  1. To be fair, they were all for absolutely ridiculous fees. Have any of the figures mentioned so far been well above what you would consider Cabaye's value to us? It's also the world's richest club that we're doing business with. From a position of relative strength, too.
  2. Agree with this, entirely. Look at Everton, who held on to Baines despite knowing that they'd likely never get a higher fee for him. Selling him was just out of the question, no consideration given to the financial aspects of retaining him. He's now signed a new contract. Keeping Cabaye, and adding a striker, gives us our best possible chance of a top six finish. But, I doubt that has come into anyone's thinking, at the club. Judging by the tweets from the presser, he's as good as gone. Norwich should be his swansong. I'll be fucking gutted to see him go. On his day, possibly one of the very best midfielders in the world. Certainly one of the best to watch. Unfortunately, this is just what we are under our owner. Our model is to buy low, then sell at their peak. Retain Premier League status, and keep rebuilding to sell again. It's shit.
  3. I agree that it shouldn't happen. But, in all honesty, I think he courts it. He's seen what happens when he starts retweeting the abuse, giving these cretins a platform. Yet he keeps on doing it. Why not just take his own screenshots, then report those users? He'll be back on within the week.
  4. That looks like tinned crab meat, on top of a Snack-a-Jack, with a cherry tomato. I'm sure it isn't, of course.
  5. Why are we all suddenly meant to care about attention seeking, controversy courting, wife beating, general all round brummie bellend, Stan Collymore? Not directed at you in particular, like, moreso the self congratulating journalists who appear to have developed a sudden bout of selective amnesia.
  6. He has looked a bit lost in that position at times this season, like. Struggled to make any kind of impact. I was beginning to think he was much better suited to a deeper role. But, after his recent showings, I think he can be just as good in both positions. He's just an excellent, excellent player. He'll always be prone to those poor games like, where his head goes, and he just wants to get sent off. Happily, we haven't seen many this season.
  7. Massive win, that. Fantastic attacking play in the first half, and, as we've come to expect, some good defending in the second. Annoying to see us drop off 10 minutes after half time again, especially when West Ham looked worse when they brought Carroll on. Needed Hatem on a bit earlier to push us back up the pitch. As it was, thought Shola did what was asked of him, and thankfully refrained from fouling every three minutes. Very welcome three points anyway, and a timely boost of confidence going into two winnable games. Remy looked much more up for it today, after some jaded displays. Cabaye was so, so good, especially in the first half.

The Hunt is a fantastic film. Not sure if any other film has had me tearing my hair out like that. Superbly acted.
  9. Mark Douglas didn't mention anything about a swap deal, in his piece, like. He says they're just waiting on getting a replacement, with a loan fee, future fee and personal terms agreed. I hope he's the one that's got it right. I've no doubt we're looking to shift Cisse, but I'd prefer the competition for places - at least until the summer.
  10. Nah? Gejon said the same, like. That's class.
  11. Wise words. Really, though, I always just called it as I saw it. Didn't have too much concern for anyone's 'standing', or amusing others. I think that, in the end, they just got impatient waiting for me to do something worthy of being banned, and went for the back door route.
  12. Bit of both, really. Mostly the former, though.
  13. Hello. No, I'm not Alex. I've been a member, and occasional lurker, on this board for a few years. I mostly posted on N-O, though, until I was recently banned for not being popular enough to allow for taking the piss out of admin types.
  14. To be fair, the reporting is nothing to do with the club. We do seem to keep our business largely under the radar, so it's left to these kind of outlets to be as non-committal with their bullshit as possible.
  15. I like 'interested in the possibility of signing...'.
  16. Thanks. Got a bit carried away there.
  17. We will definitely bid €20m for him. Definitely.
  18. Pronounced the same way, too?
  19. I think he twists his knee before Mapou makes the second contact, judging by that gif. Wish he'd hit him harder, to be honest.
  20. Precisely. I'm sure that a lot worse can be heard from the dugout in nearly every game. The fourth official did not react at all either, despite it being clearly audible. It's laughable that the media have decided to choose this as the main moment of controversy from the game.
  21. I went into yesterday's game expecting very little, but wanted to see us compete and keep the score down. I certainly wasn't expecting to be leaving the ground feeling as if we'd been robbed. There's nothing that I can say about the decision that hasn't been said before, but, honestly, it's up there as one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. Still have a knot in my gut, thinking about it. Horrible. The performance itself, I thought, was very good. We worked hard, and pressed all over the pitch. There was genuine aggression and desire in our play, even before the controversy. We did lack incisiveness in the final third, but still created enough chances to have deservedly got something from the game. I'm not sure Remy is the right kind of player to be leading the line for us in this formation, he always looks at his best cutting in from the left. Doesn't seem to have that instinctive awareness when in a central position. We're seeing more and more chances being wasted, where quicker thinking would have resulted in a goal. Hopefully we can add an out and out striker over the next few weeks, and move him back onto the left. Only major grumble I have is that our first substitution should have been Hatem for Gouffran. Anita was playing well, and the change in shape lost us our momentum and fluency. The injury to that fucking little quim didn't help either, like. But, that's now two of the best teams in the league who have come here looking to spoil and time waste once they've gone ahead, which says a lot for the threat we pose. Tiote MOTM. He fucking loves games against the big boys, and what a fucking hit. Feel confident saying that he's completely turned it around now, and he's back to his industrious best for us.
