  1. Food is canny enough there. Nothing special, same as Shiremoor farm really. Not a restaurant more decent pub food. As HF says canny for a drink though.
  2. At least we'll have him till next January and I would imagine the summer after. Beyond that it's anyone's guess.
  3. Two poor goals to concede, Taylor at fault for the first Santon for the second, and we did look wide open at times. But generally we played pretty well and were good for the win. Thought Debuchy was excellent, possibly just pipping Sissoko for mom. Great to see Cisse firing in a belter, hopefully he'll get back on form for the rest of the season now.
  4. Didn't he lay the ball off to Gouffran against Spurs and he won the pen the other night. Could say that's four assists. When you consider he's playing a slightly different position to what he's played before its all the more impressive.
  5. Doesn't everyone have that? I'm sure I saw something once which linked it to before we developed into humans and used to sleep in trees. It was some primitive instinct to stop us falling. That may have been a dream in itself or more likely some bullshit on some program as it's not likely I was watching a documentary at the time.
  6. Not just 90 year olds lest be honest. The old Oh Shola I'm Darkie alteration to his usual Hokie Cokie song often gets an outing especially by the pissed up! Back on topic though, Mapou has looked very good n his appearances so far and I'm confident we've signed a very good player. Think he'll still struggle to get a lot of starts this season in the league assuming Taylor and Colo stay fit (big assumption with Saylor) and in form. No doubt he'll be first choice next season though.
  7. I think It's a Wonderful Lift is his best film although Mr Smith Goes To Washington runs it close!
  8. Thought it would be soon enough. I'll be all over that tonight.
  9. Aye the prime minister having to fuck the pig was the very first episode. I think the second series has been much better.
  10. Think he missed in a friendly once but never in a competitive game. Tbf to him most of his pens are very good. Not just sending the keeper the wrong way but a lot of them hit the side net before the back and the keeper wouldn't have a chance even if he went the right way.
  11. I thought Anita had a canny game, very nice and tidy in there. Cabaye was one of our poorer performers, not that he had a bad game but he was too deep and not involved enough. Simpson we know is shite anyway so there's nothing new there. Overall I thought we played an excellent game that we completely controlled up until the point that they threw everything at us in the last fifteen or so. And even then a couple of moments aside (when Krul did his job superbly) we looked pretty comfortable. If I'd been watching another team I wouldn't have been remotely concerned but obviously as it's us I was never sitting totally comfortable until the last minute of injury time. I know it's never a popular opinion (and not one I ever usually have) but I thought Shola did really well. Held the ball up and constantly gave their defenders a hard time. Of course he'll be back to normal on Sunday so we need to put Cisse back up top and him back on the bench!
  12. This is the thing. We went into the season with our backup being untried young kids like Sammy and Shane. Now along with players like Perch and Shola (who while may not be good enough to be regular starters, are good enough to be cover) and players like Haidara who already have a seasons experience playing in a top league but who could progress to really be a first team regular. Defensively he looks as strong as Santon already!
  13. Aye, down with the man, fuck da police and all that shite!
  14. I appreciate something like that would play a part in a decision on whether to move or not and I can accept that it would reduce your enjoyment. But would it seriously effect your decision on whether or not to go to the match? Personally as long as I could get in anywhere I would go. Mind you, the fact that my seat is bang on the half way line opposite the directors box and as such gives me the best view in the house, means that I could never boycott as I would never want to risk losing that seat.
  15. Watched that second episode of Black Mirror and I thought it was by far the best one that they've done so far. Kept me thinking right through the end credits. It started off quite unsettling in one way and then ends up being something quite different. Great stuff. I also finished watching Utopia last night which I thoroughly enjoyed all the way through. Looks like it's set up for another series which isn't something I was expecting all the way through. Quite a few major characters have been killed off along the way so it would interesting to see what else they could make of it. Finally (I was finished by four last night and really knackered so lay watching the telly all night) I started watching The Fear that was on channel 4 just before Christmas, with the brilliant Peter Mullan and the bloke who played Viserys Targaryen in the first series of Game Of Thrones. Looks good from the first episode. Anyone else watch it?
  16. The pub is the best bet to watch this I think! Looks like we'll be fielding a strong team which I am glad about although I am a bit concerned on how it will impact on a very important game on Sunday. Would like to see Haidara in at left back (he's played all season in the French top league so I can't see how he can't be ready).
  17. Can't believe anyone has said that the comfort of the seating impacts on their decision on whether to go to a game. I go to a game because it's on. I couldn't give a flying fuck how comfortable the seats are or how easy it is to get to the pissers. I would actually be interested to know if any of those things really are a consideration to anyone other than those who have young children to take or the disabled.
  18. I thought it was just Saturday nights! Embarrassing bollocks this like. We'll be playing music when we score next!
  19. Messi was shite tonight as was Pedro and Xavi had one of the least effective games I've ever seen him play. Iniesta was the only attacking player for Barca who looked anything like up to normal standard. Fair play to Milan though who played them brilliantly.
  20. Aye they're all separate. Well I assume they still are. The first series was three totally independent stories.
  21. Kim Catrell in her hotter days. Not quite as gorgeous as she was in Mannequin, Police Academy or Big Trouble In Little China but then she didn't get her cat out in those films
  22. First time I watched it I got that about half an hour in. But then I changed my mind to pretty much all of the other character over the rest of the film. I don't think you can really know for sure at any point until the reveal.
  23. I've got it recorded so I'll probably watch it tomorrow (last part of the highly enjoyable Utopia tonight). I have to admit I didn't really know what to make of the first series (probably because I was expecting it to be a comedy, especially when told about what the first one was about) but I enjoyed last weeks.
  24. Had Hell Is Round The Corner on the juke box in the local the other day. The landlord was going to turn it off as he thought it had just come on as a free track. The fucking moron!
  25. Isn't Woodgate's nickname Village (as in village idiot) but he is quite possibly the most intelligent players I've ever seen play for us. I think it's Obertan's lack of heart that's more of a problem than his intelligence (although I agree that's a problem too).
