Ours isn't.

I just had a chill in my occipital, a Pavlovian reaction.
-
Feels a a bit like the Anita and Bigirimana summer, for me.

Apparently he's off on loan to a Spanish club on loan. Anything permanent deal for less than £20m would go down as a significant PSR loss.

She was happy enough to be in front of the camera, and I think that is huge for our club. More so than a lot of clubs. Honestly think there's more demand for news and updates from our fanbase than many others. There's now a vacuum, we would get updates and messages from an owner, now we hear everything from Howe and his power reaches only so far. What would help is Eales, or his replacement Hopkinson or Reuben being camera friendly. But I doubt that'll happen.

You've had your emoji reply, your day is made.

That's a lot of words for "I'm a wum"

I'm calm, that's the problem. My interest and excitement will return. It's impossible for them not to. But This should be an exciting time, as it stands, it's hard not to be disillusioned.

This explains PSR, but it doesn't explain the training ground, the academy, the stadium etc. This is because our appointments (or their achievements) at the exec level have been, by and large, poor. Eales gets a little grace due to his illness, but what significant thing did he actually achieve prior to that announcement and why has it taken so long to announce his replacement? The man announce his resignation September last year. What has Silverstone achieved since his appointment? We brought in Jacobo Soli who apparently is a European investment expert and yet...
-
Saudis don't care enough to get involved in the day-to-day stuff, that's what the Exec board is supposed to be there for. PIF don't get involved in the running of their other investments, do they?

Had a bit of a contretemps about the McGinn rumour with a mate who's a Villa fan (Born in Hong Kong, grew up in Scotland so no idea why he supports them and neither does he, just "always has"). I said that it made little sense because he's older, he wouldn't be likely to get into our starting 11 ahead of Bruno, Joelinton and Tonali so he's likely one for the bench/rotation. Given that, it makes more sense for us to sign a younger promising centre mid who can command smaller wages, won't require as many minutes, and has a high(er) ceiling than 30yr old McGinn. Hoo boy, you'd think I'd called McGinn a ****, and shat on his mother's Weetabix.

You're the only man where I want Coldplay to accompany our snog.

It's not about 'facing the season' I'm just not excited about it. I'm sure that when we're a few games in and we've won or been robbed of some points I'll be fully invested. It's just that right now, I don't really give a shit. I'm taking my lad to the Sela Cup game tomorrow and I wanted it to be a full house of fans excited for the season to come. As it is, I am genuinely worried his first experience of St James' Park is going to be 2hrs of flat atmosphere or disgruntled complaining.
-
But that's just it, isn't it? We're having to jump through increasing small hoops to push the ceiling higher, all the while the existing top 6 clubs are pushing it back down. Our attempts to attract players; Trafford, Hujsen, Mbeumo, Ekitike, Sesko. It's either that we're being scuppered by top 6 clubs who are deliberately stymying our progress, or it's that the pool of players we are targeting is too small. Say we make the CL again this coming season, say we win the League Cup again, will next season's Mbeumo choose us over Man Utd? Will next seasons Trafford?
-
Yeah the "regarded as futile unless Newcastle change their stance." paints us as an obstacle to progress, rather than someone protecting their asset.
-
It's not just the likelihood of losing Isak. It's the fact that we're very rich, with a great manager and some excellent players but the deck is so rigged we've got little to no chance of competing for a title or anything like that. We (and other teams like us) can't afford to get a transfer wrong, the top 6 can make fuck up after fuck up and it doesn't matter. We need to sign better players to win things. We need grow our SCR envelope to sign better players. We need to increase our commercial revenue (at fair market value) to grow our SCR envelope. To do that we need to attract commercial partners with our performances and results on the pitch and by winning things. To do that we need better players.

Genuinely have little to no appetite for this season at the minute.

Yeah we could have deliberated upon it until Tuesday.

Might take the edge off whatever -gestures vaguely at your nonsense- this is?

Have you tried onanism?
-
Jeez, where abouts do you live?

Not surprising, he only played ~1,500 minutes. 14/41 appearances were for less than 15 minutes.
