Those were the days. Was it Blaydon who had multiple id's? He was actually a canny poster most of the time if memory serves.

I really must have had some times where I've hardly posted at all, 1.9 posts per day seems surprisingly low. Must be down to the internet being monitored in me last job. No such shite here which will be why I'm getting fuck all done!

The Secret Diary of Lee Ryder (aged 44 and a half)

I think NO hands out bans on a ridiculous basis though. I think a weeks ban for someone being unreasonably abusive or sight racism (yes I'm totally aware of how that sounds ) and would agree with something like that for Stevie on occasion and it might have worked for Leazes too. If they don't want to come back after that then that's their own decision. -
Aye from memory Burridge was a complete loon (as most best keepers are tbf) and a very useful player. His only problem was his height and the fact he was a fair age when he got here. Looking back, since I've been going to matches we've generally had a good keeper. Caught the arse end of Martin Thomas/Kevin Carr's time and they were pretty decent, then Budgie, Tommy Wright, Pav, Hislop, Given, Harper and now Krul. The only substandard one I can think of in that time is Hooper and possibly Bessant. Ok Hislop wasn't the greatest all the time but I've seen a lot worse at other top league clubs.

I think what we need is a bitchfest thread. That way if you post on there you're accepting getting abuse and we can keep threads like this strictly for slagging off incompetent local 'journalists'. -
Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I would have took Boro's offer if I was him. I'm sure if they were willing to pay that much for him they would pay him a canny wage too (probably less than the makems but they don't pay massive wages so possibly not too much less). I couldn't live with myself playing for scum and I think many of my mates would never speak to me again. I got more than enough grief for going out with a makem lass who couldn't care less about football!- 10610 replies

Can't they both just have their profiles set to ignore each others posts? At the end of the day they are both good posters and apparently Ant does a lot in the background (that us mortals don't understand) so it's to the boards detriment to lose either of them. -

I agree with that. Like I say it's a message board, he really shouldn't be winding himself up into such a state over Ant or anyone else. There are a few posters on here who I generally think talk utter shite or are on the wind up but I really couldn't get myself into a state about them, I just ignore them. Stevie needs to learn to do this tbh. -

Would have took him for a couple of million but nowt more. He's ok for a squad player but let's face it if we'd sold Ba for £7m and said we're replacing him with Graham for £5m most people would have kicked off. I know I would!- 10610 replies

I'm not saying he should, the board has a block function does it not? (Semi serious question as I've never used it). And Stevie was hardly chasing him round having a go. But personally I think I'm perfectly capable of not getting into arguments like that and if I do I can easily walk away from the thread or just ignore it. You can call me a mug or a coward or whatever and I won't lose any sleep or ask for you to be banned. I'm certainly not saying Stevie is blameless or anything like that but this place needs as many decent posters as possible (there are plenty of occasions when this place is dead) and I'm also not particularly keen on any censorship or banning if it can be at all avoided and in this occasion is could have been. -
Fuck me I didn't think I'd been on that long but I remember that board and so many names of posters on there (remember you as Dan when I first started Gloomy). Was that the one linked on .com? I think that was when I started. I remember when I left my job at that time my boss said to me when I handed my notice in that she knew I'd do well in my new job as long as I stayed off Toon Chat and Championship Manager which I spent roughly two weeks per month on!

Member right from the off and I don't even make the top fifty. I really need to up my game and do less work!

I wouldn't even argue so much with negative tactics when we're trying to hold onto a lead as long they were something more than just punting a long ball up to one of the least mobile players in the league. Especially when as (as Tom showed with his stats) the ball comes back every time.

It was but Ant really should be able to be thicker skinned than that. This is an internet message board FFS. Plus I really don't agree with banning anyone unless they really are to the detriment of the board no matter what anyones personal opinion of them is. Spammers, racists and people like Leazes constantly derailing threads (and even then I'd have Leazes back because, again like Stevie, he is actually a passionate knowledgeable bloke) I can understand but just because one person is slagging another off (no matter who was right or wrong) comes across as a little petty. -

Typical makems. They can't read what he actually said and one of them even said that we've got an inferiority complex Mind you they don't really have a complex, they actually are inferior!- 10610 replies

In todays chronicle he goes from saying we spent almost £20m in the window to saying we spent £22.5m in the next article. He and the editor there seriously need sacking. Oh and can I say bring back Stevie. He's hilarious but more importantly he's passionate about the club. The whole argument between him and Ant does neither of them any favours but banning him is a bad move. Leazes I could understand as he derailed every thread arguing how he was right along about Ashley despite no one disagreeing with him, but Stevie adds to the discussions on a number of topics. -
I see Marveaux is back in training today. Apparently his injury isn't as bad as first thought.

I'm really surprised Arsenal didn't go for him. I can only assume that they are expecting to sign Diame.- 1745 replies

Players who have played in the Champions League can play in the wafa but I think you might only be able to play one (not sure if that's one at a time or you can just register one).

Thought they'd said he was a midfielder.

I fucking wish. I stupidly had Chelsea to win as part of my accumulator. Mind you I had the yids too so I was fucked anyway!

Not a chance

There's no way on earth they'll make the top four. Spurs, Everton and Arsenal (even though they're very hit or miss) are all much better teams.
-
Why would anyone want us to play three at the back? Since I've had a ticket any time we've ever tried it, it's fell completely on it's arse. The only team I've seen using it in this country for years is Citeh this season and they've struggled badly every time Mancini's forced it on them. I can only assume he's trying because Juve have had some success with it recently but I can't remember seeing any other team use it in ages.
