  1. Horrendous evening yesterday. Had a flight home at 6.30 last night, about an hour before hand I started feeling overly tired and a bit fucked. Didn't think too much of it as I'd been in a 2 day meeting, presenting etc. 10 minutes before boarding I get the shivers and turn freezing cold. Get on the plane early and try to settle in, 15 mins later with the aisle of the plane packed with people, I've got to make a bolt for the bog. Clamber past all these people apologising, whilst burping sick into my gob, get to the bog and hurl the most horrendous technicolor yawn I've ever seen. I had loads of raw fish, mussels etc for lunch. It was minging. So I pop back to the seat thinking , that should be it. No sooner had I sat down I was up again. At this point the flight is getting ready to leave. I'm back in the bog hoying out one end, then draining the rest out the other. I'm literally dripping like a fucked fridge, manage to clean up (I'm in my best suit too) and sit down. Take off, seat belts light off, back in the bog for another 20 minutes. Finally cleaned out my insides then had to wait another two hours to get home, moaning and groaning and disgusting everyone around me. Feel fine now but that was a journey from hell.
  2. Difficult second album syndrome tbh. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophomore_slump
  3. Alreet pet, fancy a shag?
  4. Fell apart after that Bobby Moore comparison.
  5. Krugman and Stiglitz would defer to me on this as i could explain to them which medical services are over-utilised using marginal micro-economic analysis. Political points like 'let the government negotiate price to save a trillion dollars' dont hold up to scrutiny and are riddled with simplistic macro assumptions. I'd give them the low-down on medicare fee for service schedules for things hospital imaging services which have no discernible impact on public health, the private income streams that they generate for physicians and hospitals, the average and marginal gains in health outcomes for the patients. I'd help think through the targets for increased efficiency of the deployment of medicareresources, how you would measure the micro-efficiency of those marginal programme changes and we'd all conclude that a fuck load of spending in medicare does nothing but make US oncologists richer than UK bankers, that medicare reform is essential and overall cuts make total sense if those cuts do nothing but just reduce private incomes and do not affect patient outcomes. We in Europe talk this language every day, US economists dont have a clue about this sort of thing. The US has to reign in healthcare spending, if they carried on as they are by 2020 1 in 3 of every US dollars spent would be on healthcare. Its insane and medicare reform is essential. Social security on the other hand is not something i would condone him cutting and i would agree that its disappointing for people who want more social benefits for those who lose their jobs etc. The reality is that once a right wing party who believes in small government gets into power in the current climate, they can use concerns over public debt levels to implement massive austerity programmes. To control debt, you need to keep spending in check whilst ensuring that growth is maintained. Obama's fiscal stimulus is one of the reasons why the US economy bounced in 09/10. The idea that the GOP would not set about dismantling the piss poor social structures that exist in the US is naive iyam. It would be a lot worse under Romney.
  6. I cant stand his holier than thou leftist nonsense.
  7. Stop posting about medicare benefits, neither you nor Greenwald have a clue about what you are even discussing.
  8. What a load of shit. To your reply to Renton: You think the drawdown in Iraq is actually a point? You actually think that the Bush date was real and based on practical policy, not just done as he was swigging down the last of the white house whisky and stealing a few light fittings? That actually stands as analysis? The Bush date was realistic, should have been stuck to and because Obama didnt he is worse than Romney would be? Are you off your head or something? Fought tooth and nail? Thats nonsense. As for the differences, the fact that Obama will raise taxes at deal with the fiscal difficulties facing their economy makes him a soclalist, the fact that Romney wont makes him to the right of Obama. You dont know anything about medicare cuts so dont pretend you do, have a read up on it. http://swampland.time.com/2012/08/16/fact-check-obamacares-medicare-cuts/
  9. I could educate you on various parts of your misunderstandings wolfy but you don't really have the cognitive capacity to process large pieces of data. Hence the propensity to pattern recognition, in mildly and admittedly sometimes quite complicated narratives. As HF pointed out to you, it's a shame you don't focus more specifically on key issues rather than trying to tie disparate pieces into a single picture. There is scandal and fraud that needs addressing in many industries, so choose one and get into it. You'll find it's far from as simple as you thought it was though. One thing I will say is that me and one million other people marched in London to protest against the Iraq war so your point there just shows you don't even know the modern history of your own country. You wonder why people don't take you seriously?
  10. Which points? That Romney would be a better liberal?
  11. HF doesn't need no cotton pickin president nor no women to show him nuffin.
  12. The fanny in Berlin was mint. It's not often you can use the phrase 'wall to wall blart' and not be mortal in a nightclub. Office type blart with tits, mini skirts and low cut tops. Wank bank is fully loaded.

  14. Whisky doesn't age in the bottle. Wine on the other hand should be aged in the bottle. Wines are often barrel aged for months, up to a year in France. Spain barrel ages wines for longer. It's a quicker way to soften the tannins and give the wine a better structure. However once it's in the bottle, most wines will get better. Quite why some age better than others is a bit of a mystery. Whisky should be drunk within 6 months of opening the bottle if you want to only drink it at its best, it will keep for longer. The Glendronach 15 Alex has is very nice, sherried, sweat and a lovely dark rich colour. We had a wee dram of it when i saw him over the weekend. I've got the 12 at the minute which I have to say is an excellent alternative if you can't splash out on the 15.
  15. I can't believe an unrealistically expectant socialist/democrat wanted a Mormon fundamentalist republican to win because Obama didn't fancy opening the doors of Guantanamo and telling all the terrorists to just shuffle off home. Takes all sorts like.
  16. You just know that Suarez was asking Colo if his hair was like his mother's growler in horrible south American Spanish slang.
  17. Going back to San Fran in Jan, planning a trip to the new Hakkasan.
  18. So left wing he has come all the way round to meet the Mormon wing of the Republican Party.
  19. I've been here for a few days, seems alright to me. Am in Berlin tomorrow (after a stop in France to drop my daughter off), first time in Germany since May but i rarely notice the differences these days. HF, what do you want from this election then?
  20. So has the NASDAQ, trace the stock and the index since early 08 when both started their rise.
  21. I was going to make a snarky remark about adult males watching Strictly then realised I sat through the whole of Downton Abbey with me mother last night.
  22. US tech is basically super adept at tax avoidance. I detest it too, hopefully something will get done about it. AAPL over 3 months mirrors the composite NASDAQ 100 index exactly, my point was that its more sector than company. The 3m graph for both clarifies it.
