  1. Aye, they dont have manager, they have coach, who picks the players he's provided with by his bosses. A lot of clubs do this now. Including ourselves. So theres a school of thought that Ba is being used as bait in a move for Falcao?...oh dear Is there anythng concrete about PSG's interest?...
  2. HBA and Ronaldo arent given rigid and restrcitive roles for their clubs. They can play it as they see it most of the time. HBA has more defensive responsibilties at his club though so mainly stays wide. All this talk of a "no 10" is fairly irrelevent. If a team is sent out with one central striker playing in behind the other one you'll find that a lot of the width tends to come from fullback, and we know how good ours are at that. Say what you want about Santon, he's been fuckin awful lately, defensively poor and offensively fairly ineffective. Simpson is Simpson. Shite.
  3. To be fair, you havent. Youve got both Marveux and HBA in a sort of 3 "inside forward" line along with Demba Ba, the club's leading scorer and the second top scorer in England Then you have what appears to be a two man midfield...it would appear to be an approximation of.....well,as far as I can make out and funnily enough it looks to me like Terry Vanables's much-vaunted "Christmas Tree" formation which hasnt been played in the premier league by anyone....well anyone since TV himself employed it at Boro. For a couple of games. Southgate said the other players couldnt understand it , which is a bit ironic when you think about it....
  4. Thats the decision Prdew has been bottling all season...he's been trying to keep his top strikers happy, which meant for a long time 442. As a result results have suffered. He's been hampered all season with injuries which in a way made it easy for him to persist with picking two "purples" when only is required for the one role in the team, assuming that it goes without saying that the best formation is 433. Marveux in front of HBA? Again, CT on the wind up.
  5. Yes. Thank you for the Deano-esque diagram Feel free to pick the bones out of it if you wish....thats obviously if Ba leaves, if Ba stays, he starts every time.
  6. play Obertan and HBA either side of Cisse when attacking they then make a 5 in the centre of the park when the opposistion are attacking either side of Tiote,Perch and Cabaye Perch sits at the base, protects the back 4 We play better with Perch in midfield this season, we keep posseison a lot more. And theres then pace either side of Cisse. Guti and Marveux to change the game from the bench.
  7. Answer the question...why in gods name would you play Cisse up front instead of Ba this season? It makes no logical sense. This isnt football manager, these lads actually have to cross a white line and play. You set yourself up for this, which I guess is pretty much the point
  8. My favourite formation is the one Pardew picks. He knows more about football then me. Correct me if am wrong, but hes seldom if ever put Cisse and Ba on the pitch with Cisse playing centrally this season, certainly not as a starting formation. With everyone from March onwards last season playing at the top of their games it was easy to carry Ba out wide but he was barely contributing a fucking thing in some games. This season, with a lot of our top players either injured or a sad shadow form wise of what they were last spring, we cant afford to carry anybody. Its not worth the risk, and with a fully fit squad I'd drop one or the other to the bench. Now explain why you think you know better than Pardew.
  9. Squad: United are without Ryan Taylor, Dan Gosling, Haris Vuckic, Yohan Cabaye, Steven Taylor, Hatem Ben Arfa, Jonas Gutierrez, Vurnon Anita
  10. Ba plays tonight according to Luke Edwards: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/9774484/Newcastle-United-striker-Demba-Ba-poised-to-play-against-Everton-as-Chelsea-transfer-saga-drags-on.html
  11. When was Ba last played behind Cisse CT?...if he stays, thats not happening.
  12. Drank by fans of those soppy ties with 3 ducks on them, quite possibly during an appearance on the hit man and her Think Adamant's been a bit up down all his life...he sold out the O2 in Bournemouth last month...canny good by all accounts....
  13. All ticket everywhere else round these parts, I think the surcharge was to pay for the (dreadful) band they had on...the whole area round that boozer has been yuppiefied in the last decade or so; been polluted by new money types from nearby Sandbanks. Theres a big park in the centre of the area,it used to be full of dossers and drunks and you could could get a good lock in in two or three of the down at heel bars dotted around it; now its full of yummy mummies pushing tank sized buggies around and twats drinking champagne. Asahi is lovely as you say and used to be available in quite a few supermarkets in bottles very cheaply. There used to be another one called Sapporo where you got it in a can and had to somehow "unrap" it and pour it into a glass; there was a time in the late eighties when drinking out of cans (Schlitz, red stripe etc) in bars was the height of cool in some circles
  14. You dont leave them up till 12th night/Epiphany then?...my old dear thinks its bad luck to take them down before then....Mrs PL wanted to take them down boxing day! We were in a newish bar up the road last night...a pint of yer actual Japanese Asahi beer?....four pound fuckin ninety five pence, plus a 10% surcharge for NYE= the most expensive pint outside of a major city in the UK....I'd imagine anyway... I stuck to Timothy Taylors ale, looking like a refugee from the Rovers Return in amongst the bottles of Veuve Cliqot(?) and Prosecco....what a bunch of pretentious twats.
  15. More good news from .com: If our understanding of the UEFA regulations is correct, Debuchy would be eligible to appear for Newcastle in this season's Europa League, despite previously playing for Lille in the Champions League: 18.18 For all matches from the start of the round of 32, a club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the current competition. Such registration must be completed by 1 February 2013. 18.19 One player from the above quota of three who has been fielded in a UEFA club competition group stage match for another club in the current season may exceptionally be registered, provided that the player has not been fielded: a) in the same competition for another club; or for another club that is currently in the same competition. Lille won a two-legged Champions League playoff to advance through to the Champions League Group Stage. They then finished bottom of their group, meaning that they exited from the Champions League but failed to qualify for the Europa League. (Debuchy was red-carded against Valencia but has served the one match ban that he received).
  16. He'll maybe just be getting the Newhaven to Dieppe ferry after we play Brighton on the 5th, its nearby after all Its looking like the people who spoke to Chelsea on his behalf may not even know him. Or some people who have no real connection with him are touting him around generally...Sky Andrew has just been on 5live saying as much. And whingeing about it. Imagine that. An agent moanng about the tricks other agents pull. Oh the fucking ironing.
  17. 5live sports monkey said the same half hour ago......there hasnt been any club who has made an offical offer of £7.5mill to activate the release clause, and in so doing getting the right to speak to the player's agents. Same as the Ferguson thing on Boxing Day....no one in football is punishing either the likes of Chelsea or Ba's agents for this. But then I imagine NUFC would have to make an official complaint, and if you start to try to gain a bit of power back from players' agents in general then theyre very likely not to want to do business with you again. Thats how they keep the power. Cunts.
  18. If he's determined to go protecting that knee of his may be a bigger priority for him
  19. Bung him a 500k till the end of the season to stay, then let him go where the fuck his henchmen want him to go next summer. It would be well worth paying iyam.
  20. If we sell Ba and go down after failing to hit a barn door with a banjo goal wise between now and May will the clubs unwillingness to try to match his wage offers from other clubs look like a false economy?....give him a rise and ask him to stay till the end of the season us how id play it....getting rid of the clubs main goal scorer in January without much of a fight seems ludicrous to me.
  21. Sounds like the thought processes of Freddie Shepherd and Douglas Hall around August bank holiday weekend, 2004 Be careful what you wish for CT.....
  22. He's picking Marveux who's doing very well as you predicted CT....so he's got that wrong too, or your just on the wind up again?
