  1. I see it looks like Borthwick is going to follow Stoneman to Surrey from Durham. Big blow losing those two but not altogether surprising. At least Stokes has signed a new deal and Wood's return for England makes it more likely he will too (not that either of them play much). The second team have won their league so hopefully there's some players who can step up.
  2. I know it's just alphabetically based but it's ruined my morning seeing who is sitting directly above me.
  3. That's why I mention the confidence. We had the same problem to an extent earlier this season. We weren't crumbling so much but we were letting in poor goals at bad times. I always felt Rafa could turn that around though and for me, we turned a corner against Bristol imo. I don't have the same confidence in RDM for them as I had/have in Rafa for us.
  4. Was an outstanding goal. If he can do that then it looks like he's got the ability to make his size irrelevant. Scored some belters for Coventry last term too.
  5. 1-1. It's going to be difficult going from Derby and then down to London in a short space of time. I'll be happy with a draw and keeping our unbeaten run going. Mind you, the amount of options we have in the squad will give us a good chance to keep things fresh.
  6. With McCormack, Gestede, Kodjia, Ayew, Adomah and Graelish, they have a pretty threatening attack. Those players will score goals against anyone in this division. Like us they are on the back of two or three horrendous seasons (tbh they have been shit for a lot longer than us) so their confidence is going to be low. And they don't have a manager as good as Rafa to get things organised well. But I think they will come good and be a threat. It just might take them a bit too long to really be in the promotion hunt this year.
  7. They created quite a bit today mind from what I saw. Forest are pretty poor though.
  8. Davis Love III playing full back isn't he?
  9. After the way the first season ended I'm not sure how they'll keep it going for a second season. I'll probably get on to it once I've finished Gomorra though.
  10. Trophy's make a successful club but they don't necessarily make a big club. Teams like Man Utd, Liverpool (historically at least), Barca, Real, Bayern etc are both. Monaco and last season Leicester, are both successful but not big. We're a big club but we've not been successful for 50 years or more. Players often talk about big clubs but the reality is they're talking about success. Sissoko wanted to play for a team who are successful so that he can play in the champions league, where he mistakenly thinks he's meant to, and earn more money. They don't really give a fuck about how many supporters those teams have or how big they are.
  11. Glad we haven't looked at any Serbian defenders judging by the complete lack of marking on Murphy's goal. Canny for him to get his first international goal just after signing for us. Hopefully that means his confidence is high.
  12. Aye there's too much self interest from the clubs and too little power or inclination from the FA to make any real change.
  13. TBH it's hardly worth going back further than the premier league's inception to compare things anyway. Our league titles are about a century ago now, they hold very little relevance to the size of our club. Spur's titles might not be as far back but are just as irrelevant. What is relevant is that they have regularly been in the top six in the last ten years and they are playing in the champions league this season.
  14. I see absolutely no change from what happened in the previous few competitions. We'll comfortably qualify then be awful in the main event scraping though the group stage before losing in the next round to someone completely average. The whole thing needs shaking up, players, manager and whoever runs these things at the FA. We're going nowhere the way things are. They should look at what's went on with the England Cricket (particularly in the shorter forms) and Rugby union teams in the last couple of years.
  15. And Armstrong missed a pen. Not the best day for either of them. Although Woodman has been called up to the U21's since the mackems keeper has withdrawn.
  16. Well Brotherhood wasn't great. The series started off as a inner city drama about teenagers lives and ended up as an attempt at a revenge thriller. I was expecting Liam Neeson to turn up. There was less of the horrendous lingo blood, and at least Danny Dyer didn't appear.
  17. Not out til next week in it. Will definitely go and see that. Looks cushty belta.
  18. I assume if you'd seen the original you'd know the ending too. Never watched it myself but I might give a blast now.
  19. Agree wholeheartedly on the Purge. The premise is great but they've yet to make a good film with it. Easy watching though. Nah not seen the trailer. I'd never considered going to see it (or watching the first two and ting) but I had no plans tonight and my mate fancies it. He has odd tastes in films though. He loves quality films like Lebowski but he's happy enough watching Step Up To The Streets too.
  20. Some of my mates love it. The go off and sleep in caves. Personally I can't think of anything worse. It was bad enough being in a motor home in France with six other blokes for the euros.
  21. Well I'm looking forward to this now lads cheers. I enjoyed the second Purge film. It reminded me of Warriors and Assault On Precinct 13. Didn't really like the first one and thought the third wasn't as good as the second.
  22. Pretty much what I thought. I'll let the lad know when I see him. I think I'm going to see Brotherhood tonight so I thought I'd better try and watch at least one of the previous films. Seemed sensible to start at the beginning so I opted for Kidulthood. After struggling with the awful accents at the start, I enjoyed it. The use of Stay Positive probably won me over. It's frightening for me that my daughter is only three or four years younger than the kids in it are supposed to be though.
  23. Where does he actually play? I had assumed he was coming as a left winger but .com are listing him as a right winger. So that leaves us with two to play on the right and still stuck with Gouffran on the left. Hardly the balance we've been craving.
  24. Someone I know worked on that film (something to do with the cameras). I'd read it was shit though so I've not bothered seeing it. Didn't think much of the first one tbh.
