  1. In the chronicle they are saying Krul is highly rated but they don't want to throw him in yet so they will be looking to bring in a keepr as cover for Harper.
  2. To be fair and equal in my contempt the Hindus and Sikhs in India don't exactly have a perfect record in this respect. True, there was also those Sikh protests stopping that play at a theatre a while back which were pretty bad. But in a world sense you hear from them alot less and don't see such regular explosions of protest/hate/anger etc.
  3. A good post. Anyone who thinks all muslims are like the lunatics we hear from all the time is wrong, but that doesn't hide certain facts. And one of those is that as a religion it has far more angry, volatile, over the top and at times extremely violent reactions to any random slight they percieve. To challenge the view your religion is evil and hate filled by bombing churches, attacking a nun and holding mass protests round the world wanting the pope dead etc. because he mentioned some quote from years ago is just frightening! And that following on from attacks on all things Danish when they published some cartoons in a newspaper, and there are other examples which always result in mass angry protests. I hate all orgaised religions to be honest, but if somebody had come out and said the same comments about christianity you would probably have had a few priests on tv have a whinge and a few people getting mildly annoyed and probably not much else, particularly as the quote was from the bloody middle ages or soemthign like that! People who think all muslims are like that and think they are actually evil etc. would be morons, but anyone who doesn't think as a religion it has far more dangerous and over the top reactions than other religions and leads to more trouble these days are being naive. I mean when was the last time you can ever remember any catholics, protestants, jews, buddhists, mormons, quakers, jedis...etc. etc. going around burning, torching and destroying things and demanding the death of people who have insulted them, not very likely is it? And i don't like those religions either (except the Buddhists and Jedis of course!) but you don't see this same problem en masse with them. And as somebody mentioned earlier in the thread i found it amusing that the pope apologised since he's infalible and represents the will/word of god. He should be sacked tbh!
  4. Now thats the kind of truly random yet great quote from a classic comedy that i like to see being used!
  5. I'm the same, fans up and down the country can dish it out but they can never take it back and act like little brats when it doesn't go there way. If i was Roeder and we're 2-0 up i'd have spent all the last 5-10 mins winding the fuckers up and tough shit if they didn't like it!
  6. Great result and a clean sheet as well is always good! Have to wait and see what's happened to Given though which could eb a worry. Sounds like the West Ham fans got exactly what they deserved.
  7. None of his business as usual! IF Owen had done some sort of promo work or personal appearance the day after his injury then Keane would be right, writing an arcticle when injured is irrelivent!
  8. Well this is NUFC and since everyone thinks we're in for a defeat and possibly a good beating it would be just like us to pull a win out of nowhere. But like everybody else i can see them scoring at least one and worry if we will create enough. Its away, its in London, their two new Argies will no doubt have a stormer against us so its all stacking up against us. So what the hell i'll go for a toon win!
  9. Woodgate on loan was always worth the risk of his injury record because the bloke is unbelievably good and transforms any defence he is part of. Not getting Campbell, a proven class centreback at the very highest level for free was ludicrous.
  10. Hope he gets done for something whether he did it or not! And to be fair he should long ago have been under investigation under the trades description act for calling himself a manager.
  11. Extras was excellent as ever, with some great stuff from "Cheggers" who did a great job! Enjoyed Mitchell and Webb as well, some really good stuff in there, i like Mock the week too, and as somebody said Frankie Boyle is always good value on that. Throw in Dragon's Den which is always entertaining and its an unusually good nights TV!
  12. No, but the comic character Lennie Beige had an orange face like Wes Brown!
  13. You're right about Arsenal not imploding meaning from the neutral point of view its maybe less exciting. But lead by the media and their regular arsenal jizzfests, even toon fans seem to forget quite how brilliant the football played under Keegan at our peak was. That football was as good as anything arsenal or anyone else has produced to watch, it just didn't match up to these other teams in terms of success and trophies won. I'd rather watch the Keegan team than anything i've seen before or since for entertainment, i'd rather we'd been slightly less entertaining and won something overall though.
  14. There is truth in what you say, but you cant just blame the parents. Dont underestimate the power of the food industry to feed us unhealthy shite for profit. It is not as easy for a poor uneducated family to eat healthily as you seem to think I wouldn't expect everyone to have an imaculate diet, i never have myself. But if you do eat some or alot of crap then you get off your arse and excercise, play sport etc. And it doesn't take any level of education to do excercise, that is entirely a choice as to whether you do or don't/whether you get your kids to or not.
  15. Ha! I've been telling you for the last few years that it would happen to you eventually. Get in there! It doesn't show though, nobody has even noticed except me and it'll soon be gone!
  16. The obesity thing is getting out of hand in this country now mainly because of some truly useless parents who if they were starving their kids as badly as they overfeed them would be done for child abuse. Throw in our current culture of blame everybody but yourself and that nothing is your fault and you need do fuck all about it that requires any effort and there's a big problem. With apologies to the 1% of fat people who genuinely have a genetic, medical or other valid reason for being overweight that is beyond their control the rest are entirely to blame themselves (or parents when it's kids who are obese). The simple fact is anyone who eats less, eats healthy and who excercises well and often will lose weight. But that requires effort, will power and discipline and so its better to make up a load of bollocks as to why you're obese and do nothing. I never excercise and my diet is appalling as it has been for years and finally i've started putting on a little bit of weight, its my fault and nobody elses and so i'm doing a very small amount of excercise to balance things out a bit!
  17. Never bullied anyone as its an appalling thign to do and there is no excuse for it. Wasn't bullied either, which was strange considering i was a short arse, a swot, wore glasses and didn't follow any of the trends and other crap that everyone was into each particular year! Actually, forgot to say it never happened at school, but when i was young a lad near where i live picked on me for a while until i smacked him in the face and after that he never bothered me and was always nice to em afetr that. Left me annoyed i hadn't twatted him from day one!!!
  18. He's done the written and the oral, but not the practical???
  19. Experience tells me that that isn't necessarily a good thing, in much the same way as mine, posted above, isn't actually a good thing. It depends if they are Millie Tant man haters or the variety that are fit and bend down a lot with short skirts on and are waiting to be converted I guess. Because obviously lesbians only fall into those two categories. And if anyone makes a joke about me being a lesbian, I'll knack them. So you're the first kind of lesbian then?
  20. Happy birthday to both of you!
  21. One things for sure, whether people think Bramble is beyond redemption or not, he'd have been a damn sight better with Woody and/or Campbell alongside him (as would Taylor) as both are just the right player to bring the best out of Bramble/Taylor.
  22. I'd stand on their throats personally!
  23. That's part of the problem tbh. He never shys away from putting a hit on one of the big beasts. He's braver than his body realistically allows him to be. That gave him the "stinger injury" that caused him problems, but really the other injuries are nothign to do with his amazing tackling ability, he's just had terrible luck picking up about 3 kne injuries, groin/thigh problems (i think) and then random things like a burst appendix and the like! There's obviously a risk when you tackle like he does, but he did it for years without getting an injury directly from it and so i think he's right to keep playing as he does until he seems to regularly suffer injuries directly relating to those tackles. This recent injury is terrible though as it looked like he'd turned the corner and would be back for England for the autumn internationals.
  24. Stop me if I'm wrong, but the club are continuing to offer him new contracts. What is so wrong with signing them? Do you think perhaps he should work harder in training and show Roeder that the key to solving our defensive woes is to play two goalkeepers? He's not sitting there on huge money refusing to leave and 'doing a Bogarde' (and even then, I'm on Bogarde's side). He's doing a job, it just so happens that job doesn't involve a lot of playing. He's there week in, week out- it just so happens we have a very good first choice goalkeeper who rarely gets injured. Honestly, there is no pleasing some people. Exactly, and i'm glad he does it as we get cover for Given should he ever get injured. Harper had two choices: 1. Go to a lesser club and prove himself, play regularly and see where his career would end up Or what he did: 2. Stay in his home area, be well paid, use his time to go to university, be around friends and family and have a nice easy life, but obviously suffer not playing regularly whilst always hoping you'll get a chance sometime Nothing wrong with what he's done, i could never bring myself to ever play for another club and set of fans i either couldn't care about or outright hated and if that mean sitting on the bench for NUFC then that's exactly where i'd be. Winning a trophy with a bunch of pricks at manu/arse etc. wouldn't mean anything to me as i hate them I don't know if that's how Harper feels, but i'm glad he stays here as cover for Given
  25. He ended the final with the injury that he subsequently found would put him out for a long while. Since then he's just had NUFC-like luck with injuries and illness including shoulder, neck, both knees, apendix to name but a few ailments. But he'd be mad to retire for many reasons. Firstly he's young, was one of the best players in the world, and the best kicker in the game and he absolutely lives for playggn rugby as mentioned above in that he's percieved as being boring (like Shearer!). Until this current injury it had looked to be over, he ended lasts eason fit, had a pre-season that went well and was apparently looking good and throwing himself into tackles like he used to. So i think he'll definitely keep going.
