  1. and yet you cling to you "crap wum" moniker as if it were the only facet to your personality? Trust me that is opinion held by most, if not all, non NUFC. Just because you don't like it doesnt make it a wind up. No, its what your ill-informed media-lapping know-nowt mates think. Big difference. The media deals in simple stories as half its readership are below average intelligence and you dont want to alienate half the readership with complicated things like reality. You're a case in point. He walked out on you first time round, He walked out on Fulham, He walked out on England during qualifying, He retired at City......or did he. Those are the facts I dont need the media to tell me that when the going gets tough....KK gets gone. When you have to re-quote someone from less than 2 posts before you know you're dealing with a proper spacka. You said he bottled the jobs not that he walked out on the jobs. I've worked for 3 companies since i started my career, did i bottle the first 2 because i left them? All you've pointed out is the man left 4 jobs in a career now in its 5th role. Fuck me, you're as thick as Torres.
  2. Everton arent big spenders and do alright.

When it comes to hardcore, nothing beats The Geordie Gabba Mafia. http://www.geordiegabbamafia.org/main.php Top tunes that DJ Smurf lad - "Who'd want to be Ian Pooley when you can be e'n of your head!?! " as he once might have said.
  5. There's two sides to that: Drug company profits - they have to produce new drugs or they'll lose profits on generic drugs. Tax - telling someone that's worked and paid NI all their life that they can't have a drug, equally whilst giving someone that hasn't at all something for free. Basically the Government needs to be much tougher with the drug companies and the patients, instead of just allowing accountants to decide what is "effective". The government is so tough on 'innovation' that they set a limit on how much they are willing to spend for improvements in quality and/or length of life. This government and in particular NICE have decreed that adding one year of decent quality of life onto a person's life expectancy is worth £30,000. If the cost is more than that they refuse it. Its not just drugs either, its loads of new surgical equipment and techniques that are a product of technological innovation. Anyway, since the 1960's the PPRS set a 17% limit on drug company profits from the UK market. This has been reformed this year and many are waiting to see what will happen. If you want a balanced view on things, GSK, my old company, used to earn £800m in revenue in the UK. The 17% profit was modulated by accountants but essentially came out at no more than 25% in each year. GSK employs 45,000 people in the UK and spends over £3bn in its global R&D, much of which is spent in the UK. Seem like a fair deal? In 2007, 800 high-tech jobs at GSK went in the UK due to increasingly difficult market conditions. The last bastion of the UK manufacturing sector and will ill-informed, mis-judged idealism finally take it down? Unlike the thickos controlling economic policy in this country for the last 30 years, the picture needs clear, sober and objective analyses. Anyway, accountants dont decide whats effective. NICE is run by clinicians and each piece of guidance it produces is done in conjunction with the Royal Colleges and the main Patient groups. Tax - quite right, its all about choices though. The limited NHS budget creates a choice between competing priorities. If the NHS tried to meet every 'medical need' (and a debate on that term was the subject of my PHD) it would go bust (just as Rob said). So, it is forced to make choices. My point today, in the current climate is that the choice has to be given back to the patient. They should decide if they want additional insurance and access to 'best in class' treatments, or settle for less and more disposable income in the short-term. We should have a safety net system, where access to general medical services is guaranteed and that the poor and the needy should be means tested (sorry buts its a necessary evil). Private and public insurance should be available through your employer, taxes should be reduced and the short fall made up by contributions to schemes. The NHS will live on but the govt are throwing more and more money at it. Ever stopped to think we might be better off if we organised it differently. Cheers for all who contributed so far to this thread, i used it as 'market research' at work the other week
  6. Stevie loves forum politics, would have made a decent shop steward in another life.
  7. On the subject of disappearing posters, do you want burying or burning?
  8. ohmelads - guaranteed a decent post, not seen since the turn of the year.
  9. I'd love to open one of these threads one day to read 'Dave from acccounts has been banging Kate from marketing behind his wife's back".
  10. Torres, the point still stands, KK has come closer than Benny ever will. When's the wristband coming out for your foot?
  11. Quite possibly the daftest rubbish I've read in ages. Congrats! Do you care to actually try to counter anything I posted? I've noticed that to be one of your critical failings. You disagree with any criticism but you can never say why. Simple. Because it`s rubbish. Why would anybody counter such trash. The bit about Keegan is true. So did Ranieri ... but like KK ... it has no relevance to how things stand now. Neither of them are fit to lace Rafa's boots. So if KKs achievement aren't relevant, then presumably none of your historic league form is relevant, so why expect to do well in it this year? When you shoot your own foot, do you go into mourning for it?

  13. I love the lad going on about all the internal politics at the club being a problem for years, trying to sound all clever and in the know. I'm guessing no-one who was in a position of power 14 months ago is still with the club but somehow their political influence is still being brought to bear. Fuck me, even the clever ones are thick as fuck.
  14. Its too early to tell ffs.
  15. The problem is these days a striker who can control a ball at pace is min £10m. If one becomes available then i think we have the resources to be in for them. Am still confident that we will spend more than last summer.
  16. I know everyone is looking at Centre back and midfield but i think we'll struggle again up front. Viduka has only got half a season in him at best and Caroll is not quite up to it yet. Be nice to have another big striker but with some semblance of pace.
  17. Not this year mate. Although I am considering a rather jovial analysis of us finishing ahead of Spurs. Modric wasnt that exciting and is going to get clattered physically for a start..
  18. Parky should start a 'why we could finish ahead of Liverpool' thread
  19. Are they genuinely that good? Bose stuff is usually pretty good, but often not all it's made up to be (Bose car systems and Ipod docks for instance are good, but not astounding). Never been that impressed by any iPod docks, the Bose one i had a few years ago was alright, did a job. These things come into their own when you're traveling, the sound is lush, the clarity across the sound spectrum is exceptional. They aren't pro ones though.
  20. I got some Bose QC3s, not sure there is a better headphone available.
  21. Ohmelads, Baggio, Alex and a few others hardly or dont post in the football section anymore, its most perturbing feature at the moment is a 14 year old spurs fan and a mackem whose name is 'shiteam' backwards telling everyone how shit we are. On the up side HTT has deleted his account, so every cloud and all that.
  22. Good game. Good game. Is there anything that is, e.g. say, 400 times heavier and 500 times more expensive then?
  23. Is that photo on your mam's mantlepiece Wacky?
  24. Are you talking about the kids killed or the kids doing the stabbing? I didn't think much detail of the accused was released until after a trial....especially if they're under 18. And if you meant the other way, I don't see how a victims hobbies could be blamed for their death. EDIT: That's not to say the accused didn't have a solid traditional family life, but I'd suggest if they did, they got in with a bad crowd who (on the whole) didn't. Having conversed with me online for about 3 years now, i thought you might have worked out i'm not an utter spacker. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7436141.stm They reduced the age from 18 to 16 in response to the experience of dealing with these crimes. Someone has to present a case and a reason to change these things. You've got the ages of the boys / men charged in this link http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7395875.stm Plenty of examples of MURDERS on 14 year olds by 16 year olds. Nevermind the rest ....
