I was similar, started when I was prob mid 30s. Really fucked off by it when I hit 40 (plus I have been getting annual BUPA healthchecks for around 5yrs and watched my weight and other stuff going the wrong way). Body image has to have something to do with it as well. course Im happier knowing my wife is MUCH happier with how I look now than I did last year. Feel better about myself as well. I simply cant fault it. you do have to be careful though, there is so much bullshit on supplements. Train well and eat well is THE most important thing to get right.

Its not about BCAA making you live longer, its about the whole picture really. In a sense I agree, I may have lost my weight through the much improved eating along with the more focussed training. But the trainer who put the lot together for me suggested using it and then I researched it and everything suggested to do it, so I did. I could easily drop it but I wont. As for multi-vits, apparently 35% of people use them. For protein, Id agree if you eat a normal diet then you should not need any supplemented. But then you need to consider that a normal diet should be a decent fist sized amount of clean meat per meal. If I eat then then alls good, but if I dont then thats when I use protein. As for creatine, its not just about adding water to muscles. you need to up your water intake if you use creatine (Id imagine if you popped pills every day that would fuck your kidneys as well). Creating increases ATP. Only really beneficial (as I understand) for short burst weight training (ie lower rep ranges). Creatine is a natural product (from the body) and again you can eat food to drop the need but its also about timing and you are unlikely to eat a steak right before the gym.

Thing is, I'd been training for 18 month on and off but wasn't satisfied with the results. So I started reading. Just going to the gym so I could tick a box I'm my life was bullocks if I was still drinking huge full fat latte and stuffing my face with Danish pastry. I had the fell tale spare tyre, the worst kind of fat on a bloke for heart disease and diabetes. I got an interest not just to shed fat / lose weight. I don't mind admitting I'm terrified of dying before my kids are set up for life (own house, job, hopefully own family). Then I can feel I've done what I'm here for. I'm 40 now and have seen blokes my age, your age, dead. As well as the health benefits it's the psychological side as well. I'm the fittest and lightest I've been in over a decade. So for me supplements is about pushing as hard as I can and doing what I think is best. Afterall, how many take a multi-vit? That's just a supplement isn't it? Then fish oils? All I do is add BCAA to that and whey protein (on days to top up I've I've not ate enough).

Yeah BCAA are meant to help the breakdown of fat when your are running on depleted glycogen stores. So for me for example, as I don't eat after 8pm and i train at 6.30am.
-
BCAA are Branch Chain Amino Acids. I as a drink I'm powder form but you can get tablets. They are said to help during and post training. Won't bore you with the details. Supersets are doing two sets of different routines back to back with no rest. Can be for the same body part or different. For example i sometimes do bench press and bench DB fly back to back then rest 30-40 seconds then do my next set.

Assume you mean BCAA? I wake at 5.30. Leave for gym at 6.00am. 6.10am I drink 1/3 of the BCAA, on gym for 6.30-7.30. Back in car for 7.45am then drink 1/3 of the BCAA. Arrive at work 8.30am and finish BCAA before I go in. I dont eat until 12noon to the BCAA is in place of the "PWO" shake. I dont know how much I can attribute to it, but I made excellent progress last year.

If I'm running I put the incline on 3. I also like to so hill walking sessions where I walk with it on 10-12.

Still a good bf% that like. I'm doing same as last year. 16/8 intermittent fasting. Worked a treat for me last year. Nutrition is just common sense mosty. Like you low carbs on non training days and carbs are clean. Dark green or plain rice on gym days. Odd bit of fruit (blueberries and pineapple are best though I eat small oranges a well). I've cut out all bread and pasta etc. also cut out milk so I drink black coffee now and green tea in evenings. I'm eating 1700-2000cals per day. Training I do a 3 day split and each day is supersets. Like today was 8 routines split into 4 superset pairs that took 45mins. 2 days I do 45 min cardio. I enjoy it, in fact it's a bit addictive. Also take some supplements but nothing OTT I think. - BCAA either side of training - whey protein only if at the end of the day I feel my food has been low (with almond milk) - 1 a day tablet each of Krill Oil, glucosamine and a multi-vit.

Seen that, I then made the mistake of looking at the # Fuck-ing-Hell.

December 2012 competition - Festive / Celebration (Discussion / chat)

I was waiting for some damn snow -
aye this is the bit about Remy

You miss the point (yeah, Im shocked at that...). Of course we need a replacement and quick. But I'm not going to cry about it not being Remy when I have no idea of his quality. If we get him, great he could be excellent for us. But he could be a dud for all I know.
-
You're just missing the pics of LBT aren't you?
-
I know nothing about him to be bothered if we don't get him. A lot of hype but also a lot about him being a confidence player who has had a few injuries. We need someone that is for sure like.
-
I'm sensing a lot of anger from all of your posts. Not getting much these days?
-
Course it's not, just as its not to take this piss out of said dotty opinions

I appreciate we are running a tighter ship with funds. Fair enough. But so long as they insist we have a strong first team but no depth we are gambling with injuries. If we have a luckyish season with injuries and are in good form (those strong players) then we could do well like last season. But if we are hit by injuries or form to key players then we'd be mid table. If we are hiy by both we're fucked, like this season so far. We need either form to change or injuries to stop to stay up (assuming depth wont change).

It is, got the boxed set.
