  1. It's arguably as good as Remain in Light. Still think Stop Making Sense is the perfect listening experience, if I had to choose just one album to listen to for the rest of my life it would be that rather than any of the studio albums. I've been listening to it for 27 years too.
  2. Specify the experimental design then. I of course agree with the theory but the data we have doesn't lend itself to our standard scientific models. I dont think you have 'observed natural selection in cancer cells' but I understand that theories of resistance to chemo are based on cellular adaptation to environmental forces (either cytostatic or cytotoxic). Resistance however is not necessarily an adaptive strategy, my understanding is that due to the complexity of proliferation mechanisms and the usually narrow nature of targeted therapy is that as one mechanism is inhibited, another can emerge. I'm not a micro-cellular biologist though and I'd have to ask about how stem cells fit into the natural selection model too.
  3. It's a non-testable hypothesis.
  4. I completely agree but if he can keep up his rate of assists and goals he'll have accumulated a canny few by the end of the season. When he came he talked of emulating both Ginola and Robert and he is well on his way.
  5. Got asked sarcastically how he was doing today by the Evian fan who obviously doesn't watch us much, just loved explaining how amazing he has been. If he keeps playing like this for the season, he will soon be competing with Robert's status. He has certainly produced as many moments of magic as Ginola (more goals too I think?) in less games.
  6. I once was round a mates on a sunday afternoon, it was a big shared house in West Hampstead and I was feeling worse for wear. For some reason I thought having a bath was a good idea. We'd been out all night Friday and Saturday then had hit the pub at midday for a heavy session, no sleep and full of gear. Back at my mates, I decided to run myself a bath in the downstairs bathroom, probably becaue i ws feeling minging. Anyway, i didnt say what i was doing and unsurprisingly i passed out. About a hour later, mates came looking for us, all very hysterical as I had some lass's loofer on me cock but in all seriousness could have died. Baths: dangerous when spannered.
  7. Even on this Neutron star of a forum, I find I do miss quite a bit of 'banter'. Renton and Fish must have felt a bit stupid.
  8. I recognize this artistic style.
  9. We have photographic evidence to back this up too.
  10. A solicitor? I wouldn't set my sights so low. Not being funny but my jobs a lot better than that. I didn't need to be at the match or even watch it on telly to make the comment I made, if the second goal goes in, no one talks about the performance. That's guaranteed and you know it which is why you have resorted to 'i was there so I know best'. I'm not commenting on any specific issues with the team, the pen goes in, we look better and the result is more than adequate. If you complain we win 2-0 you look like a dick. At 1-0 you don't but the margin is fine enough to be philosophical about it. That's all I was saying. Do us a favour though, post the link up to where you predicted we'd have a great season last year from August/Sep time, I couldn't find it when I looked. I just want to make sure you were definitely saying the opposite about our prospects last year before giving too much weight to your predictions of mediocrity this year.
  11. How would you know Stevie? I've done both hundreds of times and think that's nonsense. You've never been on a foreign stream in your life so what would you know? Fucking ITTs think they know what it's like ACTUALLY watching a proper stream.
  12. I thought Tiote's madness and Ben Arfa's brilliance would have been worth the entrance fee alone yesterday. Also, if that pen goes in, the second half pans out exactly the same way, the performance is not mentioned. 100%.
  13. People going massively over board as usual. Its like an adolescent party with too much shandy on here sometimes. Some excellent posts from Parky there, not sure I agree about the centre backs never getting in the opposition box (see the pen yesterday) but a goo analysis of where we are at. Like last season, we will see expansive football once the defensive solidity is embedded once again.
  14. I'd like to see Ba and Shola as a front 2 but I don't think we should drop Cissé just yet. If he keeps playing like he is then we will have to at some point.
  15. Will the Norwich player who clattered Obertan get retrospectively punished? And if not, why not?
  16. Same type of performance as against Bolton and Blackburn at home last season. So what?
  17. Great goal, lovely chest down to set the shot up too. Game on.
  18. Sorry I just assumed you needed a VPN, that DNS trick is meant to work for the iplayer too but I never got it to work. Amazon just launched their cloud service in the uk for the same price as match but you can store 250k songs. I've got 10k so I don't think that matters. The nice thing about these paying cloud services is that they actually pay royalties to the artists providing another important income stream. I didnt sign up for match straight away as I thought if was a bit expensive and I didn't know if I'd actually need it. The integration with my tv and iPad is great though. How do you put your music on to the pad? Do you have the app on that too? Does your tv support it too? I had friends over last night, it was nice to browse on the tv which is also connected to my big amp and speaker. I'd be surprised if google continue to provide a free service in the future given how much grief they are getting on loss of revenues with the move to mobile and their 2 biggest rivals charging the same reasonably large fee. As an aside, how immature do you and Renton come over in this thread?
  19. I don't think there has been an analogous situation historically. It's not a question of preference, just which one is likely to succeed in the long term. Tech companies can rise and fall quickly (remember who was at the top of the dot com bubble?) so being positioned to survive as the market adapts is everything. Google's issue is the loss of a search advertising business model as we move towards app based online activity. Apple anticipated and cracked it with a massice app store, like they did with the fall of the iPod (iPhone) and potentially the laptop (iPad). That's good business imo.
  20. Everton have been superb again today, missed loads of chances and still scored 3. Fellaini used his hand for the opener but they have played really well today, impressive stuff.
  21. Why can't we have threads about all 3 subjects? Surely 'general' means everything?
