  1. I think we might be best off out of this type of thing this summer. There is a lot of work to be done and it could end up being a distraction.
  2. I can't see us going for Ben Haim, Campbell & Hyypia but that lot would be a hell of a start to rebuilding the squad with a fairly minimal outlay. (If it were true of course!)
  3. Spoke too soon, just watched In The Mood For Love which is very similar, but better. Much better tbh, I really couldn't get away with Brief Encounter. I watched Narc the other night. Really dark with strong performances from Jason Patric and Ray Liota.
  4. People who don't stand up to let you past when you're trying to get to your seat. The used to be a bloke at the end of our row who would always just tilt his legs to the side so you had to squeeze past. He was made to regret it when I farted in his face one game!
  5. People who leave ten minutes before the end no matter what the game is like, the score is or what day the match is on. I mean where the fuck are you in such a rush to get to at twenty to six on a Sunday afternoon!
  6. He doesn't have to reduce profits to reduce the dividends, he can simply refuse to issue any dividends to anyof the shareholders. Of course, but I'm more thinking of him being able to allow Sam to spend big without taking complete control and investing his own money. Obviously the worry is the fat man digs his heels in and fucks up our summer. If Ashley can put him in a position where he either sells or risks losing a lot then fatty will have to make a quicker decision. Well if he tries to dig his heels in then we go to Plan B. Do we not have a whaling harpoon smiley?

  8. Surely once he has over 50% he can pretty much do whatever he wants with the clubs resources (i.e. give Sam a great big wedge to spend on players) and risk bringing the company's funds down to a level so as to make dividends impossible. The fat man would be sacked so he would lose his salary, divis and risk his share value dropping. Or would there be some rules to prevent this?
  9. Baines, Gudjohnsen and the fat man out all in one days news. Could it get any better than that!
  10. Where the fuck did they find him Mind you could they have possibly spoken to a thicker looking selection of the Newcastle public? You'd think they'd done it on purpose!
  11. Aye basically unless the fat man buys up the remaining shares himself he's already been rendered virtually impotent so if nothing else happens we shouldn't have to suffer his incompotent management any more. Fingers crossed that it ends up a whole lot better than that!
  12. I'd be chuffed to bits with that. Maybe wishful thinking but i'd be more than happy if our starting XI looked like this next season.... Given Baines Ben Haim Campbell Solano Duff Butt Baraja Milner Owen Viduka Have we actually been linked to him then our are you just picking names out of the air?
  13. I'd be delighted to see this happen. Mind you I was delighted when we signed Carr so I'm not the best judge of signing fullbacks!
  14. What were you doing in a Spanish airport with a mincer?
  15. Smo's surely got to be up for this!
  16. I still think there will be a lot of people who delay before making their decision to renew. I know I will go every year pretty much no matter what but there are a lot of very sick people out there who won't be taken in just by the appointment of Allardyce. They will need to see some good intent on the transfer front before shelling out hundreds of pounds. Fifteen quid doesn't make that much difference when your paying that type of money!
  17. Would be two good signings for free. I think we're gonna need to get some players in for nowt or next to nowt considering how light the squad is and if we can get two of that quality it's a good start!
  18. Beware of the bird with the brown feather, Beware of the two bees buzzing together... tbh. Like I said, clas
  19. You have to expect players of his age to drop clangers though. Adams did it till he was older than Taylor which was why he was called Donkey for years. And with the partners and lack of decent coaching Taylor has had you've got even more of an excuse. I'm not suggesting he's going to be as good as Terry or Woodgate but I do think he has the potential to be a strong Premiership player which is more than probably all but 2 of our centrebacks have been sine we were promoted!
  20. On a downward career path now by the looks of it. Not really what we want although he could bolster the squad if his wages were reasonable.
  21. I was never in any doubt that I would renew even if Roeder was still in charge and the prices had gone up. So this is all a bonus for me!
  22. Didn't have a clue with the baseball one but my only knowledge of baseball comes from Major League and Field Of Dreams. It said my love life is mediocre which is a bit of an over estimation at the minute!
  23. Well said. I'd like to see him brought in. I'd prefer to see a more experienced coach tbh but I wouldn't object to him being one of a team.
  24. Was it not Pedro who rekon'd he's the best left back at the club (admittedly this isn't hard)?
