Heard from a good source that the reason Carroll got 'lucky' in breaking his jaw was because he hit him pretty much from behind when Taylor wasn't looking. Not keen on anyone fighting in that way. Cunts trick if true. That said the rest of the players seem to be all perfectly happy with Carroll going off last night (I'm sure Nolan was only wearing gloves to try and take focus off Carroll for wearing his to cover the signs of dammage to his hand).

He's done pretty well actually. For a young kid (20) he's certainly come in and made a point. Think he's showing a lot of potential. Especially when you consider he's only really played when we've been down to the bare bones so he's not had our best players to play alongside all the time.

Thought Kadar was excellent last night. Best player on the pitch for me. Butt on the other hand should be sent to the glue factory.

Fucking typical

Cory Haim so they could do another Goonies

Nah, I think you're spot on. There looked to be a good two divisions difference between the two teams last night and I think (and certainly hope) there will actually be two divisions difference next term.

Aye I have quite a bit of time for Dowie. Can't see anything but relegation for them still like.

This is exactly it for me. The only thing I can really critisise Hall for is for claiming to be something he's not. He didn't come in for the benefit of the fans and we all know it. But what he did benefitted us more than anything any of us could do. Even with the state we have been plunged into now by him selling to Ashley (and his missmanagement which isn't Halls fault) we are still better off than where we were heading before he took control. Because we were a nothing club in decaying stadium that had no hope of going anywhere but down into divisions we've never seen before!

Newcastle legend Shearer in Sunderland shirt

Still think his reaction should have been more along the lines of 'get the fucking piece of shit away from me, I wouldn't wipe my arse with it never mind wear the fucking rag'. -
He wasn't in that either. If he'd done half what people think he has he'd deserve a thread. As it is, it's of little more cultural significance than the death of Bamboo Harvester. RIP like. That was the point

Tbf to Hughton I could understand why he brought on an extra midfielder yesterday as we were getting bossed in the middle a bit in the second half. It's just that Butt is completely finished and really shouldn't be on the pitch any more. And why the fuck is he putting players on the bench that he obviously has no intention of playing.

who do you think will cut it in the premiership?
David Kelly replied to Dr Gloom's topic in Newcastle Forum
I thought they were canny dodgy together last year though. Colo looked like a clown for a lot of last season but the way he's turned it around this term (and the way he started last season) suggests to me that was mainly due to a lack of confidence caused by the change in country and complete mess the club was in. Taylor is a solid premiership defender for me. I think he suffers here from people either thinking he's much better than what he is because he's a local lad who come through the ranks or people rebelling against that viewpoint and going too far the other way. ... of course Colo's sudden upturn in supposed skill could also be because he's playing against shite opposition Like it has with Ryan Taylor you mean? Of course he's playing against much weaker opposition but he is absolutely pissing on them most of the time. A lot of players go up and go on to be solid in the premiership without looking anything like the quality that Colo looks in this division. I'm not for a second saying he's going to be as good if we get promoted as what he's looked this season but I think that given how he's played this season, that he's been a regular Argentinian International, that he was very highly rated in the best/second best league in the world before he came here and that when he first arrived he looked very good in the premier league, there is reason to believe he will be able to cut it in the top league. -

I do think we're not far from being good enough to stay up with what we currently have. I am basing my assesment on trying to move up towards the top half. -

Harper, Enrique, S Taylor, Coloccini, Jonas, Carrol & Routlege (Possibly). Williamson, Lovenkrands, Barton, Simpson, Krul, Gutherie & Smith for back up. Can't beleive so many are dismissing Colo out of hand. He is clearly a class above this league and he actually started well in the premiership before the shit hit the fan. Given that he's now had time to settle in and the club isn't in quite so much of a mess, I think he would do pretty well. Not saying he'd look as good as what he has in the CCC but he'd still look better than most defenders we've had in the top flight recently. -
Apparently that Airy is fast as fuck. Don't know if he's any good though.

Llambias - Fans that criticise are "not reasonable"

I think a simple 'Dear Dekka, go fuck yourself and your fat mate', would surfice tbh. -
They really are as well you know, they create a very uncomfortable atmosphere for the players. When I said they were shite, I didn't mean numerically though, I think 40,000 for a club of their size against someone like Fulham is a fantastic crowd. Yeah the quantity has never been in doubt it's just their attitude. I hear it all the time at work, they are on their backs at the first sign of a bad game.
-
His crossing is inconsistent, but defensively he is as fast as anyone and very strong too. I agree, generally, I think he is easily good enough to play for a top 6 team in the premiership. I'd agree with all of that.
-
Malbranque was a good player but he's passed it now, never plays a full 90 minutes for them. Richardson is a complete wanker and his attitude stops him from being a good player. Their defence is ok (not sure it's any better than ours like) and they have a good striker who can get 20 a season if he had anyone providing him which seems to be their biggest problem. I don't think they will go down but I don't think they will be far off it either the way things are going for them with Bruce struggling and as Stevie says the crowd being shite.

Not even close. Habib Beye was past his best when he came to Newcastle. He was an excellent player for us because he read the game well and when he committed to a tackle he just about always pulled it off. At Villa there's very little reason to invest in Beye. He has a few years left at best. He's there simply to be cover in the event of injuries. Mind you in our side he'd waltz straight back into the right back position. Enrique has been on the improve ever since coming to us, but always had the foundations to be an exceptional player. He's quick, he's strong, and he has a powerful left foot. His reading of the game has improved immensely, as has his ability to combine with the midfield on attacking raids down the field. Habib Beye was a dimly shining light in a heap of absolute shit. This is now shown by the fact he is behind Nigel Reo-Coker in the Villa pecking order Enrique is massively overrated by some tbh especially with people suggesting he is better than the likes of Bridge and Baines. He will be exposed for what he is should we return. Same with Coloccini Shades of "Harper for England" Enrique was our best player last season for my money, better than Beye or Bassong (who faded in the second half of the season) and I can only remember him having a couple of bad games in the whole time he's been here (for some reason the media picked up on them and seemed to think that was the way he always played). Obviously the championship is a level beneath him (as it is for Colo and Taylor) but I expect he will go on to do well in the premiership should we go up and can't think of many left backs in the country that are better than him (Cole, Evra and Clichy being the ones that spring to mind but I think there would be an argument against any others).

Don't knock it, when was the last time Leazes posted anything on here that didn't have to do with the previous regieme?
