  1. He was the best thing in Everybody Loves Raymond and has been a quality actor for many years. One of John Lennon's best mates too. RIP What did he die of?
  2. He's doing no worse than Shevchenko tbh who I believe has played more games and is certainly playing in a far better team.
  3. Yeah he does seem more often than not to rely on his pace getting him there ahead of the defender rather than anticipating or looking for a pass. He is still young (maybe) and still adapting to a new way of football so I wouldn't rule out seeing an improvement. He didn't seem to get much service from what I saw last night like either.
  4. Actually I do that to which makes it more strange that it has took me so long to give foreign films a go. I often watch films when the bairn and wor lass are alseep and the house is so small and open plan that I have to have the volume down real low so I put the subtitles on to make sure I can catch everything. And it never bothers me in the slightest.
  5. Aye it just got released on a special edition dvd a couple of months ago if I remember correctly. I really fancy Ran and Rashomon and I might have a look on ebay to see if I can get a cheap copy.
  6. I actully really fancy that Hidden. Like I said now that I have proved to myself I can watch a film in subtitles I'm sure I will pick more up. I know my sister has City Of God on DVD so that might well be my first stop. Unless Ong Bak is on again tonight (seems to have been on every night on Sky recently) in which case I will probably try and watch that because I was quite enjoying it despite the poor dialogue.
  7. Crouching Tiger is the only asian film I've watched all the way through and I'm embarassed to admit I watched it dubbed. There's a lot of foreign films I quite fancy (City Of God, Kurasowa films etc) but I'm always put off with the subtitles. Mainly because whenever I've tried to watch a film with subtitles the dialogue seems very poor as if they have just done a basic translation and you don't get what they are really saying. I watched a bit of Ong Bak the other night and some of the dialogue seemed laughable. After watching Amelie I think I have proved to myself that I can watch a film with subtitles so I will probably give some others a go.
  8. Amelie. The first time I've seen it (and the first time I've ever watched a totally subtitled film). Very good, just the type of film you never see coming from Hollywood.
  9. If they play good crosses in Martins and Owen should be able to use them. The problem with playing the two of them would come from our inability to play without humping long balls up the pitch.
  10. Tevez was very good against Everton and was unlucky not to score against Wigan.
  11. By all accounts he was fantastic up front on his own against Arse the other week. But I do agree that having someone like Le Sib (or preferably someone a lot better) does help him. He had Dyer supporting him though as an attacking midfielder / 2nd striker. In any case, I don't think he'd benefit from playing upfront on his own too much. Especially in the Premier League. Has he ever really played up front on his own for us? I don't think his upturn in form can be attributed to suddenly playing with someone else. Playing with someone who is actually able to help him I would say. i'm sure martins has played the lone ranger role this season in a 4-3-3/ 4-5-1...whatever you want to call it and has generally looked a bit pap doing so. not his fault, i just think he's more suited to playing with a strike partner....much like micky owen in that respect. I can't think of a game where Martins has played on his own like but I might be wrong. Anyway I agree that he seems more suited to playing with a partner.

I would agree with you but I would also say Dyer and Sibierski would help him by playing alongside him, only in different ways. I wouldn't argue with that.
  13. But I do agree that having someone like Le Sib (or preferably someone a lot better) does help him. That's a touch harsh on the Sib. He hasn't put a foot wrong, in fact I am struggling to think of the last player to come into the club and score as many vital goals as he has... I'm not wishing to knock Le Sib because he's far surpassed my expectations of him (especially playing out of position) and he's playing well. But that doesn't stop me wishing we had better.

  16. Depends who they appoint. You never know, they may be Souness fans!
  17. I've thought for a while that he would score goals eventually. He gets enough efforts in that he's bound to put some of them away (like Cole when he first came here). His movement is also improving and we seem to be able to play to him more now. Of course it helps when you have a player like Nobby at right back who can actually use the ball!
  18. Looking at the pictures of their new owners on Saturday night I can't say I'm surprised.
  19. I think Resevoir Dogs & Paulp Fiction (one of only three films I've seen more than once at the pictures) are both works of genius tbh and True Romance is another favourite although you have to give Tony Scott some of the credit for it since he directed it. From Dusk Til Dawn is one of the best Vampire films ever made (again you have to share the credit with the director). Jackie Brown while not being a favourite of mine is still a pretty good film and anyone who gets a good performance from Chris Tucker has to be commended. I really liked Kill Bill 1 as a highly sylised fun film but I'm yet to be able to sit through all of the second one. And his screenplay for Natural Born Killers is far superior to the film (which I also liked). Overall I think he's more than warrented any praise he's received.
  20. I reckon he's hid in a bin outside his house with a camera as we speak
  21. I've never bothered with Fox Confessor. I downloaded another one of her albums and despite really liking her voice I really couldn't stand the songs. I'm busy finallising my list but I'm Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass has been my number one since my first listen of it.
  22. Twelve Monkeys. Fucking brilliant, especially the ending. Willis & Pitt are both superb.
