1. We've got similar tastes in comedy (Mighty Boosh, Arrested Development etc.), but I fit into that category. LOVE Curb Your Enthusiasm, HATE Seinfeld. Although the latter is very, very slowly growing on me, I haven't seen any of the episodes you mention, and I think part of the problem is I started with the pilot, moved forward, gave up. 183094 I'm a big fan of Curb and Seinfeld, but even though they have the same creator there are plenty of people who like one and dislike/don't watch the other as they are compeltely different types of comedy. Seinfeld does require you to watch the early series (which were very short, one being about 4 epsiodes!) and get used to the characters and the programme and then it takes off and just keeps getting better and better and then maintains that high standard. But based on the pilot and the frist few episodes you wouldn't think it wasa classic or even close! As for the episode "The Contest" at the time for a primetime network sitcom in the USA it was incredibly risque and groundbreaking (not that it should be, but it was!), particularly the fact that a female character was participating. As you said in this thread that shouldn't affect whether you find it funny but it was a really big thing at the time and they deserved credit for risking it.
2. Talladega Nights. It's about NASCAR racing, Ferrell plays good ole boy Ricky Bobby and Sacha Baron Cohen plays his French rival. 182369 Thats the one, will have to look at some reviews on the net.
3. I have to admit I've liked everything I've seen Vince Vaughn in and Wedding Crashers was no exception. Dodgeball is my favourite though. 181783 Will Ferrell's character in Wedding Crashers is superb, the rest of it is merely ok. My fave of that ilk is Anchorman (anyone who has seen it should recognise my username btw). 182358 You are right and you have one of the best names on the board as anyone who's seen the film will know! There's a new Will Ferrel film out soon isn't there, i think its currently no.1 in America.
4. I think I've just come. 181912 I think everyone will if that price turns out to be real! Everytime i read something about this it goes up, i've variously heard 2.5, 2.9, 3, and finally 4.5 which even though its a loss of £4m is still more than anyone could have dreamed we'd get.
5. I've long been sick of the NUFC policy of ignoring injuries and the required solutions and instead having players go back and forth between playing and being injured when it could be sorted out once and for all. One advantage we do have now is that we have Roeder who will put the players/club first rather than fuckwitt Souness who put his own selfish ends first so any players we do have struggling with injuries won't be chucked back in too early resulting in more serious injury.
6. Audition stage is great fun to see the colection of loons, morons, freaks and disturbed individuals who are beyond shite yet believe they are amazing! Once it gets to the studio stage its one big karaoke competition which ends with Simon Cowell making loads of money and somebody getting a 1 album career!
7. Until having realised he's signed for NUFC he pulls a hamstring 5 mins into his debut!!!
8. I'd give Zog a shot up front, he has pace, runs directly at people and loves having a crack at goal. And with Duff first choice on the left i want them both in the team if possible so this is worth a try. What is more important though is getting Zog signed up because if we don't, come the end of his contract we'll see him snapped up (most likely by Arsenal) and watch him devlop elsewhere when he's about the only young taleneted player we've found in years!
9. Reverse of last time many years ago when TV cameras quite clearly showed a Pakistan bowler gouging/tampering with the ball and the ball itself clearly showed what had been done, yet they got away with it.
10. I don't think Luque has shown that much in his time here and Roeder obviously doesn't like what he sees. But until i see the bloke get a decent run in the team starting games and playign with soem level of confidence and full fitness i will reserve my judgement. He's show the odd flash of what he can do and maybe it will turn out that he isn't cut out for the prem, but so far he hasn't had a decent crack at it yet for me to write him off completely yet.
11. Yeah, its seriously annoying that Souness the cockend has cost us about £6m on the player, but who is likely to pay more than this for him and it gets his wages off the bill as well. If the £2.5m can go towards a decent replacement for him then Roeder will have made the best of yet more shite Souness has left him in.
12. A few people have tipped Fulham for relegation, looks a decent shout even if it is very early days!
13. Maybe that'll teach you to get there on time. Especially Mr. I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE ARE LATE! 181407 I wasn't late as if you check this thread i at no point stated a time i would arrive at the Trent, otherwise that is when i would have got there! It was Bridget's fault as she caught me out by arriving at mine on time so i wasn't ready and we caught the bus to town after that one!
14. Typical NUFC injury curse. We have one striker so before the game i said how long till he gets injured and it was nailed on if he played well and scored he'd pick up an injury. The hip thing has been going on way too long though and should have been sorted out a year ago.
15. Paul Jewell was on sky there havign a good old whinge about the ref, which he doesn't usually do much of, bit disappointing. Apparently the ref should have booked a load more of our players (for what i have no idea) and he gave us everything the whole match basically. Which is interesting as in the lead up to their goal their keeper jumped into Shola and yet they got the freekick! Along with several other dodgy freekicks around out box and Shola had a claim for being fouled in the box a while before our first goal. Fisrt half the ref was adequate, second half poor but he didn't favour us over them. As for the performance, obviously poor but we got a season off to a winning start which is a rare experience! We obviously could do with 1 and preferably 2 fullbacks and 2 strikers as soon as possible as Shola was left on his own too often and we lacked enough of a threat. But fair play to Shola a goal and an assist is a good days work for any striker and under Roeder he has maintained his 1 in 2 ratio of goals.
16. Especially when they take the longest route possible off the pitch! Also whena player is literally a yard or less from the touchline and the ref allows him to fanny about getting treatment for whatever imaginary injury he has on the ptich, stopping the game instead of just booting the fecker the extra couple offeet to put him out of play! 180080 Fair enough, if the referee thinks someone is faking an injury. He should be entitled to send the player off then. But I hate is when there actually was a foul, probably on your set piece specialist, and he has to get off after receiving ten seconds of treatment and isn't allowed to take the free kick. 180083 Indeed, it can be that on the few occasions when somebody is actually injured and not faking it they get fouled and then have to go off the pitch so they (and their team) suffer twice!
17. The current Sir Les might have a chance of a game or two the way things stand!

19. It should never have got to this stage. Just do what they do in rugby even if that is a sport that doesn't have hundreds of compete mincing tarts playing it like football does! You go down injured in rugby and the game goes on, you get back up and play or the physio comes on but the game doesn't stop unless it was really serious. If cheating footballers and managers know the game will not stop for them they will stop arseing about on the deck and get on with playing the game.
20. We can't help our being right and your being wrong on so many issues!
21. You do wonder about Murray. Seems to have the talent and confidence required but at times he must be the most unfit young athlete in world sport as he struggles with 4-5 set matches and regularly seems to be injured or ill half way through longer mateches. Hopefully his new coach will sort that out!
22. And if you want hip hop and blues get the song Nas did with his father which merges blues and rap, called "Bridging the gap"
23. If you can spare the time between buying personalised no. plates and being wrong on here feel free to check what i've said about Hargreaves. Plus what he has/hasn't done coming on too late in matches that are going badly in the wrong position would not be a reflection of his performances for 90 mins in position and so people could quite easilly say he hadn't done much for England (which he hadn't, mainly thanks to Sven) but is a good club player as shown by his achivements with Bayern.
24. Was more talking to Auld Man Shinton. 179082 Auld man Shinton sounds like a character the meddling Scooby gang have just foiled!
25. They've probably gone crazy and based the decision on his years of playing well with Bayern instead of one England game, but what do manu know eh!
