Isn't the idea of VC that one day growing businesses will actually make money? Or liquidising the assets, aye. Anyway yes, its a gamble on promotion and the long term success of english football, meaning the capital investment at least holds its value.

£80m all in, maybe (possibly) just. But an effective £125m-£255m, . (although as mentioned in the other thread there may well be idiots prepared to pay that) If the club does get promoted in one season, they will make a tidy profit the followig year, merchandise up, tv revenue up, season tickets up, foreign (far eastern) revenue streams up, cost base low. I know it may seem unfathomable why anyone would want to buy the shit-tip at this price but its not beyond the realms of possibility.

Am not sure 80m is an over-valuation ferp. Parky has quoted me a few times (confusing me with his 'friend' who works for Coutts) on the VC rule of thumb for business evaluation, which is 3 times revenue. As revenue streams over the normal business planning period of 3-5 years need to be weighted by the probability of being in the prem / championship, the 80m figure isnt that bad a guess imo. Even if we consider that TV revenue is about a third of our income and adjusting for debt and reduced revenue from season tickets and merchandise etc, then i can see how this is considered a fair price. I'm also sure that these deals are governed by regulations regarding price abitration, ensuring that the seller receives a price that reflects the underlying value of the business.

Did anyone see what looked like Don King sitting behind the podium for the whole ceremony?

So does that apply the other way round? (if the woman is the eldest) Only if you're loaded, obviously. Same as with men then. True, but men are more often loaded, and in general seem to like their partners younger I think - often way too young. The worst place I've seen for it is the Cote d'Azure, so many old men walking around with staggeringly pretty girls who could be their daughters, but aren't. Don't see it so much the other way round for whatever reason. Anyway, 26, interesting. They have a name. Whores. -
Again that was a combination of MS's monopolistic pressure on manufacturers directly () and the "this isn't windows" effect, even though netbooks arguably function much better for what they are meant for with a modern Linux based OS than an 8 year old XP (still don't think they'll get Win7 to work well on "netbooks"). Looks fast from what I've read this morning. Basically MS is -ing itself over Google because they are beating them to the punch over online applications and (seemingly) OS's too. We could be seeing the last days of MS as it has been (they'll be harder to shift out of the business world though), although it isn't a massively good thing if Google just swaps places with it, even if their business model remains different (competition is what is needed for innovation). Been predicting that for a few years now. Google in 10 years will be the evil giant as the original business spirit is sapped out of it by Wall st. Possibly. All started in a garage. So did my sex life.

Came across this film a while back whilst researching Parky's 2012 theories. Watched the full HD trailer on plex the other day, looks good.

Here's a novel idea. It's my right to keep information about who I am to myself. Radical eh?? Thatcherite. Communist Well, there's a first. I was of course referring to the social contract between Parky and the state which guarantees his daughter an education and him facial surgery after his wife catches him feeding the pony of that 19 year old. dont see why Parky should need an id card to get his kid into school. and i dont believe he's gonna need the hospital either cos theres no way he's going to smash that lass's pastie!!! But if he doesnt let the state know he has a daughter, how will they know she needs an education? The point being that there is a social contract between the state and the individual that requires a sharing of information and service. I take your point about that lass's pastie.
