Would he have been registered for Teneriffe this season? I would doubt it, he was our first signing was he not? Edit: Judging by the thread on him we signed him in June. I can't imagine that he's been registered as a Teneriffe player this season.

I noticed while reading that about Shola that they also have an article about Perez to Arsenal or Manure. I was hoping we'd keep him for a year at least but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him sold earlier. The line 'Newcastle are known to sell their best players' was particularly heartening!

Aye I thought the same of Foxcatcher, although it did inspire me to read into the actual events a bit. -

Foxcatcher. Great performances from the three leads and if like me you know nothing about the story, it was a very interesting twist ending. The film definitely suggested to me that there was some sort of homosexual relationship between Du Pont and Mark Schultz (at least from Du Pont's side) which I understand Schultz has vigorously denied. Predestination. Ethan Hawke in a very odd time travel film. I like Hawke and sci fi films with a bit of thought behind them so I enjoyed it although some of the twists were pretty obvious (despite being so strange)and it did seem similar in some ways to 12 Monkeys which is vastly superior. Also watched Zulu a couple of hundred times over Christmas. Never tire of it! -
Are Newcastle United a stronger club now?
David Kelly replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
He's erroding our fan base which has got to be a bad thing. At the moment we are still pulling the crowds in but I can't see that continuing if he keeps going along the path of mediocrity that he's chosen. We might put up with it for a few years in the hope that something will change but if it becomes obvious to everyone that he's here for the long term with the sole objective of advertising sports direct and getting his money back out, that will change. That will then make the TV revenue an even large portion of the whole and financial repercussions of relegation even worse. At the moment we are probably a more attractive option to buy than we were. Hopefully that is his end game. -
I find it incredible that they are saying that Oldhams board are now meeting today to discuss this after twenty thousand people signed an oline petition against the deal. Did they think they wouldn't get this reaction after what happened with Sheffield Utd? Did they think the people of Lancashire are more accepting of a rapist than those of Yorkshire? Surely they must have known what the reaction would be before they entered into any negotiations with him!

I've seen nothing from Carver to suggest he should play any part in the coaching of the players let alone be the head coach.

The one thing that would surprise me is appointing anyone for footballing reasons.

I bet wist am fans are delighted at that prospect!

Wasn't it also his ball to Sammy against the cockney makems?
-
I disagree. I agree with Alex saying we don't necessarily need both him and Tiote in a lot of home games but a lot of the time we've been short of options. Midfield wise we don't have anyone else centrally that we could really replace either of them with but of course we could go completely off the wall and play 2 up top.
-
He keeps the ball moving nicely. I actually don't think he makes the tackles that you seem to be suggesting which get the morons on side. He's not a great player by any means but he's very consistent at a decent level. And we certainly don't have anyone better than him to sit in midfield.

Release Goufrran from his contract.

About 20 year younger!

Getting the train down tomorrow afternoon. First away game I've managed to get to since Morcambe last season. I'd take the same result but after beating them there the last two times we've been, I'm not confident!
-
It was quite expected when you consider it's pardew making the decisions. Him and Gouffran do more work than Sammy so Pardew went straight to his favoured defending wingers tactic when he didn't have Sissoko to play as the player behind the front two.

I've heard a few people say we didn't deserve to lose 4-1 but personally I thought we were shite. Looked back to what we were like pre Citeh. Colo was the worst he's been in a few months, Williamson is shit, Dummett looked out of his depth, Tiote was fucking awful and Goufrran was as he's been all year, completely useless. I'm hoping this isn't a return to the form of the first 9 months of the year timed nicely for a cup quarter final and the tramps visit on Sunday! Hopefully Sissoko will make a big difference and Taylor will be back in ahead of Williamson.

Have your opinions of our squad depth changed?
David Kelly replied to The Fish's topic in Newcastle Forum
We look better then we thought we did at the start of the season given that Abeid, Sammy, Dummett and Obertan have contributed well when we had all pretty much written them off. Perez has also probably contributed more than we would have expected at this stage. I suppose the flip side of that is that SDJ, Riviere, Cabella and Chucky have all done less than we would have hoped. Overall though I think we have more options than we had this time last year even though we don't have any players as good as Cabaye and Remy. -
I've just rewatched the last season of GOT and he seems to be going for an impression of Tom Jones on there now.
-
Can't get one because we have Darlow registered apparently. Doesn't seem to make any sense at all that. But it wouldn't surprise me if we've fucked up somewhere along the line.

It was interesting to see how much space we allowed Mikel. As the game wore on I was more and more convinced that it was intentional. Just let him have as much space as he wants as long as we marked all of their good players and if he wants to try shots or through balls he can because everyone knows he's not capable of it! It got to the point where I thought we were almost taking the piss out of him with it.

That's spot on. Jose went on about how happy he was with his team but I can't imagine that many of the Chelski fans were that happy. They created very little. Yes they had more efforts than us but we had the best chances in both halves. They had the majority of the possession but they didn't do enough with it and our defending was excellent. Still I wouldn't expect anything else from Jose.

I think he's a consistent 7/10 type player. He's just the sort that every club needs in and around the team. Even Manure under Ferguson had those sorts of players (Phil Neville, Park, Fletcher etc). He's never going to be great but he won't let you down. I thought Saturday was comfortably his best game for us.

I think he has a point but there's a level of hypocrisy that's just laughable tbh. -

He's got to have been told about this now. There's surely no way even he would have called gravy-gate other wise. Even he can't be that much of a fuckwit.
