  2. It was agreed a long time ago anyway...
  3. Champions League ... Championship ... people are never happy, bloody semantics.
  4. Newcastle are as close to joining a European Super League as CT winning the National Spelling Bee.
  5. Reports here say a likely deal will see the UK staying in the customs union with a possibility to opt out in the future but with the EU having a veto.
  6. Said tbh. It’s a tweet from more than two weeks ago...
  7. It certainly aren’t voices in his head as there is no sound in a perfect vacuum.
  8. Not a surprise. She was already reluctant to stand for re-election last time. Poor results are down to a shift to the right in Germany because people are very divided in regards to refugees.
  9. Ant’s answer to a question just ahead of the vote. Guess who was asking what... Strange that nobody thought about the possible effects of a vote to leave.
  10. Of course it is a new situation and of course both sides are looking for a solution. That’s a totally meaningless statement. The thing is that it’s more than two years since the refffferendum and the day of the actual exit is looming with still no agreeable solution for known problems being found. It’s something that should have been thought through ahead of the refffffferendum and before advocating to leave the EU. At the present time expecting a favourable deal for any side is just wishful thinking. At the moment it does leave especially businesses in the Uk as well as in the EU in the limbo as no one knows how trade will be conducted in the future. Well no one except you of course.
  11. Exactly, the UK is leaving the EU. Therefore those are not just negotiations with a third country but with a current member. The EU can’t allow to set a dangerous precedent. Also all arrangements with close European countries who are not already members are constructed to focus on the integral freedoms of the Union with most of them having to accept them as well. Thinking that the Union will sacrifice them for a trade arrangement with the UK is wishful thinking. The UK is neither politically nor economically important enough to let this happen even though a lot of Brexiteers seem to think that the UK is the centre of the world.
  12. The whole history and success of the EU is based on the four principles that are not up for negotiations. If one member would be allowed to leave to cherry pick and undermine the principles the system would collapse. The EU is more desperate to preserve itself than making the citizens of Lala-land happy.
  13. The only way to get some creativity into this team would be to teach them creationism.
  14. Yes, and the integrity of the single market and customs union is not only politically but also economically more important than business with the UK.
  15. Coming from the one who claims that the Chequers deal is offering everything he wants and treating it as something that’s been accepted or will be accepted that’s a bit rich. There are things in the “deal” that can’t get accepted as it doesn’t fit with principles of the EU that are not up for negotiations because otherwise it would in fact be the end of the EU because others would start cherrypicking and cakemunching as well.
  16. The Chequers that is in important parts not acceptable to the EU?
  17. That wasn’t my point. Those are just predictions and intentions as well. I am about lies and false facts regarding how the EU works, costs, current plans etc. A lot was stated that simply wasn’t true just to stir hatred towards the institutions as well as foreigners. It was the real project fear.
  18. There is a huge difference between making a wrong prognosis to claiming things that never happened and stating wrong facts.
  19. Most people were fed the lies they wanted to hear because they suit their personal agenda. Most of them still don’t care about it being lies, because getting rid of the evil EU and pesky foreigners to preserve their ideal of their little England is more important to them.
  20. Terrible news for ze German towel industry.
  21. A bit like Derby ten years ago when every team was beating them... Fucking Kenny Miller.
  22. I think a second referendum would be a good idea, one with only people being allowed to vote who can spell the word.
  23. He said the same two years ago. https://global.handelsblatt.com/exclusive-deutsche-banks-chief-economist-optimistic-about-britains-future-after-brexit-676825 Also, Deutsche Bank haven’t really covered themselves in glory economically in recent years...
  24. He could use the money he won to honour his pledge to “Pocahontas”. sad.
