  1. Saw them in 80something or other, then saw them in 2005....am tempted to hear their new stuff, but not that tempted...might give ebay a spoodle nearer the time..
  2. 3 things: 1. What do you expect a DoF to "acheive" that is tangible to your average Mag? 2. you're a fine one to talk about getting off someones back with your attitude to Pardew 3. For someone without any issues about Mike Ashley, you dont appear to be too keen on any of his appointments....
  3. So he buys himself out of his contract one day, then signs a new contract with the same club a day later?....whos his accountant, Ken Dodd?...
  4. Glasto used to be about "the experience" but now its more to do with £8 for a fuckin chicken burger...that was 3 years ago now mind, probably more these days....best thing I ever saw there was a couple fucking half way up a tree, followed 5 minutes later by men dressed all in red with those sticks like them the council collect litter with going round pretending to fertilize wild flowers...then we went and scored some gear from one of the many Bristol sound systems that used to let in and sat there for the rest of the day, off our fuckin nuts listening to dub reggae. None of that sort of thing happens now, but theres also no robberies or atmosphere of barely surpressed violence hanging over the whole thing either. They dont let travellers in either, not since they turned all the stalls in the market over on the Sunday night in 93, fuckin hyporcritical bastards, but they did go round a lot of tents the day before collecting dirty underwear from people, then went down the front of the Pyramid Stage and threw it all at Tom Jones
  5. Its club policy to get players in cheap and sell them on for huge profits. Just bacause it hasnt happened as yet it doesnt mean its not true and our tactics last year have nothing to fuckin do with it. Things might have been different if Cabaye had been able to deliver a half decent corner, so he's not as good as people are making out neither so if someone offers 25mill we should take their hands off.

  7. Chuck must have a big tax demand from the IRS Its sounds a bit like the Drifters or the 4 Tops, still touring and doing the same songs but with little or no resemblance to the original line up...
  8. The PE picture was taken by a Newcastle fan who is related to what may be loosely described as "several notorius Tyneside gangster families" Having said that,I was there 3 years ago and its a lot different to 15-20 years ago. But there again, back then it was a lot different to 15-20 years before that....
  9. err....Flava's "on a break" from PE I think...heres Chuck on his jack last night...
  10. The sanitisation of Glastonbury complete with Chris Evans presenting for the bbc. Think when it was "de rigeur" to drive to Somerset, abandon your vehicle in a country lane, jump over the fence and commune with 100k or so drug casualties, that cunt was making tea for Timmy fuckin Mallet. I rest my case m'lud
  11. he was ok, he just didnt have the pace required for the prem, wanted too long on the ball too....and he got monstered in Marseille in the uefa cup semi a few years back...didnt hang around long after iirc..
  12. old skool jungle dj as far as I can remember...
  13. its not wide forward as such, because the whole thing should be/is based on good flexible movement. The way Pardew is trying to play the system is quite defensive i.e. catching the opposistion on the break. For me, he's perfect for that but we dont have the players to support his initial breaks. Thats where it breaks down. A fit Ben Arfa would help, as would someone with Jonas's stamina but more offensively minded. Pardew's got to fit the players hes got into a decent system, hes struggling because hes not great and the players are a hotch potch of decent performers who its not certain can play effectively together, certainly given Pardew's limitations. Given all that, I think he plays Sissoko in the correct posistion, he's just not had the right support.
  14. Not that new any more, over 2 years...we had a chat this morning and shes now happy to go along with it but the dates dont tally so its more than likely "Casa Tito" for the duration
  15. If you're on about Lampard and Gerrard then I'd suggest traditional English football, quite often played with "box to box" midfielders, is becoming pretty irrelelvent at the top level of European football as it has been at international level for decades. We, and the world it seems, love watching them but the game has moved on iyam. 4231 has only become common in the last couple of seasons in this country, but its been common on the continent for over a decade and if you've got two lads sitting in you dont need a Gerrard running around getting knackered trying to be all things to all men.
  16. I ignored it because I had stated why I think it didnt quite work for him in that posistion last season, which you had ignored by jumping straight in with your question What does your question this morning mean?... I was asking where this theory comes from that he should play further back on the pitch comes from. Your question isnt the same, its a little difficult to understand, well for me anyway...
  17. Wiki described him as a box to box defensive midfielder Hes not though, he'll end up trying to do too much on the pitch like Gerrard and Lampard if he's told to do play like that. Guus Hiddink said Lampard was always trying to do too much, and he also praised our performances against his Anzhi side last season. If we're playing 4231 hes not one of the 2, hes one of the 3 iyam. While we've got the current players and Pardew as manager thats how we'll go. Would you suggest that him and Cabaye swap around then? Not for me.
  18. So let me get this right, he's better in a position you've never seen him in?... He mostly played on the right channel of a 3 man forward line last season, or in behind Cisse, depending on who else was available I haven't suggested that he did or should play on the wing. The width in a 433 or 4231 is, I've always thought, supposed to be supplied by an overlapping fullback. Viera and his ilk had defensive responsibilities that we don't know Sissoko possesses because hes not played there for us. Am not suggesting he couldn't do it very well, but why not try to make the most of his natural gifts? All he needs is support....
  19. Well he doesnt look or play like them no. But its essentially the same job hes there to do if last season is anything to go by, get past his marker and get the ball into the central strker/a supporting runner.
  20. Its not form, its other players who are used to playing on the counter he needs. But we dont buy players to suit a system, we buy good players who are cheap, and only because theyre cheap. Then we expect someone as limited as Pardew to get the best out of them. Youve described 3 or 4 different types of player there which doesnt really help. For me he hasnt got a defensive bone in his body so comparing him with players willing to put a defensive shift in is pointless tbh. He doesnt have that side to his game iyam. Hes not a Viera or a Diaby. He's what we called and inside forward when I were a lad and now we call them attacking midfielders. I think Pardew got him right last season. Shame he ddint have the runners to break with him.
  21. Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter are married but dont live together and have seperate holidays. I know how old Tim feels. We both want to go to Croatia, one of us wants to spend a couple of days on 3 or 4 islands and spend some time in Mostar in Bosnia. The other wants to spend 10 nights on a package deal in a hotel built by fuckin communists in the 60s. Nowt booked, but we both finish work a week tomorrow and its really fuckin pissing me off.
  22. What does he bring to the middle then?...please, I've asked this question 3 times and no ones given me a fuckin answer. Would he be a Davey Mac, a Gazza, a Brian Robson, a Frank Lampard, a Steven Gerrard, a Michael Carrick, a Glenn Hoddle, a Peter Reid or someone other fucker? Someone for fucks sakes tell me as I cant see the point of playing someone with his pace and power further back up the pitch. For me thats fuckin pointless. Answer please with evidence. If not, this "Sissoko is much better as a centre midfileder" is just bollocks, something fashionable to say on a football forum which nobody has even thought about or can actually back up. I posted a youtube clip of his time in France but it doesnt really help to show whether he'd be great or hopeless. Where does this come from??????????????????
  23. Kurt Zouma is the best name for a footballer ever 19 year old centre half, obviously rated by Carr, which is a good enough recommendation for me. Chelsea want him too. Ho hum...
  24. Bent, nailed on, Pards wants "some English", signing at half eight on 31st August. Some French children to keep Carr happy. A part time window cleaner from Gala Fairydean will be Kinnerar's contribution.
