  1. He's got to have been told about this now. There's surely no way even he would have called gravy-gate other wise. Even he can't be that much of a fuckwit.
  2. I don't understand why Ashley would want him to talk like that tbh. Yes you can say it invites bids but it also doesn't do much for trying to get maximum money from the sale. If he says we aren't interested in selling him that at least makes him look more expensive. I agree with CSD that he's not good enough to play for Arsenal or Chelski (certainly not yet) and I can't see what Mournhio would do with him. Jose doesn't usually collect players like he's playing FM and he's never going to play ahead of the likes of Hazard, Fabregas or Oscar. Wenger on the other hand seems to have changed from being a football manager to and attacking midfielder collector so that more possible. Would be a poor move for them though.
  3. Aye it's not the biggest source of income but it's hardly insignificant.
  4. You don't see the correlation between the massive amounts clubs have to pay players these days and what they charge for the product? Surely you don't need to be an accountant to see the link there?
  5. This is probably true. Then he'll be out til March. But I suspect as aimaad says, he'll use it as way to bring Cabella into the starting 11 without dropping Gouffran.
  6. You were mad to think that lets be honest. Of course we won't be allowed to say anything against him or we'll get called fickle again!
  7. The prices are out of hand now but as long as footballers are getting paid such ridiculous wages that's not going to change. I think safe standing areas would be the best way of improving atmosphere.
  8. They were talking up Aarons as having a chance for the weekend so lets hope that comes about. Can't see him being ready for 90 minutes like given the amount of games he's missed.
  9. I'm pretty happy with the result last night. Any point away from home in the premier league is a good point. Yes you could say that they are there for the taking and we should have made more of the oppertunity but the truth is we aren't that good a team. We are relying on quite a few youngsters (Dummett, Abeid, Sammy, Perez) and we aren't going to get consistency from players like that at this stage. We were also missing the two players that you expect to be our main central driving force in SDJ and Sissoko as well as our keeper and captain. My only real complaints are that it looks like Williamson was far from fully fit so really Taylor (whos been far more impressive than him this season anyway) should have started and Gouffran shouldn't be in the team. It didn't surprise me at all that Pardew went with him though given that Cisse and Perez both started but when we had Tiote and Abeid sitting pretty deep I really don't see why he feels the need to have someone defending from the right wing position. Cabella showed in the second half how we really should have attacked them from the start. I suppose that's where most people's disapointment comes from but like I said, any point away from home in this division is a good one for where we are at as a team this season.
  10. They certainly aren't Sun Kill Moons cup of tea going by I really liked both of them though.
  11. That's a fair enough point. There's no reason why they can't have a title based on the actual question.
  12. I think the threads have been good. There's been some canny discussions on the back of them.
  13. I'm not sure he's got the confidence to go with Cabella as one of those three though.
  14. I think I'd go for a mixture of all of those options (with the exclusion of keeping my powder dry until January as you could be desperate by then and any hope of reasonable deals goes out of the window). I think Burnley are showing (despite their recent improvement) that you can't just plan for relegation and hope to stay up. They've only spent something like £6m and that's been on the squad rather than the first team. Unless you do what we did and go down then come straight back up at a canter, you're not going to have many experienced premier league quality players. You have to add to what's most likely a squad of decent experienced players who've never lit up the premier league before and promising youngsters. But you have to be realistic and look at how many teams come up and go straight back down even when spending decent money. You have to have in mind that you might well go down and consider whether the players you bring in will go down with you or want to jump ship straight away or leave you with a massive wage bill that you can't afford. I think it's fair to say we're in a pretty unlucky run of injuries at the moment although you do wonder if some of them (I'm thinking SDJ and Aarons) are partially of our own making for rushing players back to early.
  15. That or a 4-4-2 with Cisse partnering Perez and most likely Gouffran and Sammy on the wings seems quite plausable at this stage.
  16. Looks like we'll pretty much just have to play whoever is fit tonight. Which may actually suit Pardew if he can come up with the same luck as he got against Citeh.
  17. It's interesting to see how little we've scored in the first half this season. I'm quite glad they're on a decent run as if they were still waiting for their first win, there's nothing more certain than us obliging. I am concerned about the amount of injuries we currently have and Goufrran getting back in the team on Saturday. I'm hoping Aarons is fit but I doubt he'd be able to start if he is.
  18. If he was one yellow away from a one match ban at the start of the game on saturday it would make sense that he should get a two game ban (one for reaching five yellows and one for getting sent off). The way the rule seems to work they don't count either card as a booking so he could make it to the cut off point and get away without any more cards or suspensions.
  19. So they're saying there that because a linesman can't be expected to be able to judge whether it's a players arm or chest that's furthest forward he'll automatically give the benefit of doubt to the forward. I think it's reasonable to expect a linesman to see if a players arm is stuck out beyond his body like. Funnily enough, I've thought that in the last few seasons most of the decisions that linesmen have had to make like that, they get right. It's usually more clear cut ones that they get wrong. In those cases I'd be in favour of some sort of decision from a tv ref if a goal was scored that should have been offside. In those cases it would take seconds to get a decision made and the game would be stopped anyway so it wouldn't slow anything up.
  20. Hope it's good. I've been disapointed pretty much accross the board with all of the new stuff from my favourite bands this year. TV On The Radio's new one is better than their last but still a bit off the two before that. New Porno's is canny but not up to their best. Liars, Beck and Tune Yards are about the only ones who I've really thought ws up with their better stuff.
  21. I think that that attacker getting the benefit of the doubt thing isn't actually true. I don't think there is currently anything in the rules about anyone getting the benefit of the out. It's either onside or offside.
  22. Goal kicks should be taken from the side the ball ends up at. The rule change that was made so they can be taken from either side was supposed to speed things up but only works to slow the game down. It's an easy change to make. I also think there should be some review process for yellow cards. As I understand it at the minute you can't appeal a yellow even if it's one that ends up being one of two and getting a player sent off. That's just plain idiotic to me. Finally I think referees should have more power to discipline players swearing to them or other officials. It's incredible that players are allowd to disrespect the officials the way they do. You wouldn't get away with it on a Sunday morning yet nothing ever seems to be done other than once in a while like Shola's sending off against the bin dippers last season. I realise these aren't major issues but they all get on me tits!
  23. I think this just about sums it up. We were ok and can't really say they deserved to win any more than us but they got that bit of luck that we didn't. We defended pretty well again but unsurprisingly we lost some attacking prowess having Goufrran back. I'm not sure what Cabella did to deserve dropping. I thought QPR was the best he's played all season and he's seemed to improve each game recently.
  24. I hate pretty much every other club so none of them deserve success. Actually no one deserves success, If you do the right things as a club you will get success but I think deserve is a poor choice of word.
