Watching Holland abandon traditional values snd 4-3-3 with proper wingers Johan Cruiff is probably turning in his grave

I do not disagree. Of course it’s not possible to force other clubs to sign players. With hindsight things are always difficult to judge. But I do still believe that a thorough assessment is needed not to repeat a scenario like this and to try to improve not just our recruitment but also how to get rid of players.

Reading the decision is grim. It’s a blueprint for a fascist state and dictatorship in very much limiting the ability to hold a president criminally accountable for abusing his power. First the republican majority bottled it when they turned the impeachment trial into a farce but claiming Trump’s criminal conduct should be dealt with at courts. Today’s politics isn’t about responsibility and morality. Just staying in power is what matters, a perversion of core democratic principles and a total disregard for the rule of law.

Without Ronaldo Portugal would likely have won on in normal time tbh

Slovenians are safe as long as they keep giving away free kicks within shooting range.

Difficult to say. Maybe they really couldn’t have done anything more or different. But looking at the outcome I do find it difficult to believe that a different kind of planning could have prevented the last minute panic. Looking at it from an outside perspective I am always perplexed about the approach from English clubs in the transfer market and leaving things to the last minutes. You do hardly see this absurd last minute frantic anywhere else. Transfer deadline isn’t as big a thing in most countries. At least in Germany most clubs do their business before the season starts.

Shocking decision, shocking proceedings with two judges deciding who would under any normal circumstances have to recuse themselves. The United Banana Republic of America. Alito’s wife does probably own an appropriate flag.

“Planning” I do agree that there are circumstances that lead to our desperation that were out of our hands. But I do still think that a club should be better prepared for a scenario like this. But it does also prove that we really spent all we had in recent transfer windows when fans were moaning about our lack of activity. The English system is really nonsense and not fit for purpose but won’t change as long as there is a block of clubs who can’t allow a level playing field.

Williams is some player

No way will the Slovakians now hold on to a draw.
-
Referee certainly doesn’t like to give Slovakians bookings

Very strange not to get better performances from those players. I won’t mind a motm performance from Dubs to sell him to Saudi Arabia for 60m as it would certainly be a fair price.

I think that’s what they thought would be possible when we took a gamble with Hall in agreeing a loan with having to pay a fee to sign him later. We just haven’t been able to offload players at all. Not just the ones from the first team squad we would like to replace to improve but especially also the likes of Hayden, Lewis etc. They need to have a look to improve transfer handling at board room level because it is not acceptable to get as desperate again.

We can probably do without him but they probably robbed a player from fulfilling his dream. Bollocks.
-
Tragic how Anderson got robbed from scoring a goal for us multiple times.

The whole business is ridiculous and taking a lot of joy out of football for me. It’s ok trying to stop clubs just "buying" success, but basically forcing clubs with enough money to sell players just to comply with arbitrary regulations is plain bollocks. So we need to sell a prodigy like Anderson or an untried talent like Minteh in time of an arbitrary deadline just to probably be able to spunk absurd money on another player in the upcoming weeks. That’s without thinking about us needing to consider to sell untouchable assets to big six rivals. I am done with this. I unfollowed all journalists and won’t care about transfers. I will see what players will be there in August and then hopefully start to enjoy watching matches. But there is no excitement left thinking about how we will build a decent squad.

Meh. Fuck off. The whole system stinks.
-
We probably tried but it wasn’t deemed to be fair value unlike a bucket at Old Trafford to collect rain water which would be worth 100m.
-
He probably put some money on things at the bookies?
-
The pen wasn’t the correct decision.

Better team won in the end, but I am not sure what the outcome would have been without a very very strange use of the video referee
