  1. 2.5TDi here, so you can fuck off with that idea. You can obviously afford it then boy racer
  2. You can be the token mod lass, much like the token toontastic lass. Does that make her Leslie Ash then? Thought Quadrophenia was a pile of shite tbh but I'd be a mod. Must be an accountancy thing. Get Carter is class though!
  3. They should tax cars with big stupid engines tbh. I don't see the need for anyone to have a car with a 2 litre + engine in this country. That way you only tax the people who can afford it. Charging to use particular roads is ridiculous imo. What happens if the only way for you to get to work is on one of these charge roads. All of a sudden your £20 a week down. That's a lot of money for a lot of people.

  5. I thought Sin City was way over rated but it's still quite canny and certainly an interestingly made film. I finished off watching Brick last night and I really enjoyed it. It seemed like a sort of mix of The Maltese Falcon & Millers Crossing. The fact that all of these high school kids were going on as if they were organised crime was a bit unrealistic and it did make it seem a bit like Bugsy Malone in places but if you can get over that it's a really good film.

    I-phone

I guess it all depends what you want it for. If you want a phone that does mp3's there's already tonnes available made by companies who have a great deal more experience in making phones so I would think you would be better to go with one of them. If your after an ipod that also has a phone the amount of space for music/videos seems a little bit limited to me at the moment.
  7. Monday Morning - Pulp Monday Night Nothing - Malcolm Middleton Thursday - Asobi Seksu Big Friday - Bonnie Prince Billy Friday's Dust - Doves 10.15 Saturday Night - The Cure Saturday - Built To Spill Saturday - Yo La Tengo Saturday's Gone - Isobel Campbell & Mark Lannegan Saturday Night - Suede
  8. Cheers Jimbo. I've tried the cd cleaner but it didn't help. I've now discovered that if I just keep ejecting the disk and then retrying it seems to work eventually but it just takes a pissing age. I might try taking the cover off. I'll probably find that the bairn has shoved some toast in there or something!
  9. I really like that album. It's nothing mindblowingly original but it's a good set of songs.
  10. His last two albums have both been very good actually. Heard them, didn't rate them personally. I can't take him seriously tbh. Even The Smiths' lyrics make me laugh now. I think he was being deadly serious when he wrote them though. I really like them both especially You Are The Quarry. I only just got into the Smiths a couple of years ago after detesting Morrissey for years. Love them now though.
  11. My DVD recorder is getting on my fucking nerves. When I put a disk in it keeps saying that the disk cannot be read even if it's a brand new disk (I'm talking films as well as blank disks). But it doesn't do this with every disk some it plays fine but others (even ones that it has played before) just won't work at all. I've tried using a cleaning disk but it's had no effect. Anyone got any ideas other than taking it to a repair shop? I would just bin it and get another cheap one but it cost over £200 less than two years ago so I don't want to ditch it yet. It's a JVC btw.
  12. His last two albums have both been very good actually.
  13. I started watching Brick last night and I am really enjoying it so far (except for some of the dialogue being barely audible and there being no subtitles on my disk). The main character comes across as Philip Marlowe in High School.
  14. Seven Samurai. Tbh I didn't like it as much as The Magnificent Seven mainly because I didn't feel the same connection with the characters and the fight scenes were a bit of a let down. Still a good film though. The Long Goodbye. Elliot Gould playing Sam Spade updated to the 70's. Really good film directed by Robert Altman and worth watching for anyone who likes Film Noir. Sterling Hayden is also fantastic in a role where he wrote most of his own scenes. The Da Vinci Code. I thought it was a good thriller even though one of the main twists was completely obvious. I haven't read the book so I couldn't tell you how it compares but if you ignore the hype it's certainly a good watch if nothing groundbreaking. Inside Man. Quality film from Spike Lee with Denzil Washington & Clive Owen as well as a top draw supporting cast. You can buy it for a fiver in Asda at the moment and I would say it's well worth that. X-Men 3. Another enjoyable popcorn flick. It might not have had the depth of the first two but it's still fun.
  15. Right that's me off. Merry Christmas to all.
  16. Well I think I would be right in saying that you can download all of them from the usual sources so you've got no excuse.
  17. Finishing 12.30 then got to finish off the shopping (only Costco left like so I don't think it will be too bad).
  18. Well I've finished my list so here's my top 20 albums that most people won't have heard of. 20. Thom Yorke - The Eraser 19. Love Is All - 9 Times That Same Song 18. Serena Maneesh - Serena Maneseeh 17. Figurines - Skeleton 16. M.Ward - Post War 15. Sean Lennon - Friendly Fire 14. Jarvis Cocker - Jarvis 13. Margot & The Nuclear So & So's - The Dust Of Retreat 12. Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped 11. Subtle - For Hero For Fool 10. Califone - Roots & Crowns 9. Peter Bjorn & John - Writers Block 8. Destroyer - Destroyers Rubies 7. The Decemberists - The Crane Wife 6. Islands - Return To The Sea 5. TV On The Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain 4. The Hold Steady - Boys & Girls In America 3. I'm From Barcelona - Let Me Introduce My Friends 2. Jason Collett - Idols Of Excile 1. Yo La Tengo - I'm Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass
  19. Followed by "My Sharona" and the Smiths' "Panic". There's some fucked-up playlisters on duty at this hour. That's possibly the best three songs I've ever heard of on the radio tbh. Yo La Tengo - The Room Got Heavy
  20. I thought the trailer looked quite canny. It doesn't give a lot away but the effects at least look up to scratch.
  21. Prefered Has A Good Home. TV On The Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain That's one of his earlier EPs, aye? I'm just listening to him on the recommendation of a lad from Uni but I like what i'm hearing so far so i'll have a look for that. It's his album from last year. I've got to be in the mood for him tbh but he's quite canny.
  22. Amaretto is nice with coffee too. Don't like coffee (although I do like Kahlua (White Russians are lush)) but it's nice in hot chocolate.
  23. Just a standard amaretto & coke does me nicely then.
  24. Is this a special Christmas cocktail you've invented or are you just talking about drinks when you're sick of larger?
  25. Jesus titty fucking christ!
