And as Fop rightly pointed out, those are in the majority only splitters and religious nutters, but when you come to the to main christian churches is a view neither shared by the Catholic Church nor the main Protestant ones. I have no problem in teaching the biblical creation in a way to make people to respect nature and existence and be careful with our resources etc. This isn't necessarily bound to contradict the big bang.

See there is one of the problems. I don't really care if there is a personal god or not. And who says it was for the benefit? It is just that all we know so far, we are the only species of our kind (well except of those who got abducted by aliens or believing in 12 ft lizards). And as long as we don't know otherwise I don't see a problem in having a humancentric approach to certain things as I think tackling the issues of a peaceful living together and human ethics is more important than on concentrating on the existence of other species somewhere in the universe. We can still easily shift the goal post when the Vulcans come to visit us. Live long and prosper.

The thing is that people totally committed to science and rationalism struggle to understand the metaphysical aspect which is the foundation of religion. There might be a time in future where everything will get explained by natural laws, but until the religion and religious beliefs will always find their space. This space might get narrower all the time and churches etc. have to move their goal posts, but in the end they are always just a reflection of how to explane human existence and form a code of ethics. I also think it is pretty unfair to label religions and churches per se as scientific ignorant. Most of them aren't they might be able to be a bit slow to accept scientific progress. Creationism is a perfect example. The vast majority of christian churches (especially the Catholic churches and the main protestant ones) don't dispute the creation by the big bang. It is also that for a couple of hundred of years historical text interpretation of the bible has displaced literal understanding. So in the end scientists not understanding theism being in that context a modern humanities are as ignorant as religious nutters ignoring the scientific evidence that the earth wasn't created on October 23rd 4004 BC.

And so did Riise by not starting to sing...

A week and a half too late, but the sentiment is right. Well, if it took them a week this time to really make a good statement and without the chairman threatening to knock seven bells out of FA employees, it is fine with me.

Pah, it was a couple of minutes ago. Luque was probably reading my assessment of his situation and kicking a chair in anger...

http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...~989292,00.html It's just that Carrol can get rested for Saturday, isn't it. How the mighty (expensive) have fallen...

I also find it rather strange how long it does take the FA to collect evidence (and it's nothing more than asking for a couple of words) and set a date for a hearing. It's ridiculous how long this trial is pending and by this unsettling the player and his club. Very amateurish tbh.

I expect that to be the case too, meaning yet another transfer window purchasing midfielders... Well, we ideally need someone who isn't out injured half of the games anyway and from the rest of them playing just a handful of good ones. The thing with Emre is that we hopefully could still get a couple of millions for him to finance a replacement where we are struggling to get anything for the likes of Babayaro, Carr, Moore, Bramble who also need to get replaced.

Toontastic Piss Up - Smoggies (H) Sat 3rd March
Isegrim replied to Scottish Mag's topic in General Chat
Bambi on ice. Toontastic's very own Craig Moore tbh. -
Can make some really good posts at times too. His posts descend into this sort of thing far too often though. I only read the first few words or sentences and the ignore the rest if I see that he is in his usual rambling mode. His decent posts are normally easily to recognise by a) little spelling mistakes, especially the usage of capital letters less swear words and insults.

Birmingham is pretty horrible. Detmold. Nothing good to say about it. Germany doesn't have a real pub or night life culture anyway. I reckon Lemgo would have been a bit better.
-
Same as he mostly does, not sticking to his word. He'll probably say that the verdict was injust and that's it.

Birmingham is pretty horrible.

Has he got a date for his personal hearing yet? Otherwise his "injury" will inflame... Not that I am bothered anyway.
-
Brains? Didn't stop Beckenbauer to have a quite successful go at it...

I think it hardly possible to say if someone is really "manager material" or not. What are the prerequisites and how do you judge if Clarke has them (or not)? In my eyes anyone who is wanting to give it a go should start at the bottom level and prove himself. Then we'll see.

It would probably also delay his departure from London for a couple of years anyway... He should easily get the 19:00 flight sometime in 2009.

The ecstacy incident was a bit different to be fair. When it happen Ullrich was out for the season anyway with a knee injury and had just withdrawn from the Tour de France. He took the pills on the suggestion of a "friend" that they would make him "happy". Regarding his retirement: He has more or less lost all support here in Jormany as hardly anybody does believe him. He has hardly done anything to disprove the drug fiend allegations. He turned up on TV yesterday night and more or less refused to answer any serious questions. When he was young, he was a fantastic cyclist. A shame that he wasted his talent.

Have we scored any direct FreeKicks this season?
Isegrim replied to MattM4's topic in Newcastle Forum
People (especially Grimbo) moaned about Robert's poor service from set pieces. Robert indeed wasted a lot, but a certain amount of them where absolutely fantastic. That's much, much more than what we get to see nowadays... -
Good lord, that thread... It may yet be eclipsed by this one. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/...p?topic=36713.0 February 26th: International Moron's Day

Because Robson thought he still had Carl Cort? And Souness had a problem in judging player's abilities anyway (Faye! Nudge nudge, wink wink, know what I mean, know what I mean, say no more, say no more!).

I rather had put the Zog in the middle or put on for Sibierski. Milner should have started anyway with Solano playing at right back. I really can't understand Roeder why he is insisting on playing natural centre halves on the full back positions when he has someone who really did play well there. I'm getting fucking sick of it as well. Nobby has shown he's comfortably our best RB and helps out the other younger defenders so continually dropping him or moving him from there is moronic. And Millner, whilst still needing to sort out his final ball has done a respectable job wide right so there was no need to play Nobby there when he's needed at RB. It's all about accommodating the wrong players in the wrong positions. It's ridiculous. In any sport one of the most basic things that leads to success is the simple playing of the best players in their correct/favoured position unless you have no other choice. Our best back four includes Nobby at RB now, everyone bar Roeder can see that as clear as day. The most worrying thought is that as soon as Carr is fit (and by fit i of course don't actually mean fit!) Roeder will have him straight back in at RB as he has every single time he's returned from injury despite him being utter shite! ^ totally. It is extremely annoying and frustrating to have to watch it every single week. This is just a repeat of the Fulham (A) game. It is worrying. Everytime we win a home game, or get a result in europe etc. Roeder has an away match against poor opposition that is definitely winnable and he makes basic errors in team selection and we see a poor performance and defeat when we should easilly have picked up 3 points. Whatever the rose-tinted spec-brigade is saying, but my major concern is still, that Roeder is absolutely unable to give the team any shape and style. We look distinctly ordinary and the poor team selection doesn't help at all. The first half was ok, but after the missed (ultra-soft) penalty it was utter garbage.
