  1. It's a bit short but up to their usual quality.
  2. The bloke has been nothing but wholehearted for the club and for them to treat him this way is a disgrace. I've heard people go on about how Colo stuck with us when we went down but for me he'd had such a bad season when we went down, he had nowhere else to go. Jonas on the other hand had been one of our better players and I'm sure if he'd wanted to leave he wouldn't have been short of options. But he chose to stay and put his efforts into getting us back up. He's never been the greatest player with his final ball regularly letting him down, but he's always been decent and a great grafter. He's a must start for the tramps game for me.
  3. I don't think anyone is bothered enough to be taking it personally. It's true we have been piss poor and it's also true that he's been (when he's actually bothered to play) a big part of that shitness. I'd hoped last season we were seeing signs of him being back to his best but he's been woeful this season whether it's through a lack of interest or whatever.
  4. I've downloaded it. I'll stick it on me Ipod tonight. I really like that Courtney Barnett one after the first listen. Going to listen to the Godspeed one next.
  5. I've got Courtney Barnett to listen to later like. I really like what I've heard of her. I like the Sufjan one on first listen. Don't think it's as good as Illinois but it seems strong. I'll have to get the Gaz Coombes one, I've been waiting for it since his single was getting quite a bit of play on 6 music last year but I hadn't realised it was actually out now. Is Black Rivers the brothers from Doves?
  6. Aye the only semi difficult one was the player who'd only played 3 games for the wall pushers
  7. Australia seem very unlikely to lose either game I have to admit. The strength in depth of batting lineup is formidible to say the least. Excuse me if I hope for a NZ or India win though
  8. Can't say I've watched many if I'm honest. Breakfast Club, The Outsiders, Pretty In Pink, Class and St Elmo's fire from what I've seen would seem to fit the bill (as well as ET and The Godfather of course). But a film John Cusack made about a decade later certainly can't count. I think there's also a confusion that any comedy film made around that time aimed at teenagers is Brat Pack. Cat Mags definition seems more accurate.
  9. Really looking forward to the new Blur & GSYBE. None of the albums that have come out so far this year have grabbed me a great deal. Modest Mouse is canny but not as good as their earlier stuff, Belle & Sebastian is average, The Decemberists is ok and Panda Bear ranges from good to making me feel sick at times. Sleater Kinney is by far my favourite so far. Hopefully Sufjan and The Mountain Goats will hit the spot.
  10. Perez has actually performed well in his all round game though. Yes he's been far from prolific but he's rarely been anything other than very promising in games. Abeid was dog shit in the last two he played. But you're right we do (as a collective) do go overboard on any young player who has a couple of good games. Aarons being another prime example.
  11. Hopefully NZ will give India a good beating in the final!
  12. That's just a list that some IMDB user has put together. I could create one that includes The Godfather and ET but it certainly wouldn't be proof.
  13. I think the Breakfast Club (which is fucking class you mongs) is the only brat pack film of his. Lost Boys and Gross Point Blank are in no conceivable way Brat Pack.
  14. I'm far from convinced Abeid is good enough had a couple of good games before he got injured but was shit when he came back. Not saying he's definitely one or the other but he's certainly not proven himself to me yet.
  15. It will probably be the final straw for me in terms of my season ticket if he gets the job (of course since I'm already committed to next season he would have a chance to change my mind) but I don't see there's much chance of any kind of large scale protest.
  16. I think we could as easily do that as we could lose them all. I don't think it will matter in terms of a relegation threat as I think it's almost imposible for Burnley to pick up the ten points we have one them at the moment. With regards to Saturday it was nice to see a bit of fight from the players in the second half (which I wasn't far away from not bothering to go back out for). It was also good to see Jonas do so well. He should definitely be starting ahead of Gouffran and Don Cheadle for the rest of the season. I'd be half tempted to keep Janmaat in at centreback too. He looked more assured than anyone else there this season and actually looks like a leader.
  17. Alternatively, if we had someone in front of Haidara who actually kept the opposition engaged defensively, he might get pressured as much as he does now?
  18. Keep that shit up and you're going on ignore!
  19. I've been on enough times to know it's perfectly possible to shout from one side of the street to the other. It's not like it's Pall Mall!
  20. Personally I think Taylor is of premier league standard. He's not great but most of the time he's decent. He shouldn't be first choice but he's a capable squad player. Aarons from what little we've seen looks like he has a real chance too if he ever gets fit. But other than that those are really the only players we have good enough in the squad and there's a few that shouldn't be starting. If we only lose the ones you're pretty certain on we need at least 3 starters and you're talking a minimum of £30m on them. That along side a proper coach would give us a chance of having somethinig worth watching.
  21. Didn't Keegan say we should never stop deaming! It's a pretty depressing state of affairs when that's a dream for us. I do get what you're saying though.
  22. Most of those occassions where we've really scored in terms of bringing in quality cheap (Cabaye, Ba, Sissoko) have been when there has been clauses in their contracts or their contracts have been running down. Obviously I'm not saying it's impossible to do that again but it's not incredibly likely. Cisse cost about £10m and at the minimum we need two of his standard (a lot of people would argue he's not good enough). £6.7 (not massively less than the £10m I suggested) didn't really lead to getting a defender ready to play in the premier league did it? (and I'm one of the ones who defended MBiwa). Our squad is just so painfully thin at the minute, I reckon we've only got about 13 players (not including the two at Forrest) who really look up to being premier league players. And we could lose some of them in the summer. I agree that a revamped coaching staff would certainly help but we still need big changes in the team and squad.
  23. Shouting would have probably done the trick.
