among other antics.
