Whitley Bay is far superior imo, better people too. You know that pub where the shooting was The Briardene, that estate there, my mates nana used to live there, and in the summer as kids we'd have a little holiday down there, was like being in a top class resort in them days. Spanish City, the Leisure Pool with the waves, the beach, the golf pitch and put, the Corkscrew, Tim's chippy, it was class, far, far, far better than South Shields.

Just reminded me of a kid I know (friend of a friend really) working for South Tyneside Council (funnily enough) who was lucky enough to hit a carrier bag filled with dog shit whilst using and industrial strimmer. It was up his nose and everywhere apparently. Best part is that he got the metro home from work. That's rank! That's one of the worst/best stories I've heard poor fella

Aye I'll have a pint with the cunt. I should wear a there's only one United t shirt.

1. SJP 2. Bamburgh Castle 3. Hardrians Wall. 4. Durham castle/cathedral (Heresy maybe) 5....40? (not a rebuttal - just a prompt for a few suggestions) You're taking the piss? There are literally 20 better places to go in the City of Newcastle alone, and I'd much rather spend time places like Hexham, Corbridge or anywhere in the Tyne Valley than shitey South Shields. I feel dirty when I'm there.

I'll copy and paste them on here. @dannysimpson12 yes I do, and that's not right neither, it's a bone of contention with older Newcastle fans in the 90's I remember the game 2:51 PM Apr 17th via web from England, United Kingdom in reply to dannysimpson12 @dannysimpson12 that decided the title we lost 0-1 Cantona scored and Sky billed it as Newcastle v UNITED it pissed a lot of people off and 2:52 PM Apr 17th via web from England, United Kingdom in reply to dannysimpson12 @dannysimpson12 older toon fans still refer to us as United. You're a good player and I think you're not at your peak yet, I just wanted to 2:53 PM Apr 17th via web from England, United Kingdom in reply to dannysimpson12 @dannysimpson12 explain this to you, I'm far from alone from feeling like this as you are probably aware by the tweets you're getting 2:53 PM Apr 17th via web from England, United Kingdom in reply to dannysimpson12 @dannysimpson12 we're not Wigan, but listen I've put my point across you can call them what u like but if offends some, play well on Tuesday 2:54 PM Apr 17th via web from England, United Kingdom in reply to dannysimpson12 @dannysimpson12 and I'll pipe down 2:54 PM Apr 17th via web from England, United Kingdom in reply to dannysimpson12 Then he invited me for a pint if we win tomorrow.

In fact I'd honestly put Seaburn above South Shields, not much in it like, but both grim grotty places no one who's normal would ever want to spend time in.
-
Aye and did you read my replies which got 80 retweets?
-
:icon_lol:  :icon_lol: Yee should be on stage yee CT. South fuckin Shields you wouldn't put in the top 40 NE destinations.
-
Could have tilted your camera a tad to the right And im not doubting the view of bamburgh castle, but again I was talking about the "seafront" package. :icon_lol: The best thing about it is a view of OUR side of the water. Class.

I'm sure everyone on here fails to understand the appeal but ST council played an absolute blinder when they came up with the "Cookson Country" shit - other places should probably follow that model if they can. Even Cookson was ashamed of South Tyneside most of her stories were about Wallsend and places like that. 15 Street comes to mind.

I may have questioned whether hed remember which dressing room to use and then called him a dick. Possibly, maybe. Here ye are, this mug....

See Lee Ryder's been writing about me in the Chronicle today. "Simpson suffered taunts off fans on twitter questioning his loyalty". Where the fuck did I question his loyalty Lee???? Doilum. Not fit for the Herald & Post imo.

I was just joking anyway but I probably misunderstood you in any case reading back. I took it to mean the next beach up from the main one at Bamburgh which is, if anything even nicer. There's a rocky headland that separates it from the main beach there so I think you'd technically class it as a different beach. You'd probably need a RobW ruling on that though. I love how seriously you take this sort of thing btw. You know how I love my North/South Tyne debates. Basically the coastline from The Tyne to the Tees is a waste of time and a blot of the landscape. The end of Get Carter summed it up for me.
-
The commentary however was not about the beach, twas about the seafront. The whole package. There is nothing up and down the coast to compare with Shields seafront package of fairs, parks, piers, beaches, restaurants, pubs, greenery. And this myth that the air somehow is cleaner 30 miles up the same stretch of coast. As you can see in my signature there's not a beach of more natural beauty in England than Bamburgh, and it's nicer round the corner than what you can see there. Personally I like being in places of natural beauty rather, than grotty seaside towns like Blackpool, South Shields and Scarborough, over ran with charva's and the like. Bamburgh has restaurants, and it has a few lush pubs as well. It's like comparing SuBo to Elle MacPherson at her peak on so many levels. That's a very sweeping statement Stevie! Especially when he contradicts it immediately afterwards. I don't see how, "round the corner" is still Bamburgh too.

Blyth Lighthouse pish by the way. That Ocean Road reminds me of Armstrong Road in Scotchee.
-
It's without doubt, one of the top ten iconic images anywhere on this island. Fuckin South Shields, full of bamps, poormans Whitley Bay and that's saying something.
-
It's got more ice creams vans, candy floss stalls and people painting kids faces man.
-
I think growing up with all of that has made me semi-immune from a probable natural tendency to see it as tacky. I know CT was arguing very pro-tacky area but I'd say walking south from Ghandis temple all the way along the cliff tops to Marsden is still fantastic and certainly doesn't lack for natural beauty. It's nee Bamburgh. Personally I prefer the views on the North Side of the Tyne.
-
I know south of the Sage we're all scum, but that's below the belt. You're actually North of the Sage. South Shields is further North than Newcastle City Centre, you don't think of it like that but it is.
-
Reminds me of someone?????? It will come. Rimmer, Gordon Brittas, etc From the nose down he's got a jasper carrot thing going on and there's definitely bits of John Major in there but theres someone else that is virtually identical...think think think! Funny and intelligent? Or Brummie and grey.

Needs 3 more games.
-
I thought he was shite personally, and maybe we were spoilt but we could have done better imo. Scored a mint goal against Tottenham on a Bank Holiday I remember though. His managerial record is astonishing to be fair to him however. 124 games as manager 9 defeats, and none in 10 with a pishy country like Georgia.
-
Can't afford fuel for the helicopter these days, obviously... I guarantee he won't get on. 100%. IF he does I don't want to see one person in the ground sitting down. A mass "boo" "fuckin cunt" "hiss" "grrr" are what a required.
-
When we beat them 5-0 did they not lose 7-3 at Southampton the next week?? I think we'll get a result. They're NOT that good.

If I died today, one thing I would always remember about you is what a thoroughly and consistently positive fucka you are.
