I rather had put the Zog in the middle or put on for Sibierski. Milner should have started anyway with Solano playing at right back. I really can't understand Roeder why he is insisting on playing natural centre halves on the full back positions when he has someone who really did play well there. I'm getting fucking sick of it as well. Nobby has shown he's comfortably our best RB and helps out the other younger defenders so continually dropping him or moving him from there is moronic. And Millner, whilst still needing to sort out his final ball has done a respectable job wide right so there was no need to play Nobby there when he's needed at RB. It's all about accommodating the wrong players in the wrong positions. It's ridiculous.

I don't disagree. We could do with a useful creative midfielder though.

I can't see Newcastle coming back into this...

I watched the AZ-Ajax match earlier which finished 1-1 with Davids getting sent off for Ajax. My major worry is that AZ play a decent wing game. With our problems at full back this could exploit our weakest positions.

To be fair, it was a very well taken free kick.

Coming from you it sounds rather strange. Le Sib went down by the slightest of contacts.I don't think it was a trip and if there was an unintentional one, it wasn't a penalty as it wasn't a foul.

Ah well, justice prevails. So is it Martins taking the next one?

Isegrim replied to Scottish Mag's topic in General Chat
I'm a boring bastard... You said it See you soon though hopefully. Not sure if I'll be down again this season tbh.. I am renewing next season though so will be down for every match I will also be down once again for the "Annual Summer Piss Up/5 a side though Yes, we need another 5-a-side match! And hopefully we can have a rematch of the "locals" versus the "exiles" or whatever it was called last time! I'll hopefully be in a bit fitter state then, we could do with making a bit more even the next time... -

Best chance yet was when we fucked it up in Lisbon. Exactly, no-one we faced then were as difficult as Sevilla and Bremen would be. Bremen look distinctly ordinary after the winter break, nearly threw their comfortable lead from the first leg away and it needed some great goalkeeping for them... Yep, Wiese had some great saves. Wouldn't mind Huntelaar here Rosendings who just moved to Bremen from Ajax said before the first leg that ten Cate doesn't seem to be a great fan of him, so there might be the good chance to move for him. Not that I expect Newcastle to be so clever...

The game against Alkmaar won't be easy. I've put the teams I think who are going to qualify in bold. As I said in the other thread recently, we can win against any team, but also lose, especially if we don't really improve with the injury list easing.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch Your personal hiro. Did you make yourself a birthday video compilation we all can have a laugh at on youtube?

Well, job done, we really could have done with an inspiring performance for once though... Brilliant interview with Martins on Radio Newcastle btw. He doesn't sound too fussed about Nigeria...

People like me are slagging him off because he is hardly producing anything useful himself. Saying he would make a big difference in this game is highly hypothetical. He's the only midfielder we've got that can actually pass a ball and has been our best player in europe so far this season. Theoretically can pass the ball. The amount of his misplaced passes is shocking in my opinion for a player of his talent. I also don't regard him as our best player in Europe this season. Anyway, well done Martins.
