Whilst the theory is there, I think it'd be more credible if we'd been the ones doing the invading rather than the defending. I agree that I think she won the election in '83 on the back of the war, but I don't think she 'engineered' it. There's very few people who despise Thatcher more than I do, but even I can't blame her of that one. Then again, some have accused Blair of pushing ahead with the invasion of Iraq with elections in mind. The intelligence was there for her to put a smaller force on the island to deter them. But then the airport would never have been built by the company with a certain Dennis Thatcher as its director. Even if that is true, you make it out as though she's the only politician in history who's used her position to 'gain' in other places. They're all as bad as each other. No I know they are all bad. But the thread is only about the falklands. The Blair administration is just as bad over Iraq and the lies they told.

Rob, I think we're destined to be soulmates, because all that can be said in reply to that is 'Amen my brother'. Everyone everywhere is over-worked (unless you're Scott or Alex) and under-paid, it's just that nurses never shut the fuck about about it. Enough already.
